Motorola Edge 30 Pro Review
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro solid smartphone for day-to-day use and its worth the Rs 49,999 price tag, it has a powerful processor, solid build quality, superfast charging support, great cameras, 144Hz OLED display, and even wireless charging, so yes, its worth buying at 50k.
The phone also runs on Android 12 and it has all the features which can be found on Pixel smartphones.
The cameras are also great, the dynamic range and even details are clear and for the price of 50k, Motorola has done good but still, in some areas, Motorola needs to improve.

There is a 144Hz OLED 10-bit display, let me just say this, this is by far the best display available under Rs 50,000 in India. Motorola has done a great job.
Overall, if your budget is Rs 50,000 and if you’re looking for a balanced smartphone then do consider the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, it has almost everything that you will need.

Display Quality
I have said the same in the Motorola Edge 20 Review and I will say the same for this device too…
As of now, Motorola Edge 30 Pro has the best display under Rs 50,000 in India, it checks all the boxes.
The device has a 6.70-inches 10-bit 144Hz OLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and HRD10+ support.
On the rear side, it has a glass back which is protected with Gorilla Glass 5 while there is Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and the frame is made out of plastic.
Here, I feel, Motorola could have gone with an aluminum frame because this is a flagship smartphone.

Now, the design looks amazing, no issue with that but the placement of the side-mounted fingerprint sensor is a bit on the upper side.
So if you have small fingers then it will be a bit difficult to unlock the smartphone but once you get used to it, that won’t be a big issue.
Motorola has provided Widevine L1 support which means, you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT apps.
Overall, the phone has a great display, there won’t be any problem while watching movies or even playing games.
Performance
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and it runs on My UX 3.0-based on Android 12 while Motorola has promised two OS updates and three years of security updates.
This way, the Motorola Edge 30 Pro will get Android 13 and Android 14 Updates.
Now, as I have said in many smartphone reviews, the Snapdragon 888 processor was heating, now the same is happening with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
When it comes to real life, the phone doesn’t heat too much even while playing games but when you do thermal testing, the phone heats up a little bit.
The problem is not with a smartphone, it’s a chipset issue and I hope, Motorola does something about it or Qualcomm.
As I have said, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is a powerful processor, so there won’t be any kind of problem while playing mobile games, it will give you the best possible performance in every single game.

Also, the phone doesn’t have ads in the UI, it’s stock with some Motorola features and that’s it.
The device feels smooth and fast, so no issue with performance.
By the way, it also has 5G support and Motorola has added 13 5G bands which include n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38 n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78.
Overall, for the price of Rs 49,999, can’t complain much, it is a powerful smartphone and it will give you powerful performance in every single area.
cameras
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor while on the front it has a massive 60MP selfie shooter.
The rear cameras can shoot videos up to [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]/60fps while the front can shoot at [email protected] and [email protected]/60fps.
As the phone has OIS support, the videos come out stable but still, I feel, Motorola needs to be in the video department.
With some OTA updates, the videos can be improved and it can become the best camera smartphone under 50k.
Now, I didn’t see any issue with dynamic range and the details also come out well.
Sometimes, Motorola tries to boost the colors. For example, the black colors will be saturated and the same with other colors too.
Now, this is not only Motorola, most of the smartphones that launch under Rs 50,000, tries to boost the colors because most of the people in India like the boosted colors compared to natural colors.
Still, the image does come out better compared to its competition.
The 50MP primary sensor also takes some good image, no issue with details or even with dynamic range but sometimes, there was some problem with auto-focus.
Again, this can be fixed with updates but it also depends on Motorola, when they gonna fix it.
Also, as the sensor has OIS support and because of that, the image comes out the stable.
You know, as I said, the small ultra-wide sensor doesn’t make any sense because the ultra-wide lens captures a bigger area, so whether brands can work on the camera or they can provide a bigger ultra-wid lens.
In Motorola’s case, we have a bigger 50MP ultra-wide lens.
As this is a bigger sensor, the details come out well. Motorola is also using an Ultra-wide lens as a Macro lens too, so if you’re that person who loves to take macro shots then you will be more than happy with this 50MP sensor.
There is also a 2MP depth sensor and it also works fine but I would have loved to see, a telephoto lens as a 2MP sensor doesn’t do much.
We also have a bigger 60MP front camera and the largest selfie shooter available on smartphones.
Now, this feels, like a 12MP sensor because it’s not well-optimized but still the details come well because of the bigger sensor.
Again, the colors are saturated, just life rear cameras.
So yes, the front camera can be improved and if Motorola works on it then I feel, the front camera can become very good.
Overall, if you’re that person, who doesn’t care about every single detail then yes, you will be more than happy with the cameras but if you’re like, I want natural colors then you might not like the Motorola Edge 30 Pro cameras.
By the way, the images come out good and you can post them on social media.
There is some issue with videos but it’s not that big.
Considering the price, one should not complain much about the cameras.
Audio Quality
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro has a stereo speaker which works fine, no issues there. Its dual speakers, so can’t complain much.
It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone. The Motorola Edge 30 Pro does have carrier aggregation support.
As this is a flagship smartphone, there is no 3.5mm audio jack. You can use the TWS earbuds or buy Type-C to 3.5mm dongle for wired earphones.
Overall, the sound quality is good and there are no issues with call quality too.
Battery Life
The Motorola Edge 30 Pro comes with a 4,800mAh battery with 68W fast charging support. The 68W charger will take about 35 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%.
The phone also has 15W wireless charging support.
Overall, the battery should last for the day because of the processor but in the end, it depends on you, how you use your smartphone every day.
Now, if you’re a heavy user then you will need to charge this smartphone two times a day.
You can also use the 68W charger, so even if the battery doesn’t last for a day then the will be charged in 35 minutes.
