Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Display Quality
The Moto Edge 20 Fusion comes with a 6.70-inches 10bit 90Hz HDR10+ display with the 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Motorola has moved the fingerprint to the left side.
The phone does have Widevine L1 support which means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms. By the way, I have checked on Netflix as well as Prime Video and I was able to watch movies at FHD+, no issue there.
Motorola didn’t say what kind of display protection they have used on Moto edge 20 Fusion I come to know, the phone has NEG display protection. Now, on the backside, it has plastic while there is a metal frame all around the device.

If I have to rate the display quality then I will rate it as high as 9 out of 10. We have seen AMOLED displays around this price tag but never OLED displays.
Also, this is not just an OLED display. Its 10bit HDR10+ display with DCI-P3 colour space. This means the colours will be accurate while watching movies or even playing games.
So yes, if you wanted the best display quality at 22k then I think, you found one.
Overall, I don’t have any complaints about the display, Motorola has done a fabulous job here.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Cameras
The Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has 108MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide, and 2MP depth sensor while there is a 32MP selfie shooter. The rear camera can shoot videos up to 4k@30fps and the front can record up to 1080p@30fps while there is no OIS on any of the camera sensors.
Talking about OIS, below 25k, there are not many smartphones that have OIS support, so here, can’t complain much.

That 8MP ultra-wide would have been 16MP because the ultra-wide lens capture more areas and because of that, sometimes it loses out on details. So having more pixels helps.
Again, don’t ever use the ultra-wide lens at night even with night mode because the images will turn out soft, overexposed and this is where the image will lose out on details too.
Always go for the primary lens at night. By the way, that 108MP sensor provides good quality images. Still, I feel, Motorola needs to work on night mode.
The 108MP sensor is very powerful, if they optimize the sensor with an OTA update then it will provide the best images.
Overall, even right now, the cameras are good and I don’t think, there will any problem while shooting video or even taking photos.
Talking about the 32MP selfie shooter, here I feel, Motorola has a good job. The image does come out very well. The stock camera app also has some good filters that you can try for selfies.
In short, the camera needs optimization but that doesn’t mean, the phone has a bad camera, a little bit of refresh would be the best.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Performance
The Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is powered by a well-known MediaTek Dimensity 800U along with an Android 11.
It’s running on Android 11 with Moto Feature but it’s close to stock Android. Motorola has promised two years of Android OS updates and three years of security updates.
This means Motorola Edge 20 will get updates up to Android 13.
We have seen, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U in many smartphones. In short, there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or using the device in day to day life.

The MediaTek Dimensity 800U can be compared with Snapdragon 750G Processor. So yes, at a 22k price ist worth buying a processor.
Coming to 5G, the Moto Edge 20 Fusion has 13 5G bands which include n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, 77, n78, n66. This means, there won’t be any kind of problem when 5G launches in India, the phone will be able to use the 5G network.
Overall, if you’re a gamer or casual user then there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or even watching movies. The chipset will provide the best possible performance.
Also, the phone comes with a clean software experience, so no bloatware, no ads.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Battery Life
The Moto Edge 20 Fusion comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 30W wired fast charging support. Motorola has provided type-C to type-C cable for charging which is a plus point.
The phone will easily last for a day but if you’re a heavy user then you may need to charge the phone twice a day. Heavy means, those users who play games for 6 to 7hr a day.
Overall, I don’t think you will have any kind of problem, the phone has a huge battery size along with 30W wired fast charging.
Motorola Edge 20 Fusion Audio
Just like, Motorola Edge 20, the Moto Edge 20 Fusion also has a single bottom-firing speaker that is loud enough but it’s not as good as Stereo speakers.
The Moto Edge 20 Fusion does have a secondary noise cancellation microphone and carrier aggregation support.
The Single speaker is not that bad, you will be able to hear the sound even if you’re public place, the audio will be listenable.
Fun fact, the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion has a 3.5mm audio jack while Moto Edge 20 (read review) doesn’t have an audio jack.
If not Motorola Edge 20 Fusion? Alternatives
If you don’t want to spend 22k or don’t like the stock UI then you also go with RealMe X7 5G, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, Galaxy M51, Galaxy F62, OnePlus Nord CE 5G or even POCO X3 Pro.
If you ask me, as of now, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is the best option around 22k price tag because it has a clean Android experience, good camera, best display quality and many features.

Hi ,
Thanks for the detailed review.
You mention this :
//Motorola didn’t say what kind of display protection they have used on Moto edge 20 Fusion. Now, on the backside, it has plastic while there is a metal frame all around the device.//
But in the detailed spec list , the following is mentioned :
Corning Gorilla Glass
Does this mean that you do not know which type , 3 , 5 or 6 has been used ?
I come to know, it has NEG display protection while Mote edge 20 has Gorilla Glass 3.
New moto lineup looks sleek. The edge 20 fusion with the dimensity 800U chip and the 108MP cameras really speaks to me
Absolutely, looks like Moto is back in the game.
Hi, Intersted in the product. Need clarification on sound as i’m a music lover. How would be audio quality without stereo effect.
Also, kindly give details on NEG display protection. will it be effective for gaming usage. Kindly share your views and suggestions, Shall I go with the product..?
NEG (Nippon electric glass) is close to Gorilla Glass 3 but Still, Motorola didn’t mention which version they have used. Also, the audio is pretty loud but it’s not as good as Stereo Speakers.
So if you have used a smartphone with Stereo Speakers then you might be disappointed. Overall, I would say, as this is priced at Rs 21,499, it’s worth buying.
By the way, MediaTek Dimensity 800U is a powerful chipset, you won’t face any problem while playing games.
A powerful device that can beat any competitive device with its top specs that include the mediatek processor.
Without doubt…
Great to see the Mediatek chip and the 108MP camera in it. Both make it a premium device.
Have used Moto G5 plus. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Between moto edge 20 fusion, samsung m52 and OnePlus nord ce which is best…. Sound quality wise and camera quality too.
Thank you
First thing first, don’t buy OnePlus Nord CE. If you want an overall best smartphone then Galaxy M52 5G is a good option but if you want clean stock UI and if you can live with decent speakers then MOto Edge 20 Fusion is also not a bad option.
