Vivo V25 Pro 5G Review
No, Vivo V25 Pro 5G is not worth buying because it’s an overpriced smartphone and still, Vivo has done a lot of cost-cutting which doesn’t make any sense for a Rs 35,990 smartphone, there is no stereo speaker, decent processor, plastic frame, bloatware in the UI and still, its priced at 36k which is not acceptable at all.
We have phones like Reno 8 5G and even OnePlus Nord 2T which have the same MediaTek Dimensity 1300 and they’re available at Rs 29,999 whereas Vivo is charging Rs 6000 extra for the same processor.

Vivo is more focused on the camera side of things but the cameras are also not as great as they’re marketing.
Overall, for the price of Rs 35990, Vivo V25 Pro 5G is not a value money device. Vivo is targeting the offline market and for sure, this device will sell more units offline compared to online.

Display
The Vivo V25 Pro 5G comes with a 6.56-inches 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 Pixels and 398 PPI density. There is also an optical in-display fingerprint sensor which works fine.
The Widevine L1 support will help you to watch FHD+ content on apps like Netflix or even Prime Video. It also has HDR support but for some reason, I wasn’t able to watch HDR movies on Netflix, I hope, Vivo fixes this problem soon.
On the front and back, it has glass while the frame is made out of plastic. The back glass is not glossy means, it’s not a fingerprint magnate.

The screen brightness is also good, there won’t be any kind of problems while using the smartphone outdoors.
Overall, the 6.56-inches curved display is good and you won’t be disappointed while playing games or watching movies.
Cameras
Here we go again…
The Vivo V25 Pro 5G has 64MP primary sensor which has OIS support, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor while there is a 32MP selfie shooter on the front.
The rear camera can shoot videos at 4k@30fps and 1080p@30/60fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps.
The OIS helps a lot while shooting videos, it doesn’t feel gimmicky at all. The OIS only works when you’re shooting videos with a primary sensor, it won’t work with any other sensor like Ultra-wide or macro.
Now, we all know how Vivo likes to present colors, the same color science has been used on this device too.
The colors are a bit boosted, the red colors will look more red compared to real life, and the same can be said for every single color.
I feel everyone will like how Vivo is presenting the colors because users love bit saturated colors compared to the natural.
The details are also there when you take images under good lighting but when it comes to low light, the sensor struggles a little bit. Under low light, the images come out a bit soft and noisy.
Talking about 8MP ultra-wide lens, here I feel, the ultra-wide lens is just another addon like a 2MP sensor. The images come out with good dynamic range but most of the time, images turned out to be soft.
If you throw a good amount of light then, the ultra-wide lens will give good images but when there is no light or a little bit of light then the images won’t give you that 36k smartphone vibe.
In case you don’t like the images then try out Gcam whenever it’s available because the Vivo V25 Pro 5G does have support for camera2api.
So yes, that 1.89 aperture does help a lot under the low light condition but keep in mind, don’t use the ultra-wide lens at night, always use a 64MP primary sensor because this lens has a 1.89 aperture which lets more lights into the lens.
For some reason, the 32MP front camera takes better images than the rear cameras,
In short, if you love to take selfies then this could be the ideal phone for you. Don’t count much on rear cameras.
Overall, for the price of Rs 35990, the Vivo V25 Pro 5G doesn’t have the best camera, it’s a decent camera with a good selfie shooter.

Performance
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is not a gaming processor, it’s made for casual work but yes, you will be able to play a little bit of gaming but don’t buy this, if you are a heavy gamer.
We have recently seen the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 in OnePlus Nord 2T (review) and OPPO Reno 8 5G (review) while both of these phones are working well.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is a powerful processor and there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or using a smartphones day to day life. The phone also has 8 5G bands which means whenever 5G launches in India, the phone will be able to take advantage.
By the way, 5G has been launched in India and you will be able to use 5G in 15 cities in India.
By the way, the device runs on Fun Touch Os 12 based on Android 12 and there are no words from Vivo for future updates but you can expect the Android 13.
I have already told you that, the Fun Touch OS comes with tons of pre-installed apps which you can uninstall but still, it is there even after paying Rs 35,990.
Also, you will be able to disable the ads from the setting menu but some users have experienced the ads even after disabling the ads.
Overall, there won’t be any kind of problems while playing games but the OS is full of bloatware and you will see ads here and there…
Audio
You expected dual speakers right but guess what, it only has a single bottom speaker which works fine. Now, of course, Vivo should have gone with a dual speaker but they wanted more profit, so they went with a single speaker.
The device has 2 × 2MIMO Carrier aggregation and two microphones, so there won’t be any issue with calling…
For those who are wondering, no the Vivo V25 Pro 5G doesn’t have the 3.5mm audio jack or even a micro-SD card slot.
Battery
The Vivo V25 Pro 5G comes with a 4,830mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging support. By the way, Vivo has provided an 80W charging adopter in the box but the device only supports 66W.
The MediaTek Dimensity 1300 is a battery-efficient processor which means the battery will last for a day. Also, that 66W fast charging helps a lot but keep in mind, always keep that charge and cable with you, other chargers won’t able to charge the Vivo V25 Pro 5G at 66W.
Verdict
I think you already know, whether you should spend Rs 35,990 or not but still,
If you’re a fan of Vivo then I would recommend you to buy Vivo V25 Pro 5G from the offline store because you will get it at a cheaper price compared to online.
Now, If you ask me, I don’t recommend Vivo V25 Pro 5G because it’s an overpriced smartphone and I don’t think you should pay a premium for Vivo and especially Fun Touch OS.
