Vivo V23 5G Review with Pros and Cons – Okay, Okay
Vivo has just launched two new smartphones under V23 Series, both of these smartphones are camera-centric. I have already reviewed the Vivo V23 Pro 5G and now it’s time to talk about the Vivo V23 5G and find out its Pros and Cons.

Vivo V23 5G Review
Yes, Vivo V23 5G is worth buying but it’s not for everyone because we also have other good smartphones under Rs 30,000 that offer better value compared to Vivo V23 5G, so if you wanted a camera-centric smartphone then do consider the Vivo V23 otherwise, the OnePlus Nord 2 is a better option.
Now, on the backside, Vivo has used some kind of technology that will change the color when the back panel interacts with UV lights.

This will attract lots of people. The device also has a good camera too but the thing is, we have smartphones like Moto Edge 20 (review), OnePlus Nord 2 (review), IQOO 7, and many others that have better specs and provide better value at a 30k price tag.
Overall, Vivo V23 5G is for those people who wanted the best selfie camera and best-looking smartphone.
Vivo V23 5G Pros and Cons

MediaTek Dimensity 920 SoC | Small Battery Size |
Colour Changing the Design | No 3.5mm Audio Jack |

Display Quality
The Vivo V23 5G comes with a 6.44-inches 90Hz AMOLED display, also this is HDR10+ ready display and it also supports, Widevine L1 which means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT apps.
On the rear side, it has glass while the frame is metal. I just want to say, think you to Vivo because they have used Matte glass which means, no fingerprint which is the best thing.
The display is bright enough to use under the sunlight, there won’t be an issue.
Vivo has also added an in-display fingerprint sensor which works well, you can also use your face to unlock the smartphone.

Overall, considering the price tag, Vivo V23 5G has a good display but still, I would have loved to see a 120Hz display because the device is priced at 30k and almost all the other smartphone at 30k has the 120hz panel.
Most people won’t notice the difference between 90Hz and 120Hz but you’re a geek then you will see the difference.
Performance
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 is the Successor of MediaTek Dimensity 900. The chipset is capable to run almost all mobile games without any problems, so if you’re a gamer then you will be more than happy with Vivo V23 5G.
Again, I would have loved to MediaTek Dimensity 1200 but the same has been used on Vivo V23 Pro 5G, so I don’t expect Vivo to put the same SoC in the non-Pro version.
So yes, to get something you have to lose something and in this case, it’s the processor.
No doubt, MediaTek Dimensity 920 is a good processor but it’s not the best at 30 price tag.
Vivo V23 5G is running on Fun Touch OS 12 based on Android 12, yes, it’s running on Android 12 out of the box which is great.
I’m not a big fan of Fun Touch OS, so I would recommend you to watch some of the videos on YouTube and if you like the UI then go buy Vivo V23 5G.
Overall, you won’t face any problems while playing games or even using Vivo V23 5G in day to day life.
Cameras
The phone comes with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro sensor while there are 50MP + 8MP dual selfie cameras. The front, as well as rear camera, can shoot videos up to [email protected] & [email protected]
Vivo V23 5G is a camera-centric smartphone but I would say it’s a selfie camera smartphone.
Vivo has added a dual flashlight on the front which is very helpful when you take selfies at night. In short, it has the best selfie camera under 30k.
Even at night, it manages to get good detail which is rare.
So yes, if you’re that person who takes lots of selfies or even uses the front camera for video recording then you will be more than happy with the Vivo V23 5G.

Coming to rear cameras, the 64MP primary sensor also takes good images but it tries to whiten the images. Now, this is not a problem because most Vivo smartphone does the same, it tries to make your face white.
So if you wanted to look natural then you should skip the Vivo V23 5G.
Other than that, the cameras are good and the 8MP ultra-wide does its job.
Also, that 2MP macro sensor is added for number, so ignore it.
Overall, I would say, the camera could have been better. By the way, it’s not like Vivo V23 5G has a bad camera but the thing is, we have phones like OnePlus Nord 2 and even Moto Edge 20.
So if Vivo says, this is a camera-centric smartphone then it should live up to that expectation.
Pro tip: Make sure to check out Vivo V23 5G in the offline market because you might get the phone at about 27k because Vivo phones are cheaper in offline shops compared to online.
Audio Quality
The Vivo V23 5G doesn’t have a stereo Speaker, it only has a single bottom-firing speaker. The speaker is also loud no problems there but as this is a 30k smartphone, Vivo should have added dual speakers.
It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone along with carrier aggregation which will help a lot in calls.
Overall, the speaker quality is average and there is no problem with calling.
Battery Life
Vivo V23 Pro 5G has a 4,300 mAh battery and the Vivo V23 5G has a 4,200 mAh battery while both of these phones have the same 44W fast charging support.
The 44W charge will take about 30 minutes to charge from 1% to 63%.
In short, if you’re a heavy user then get ready to charge the device two times or if you’re a casual user like me then you need to charge the device at about 5 to 7 PM.

Verdict
Vivo V23 5G is a good-looking smartphone and it also has the best selfie cameras while there is no issue with performance too.
If you ask me, I don’t buy smartphones because they are good looking, I buy a smartphone because it justifies the price tag and in this case, Vivo v23 5G is a bit pricey.
So if you want to spend extra money for that color changing back then I won’t judge you, go for it but if you want value for money device then you should take look at the OnePlus Nord 2 or Moto Edge 20.
Better, if you can wait for Flipkart Sale then you can get RealMe GT ME at only 18k which killer deal because its regular price is 27k.
