One thing you must remember when buying a Vivo smartphone is don’t expect value for money device, Vivo will charge a premium for a decent smartphone and that’s the case with the newly launched Vivo V25 5G.

Vivo V25 5G Review

No, the Vivo V25 5G is not worth buying because it’s an overpriced smartphone and we have tons of better smartphones around the same price in India, so it doesn’t make any sense to pay a premium for the Vivo V25 5G.

The device has a single speaker, no SD-card slot, average rear cameras, plastic frame, bloatware in the OS, missing OIS, no NFC support, small battery size, old water drop design, and yet, its priced at Rs 27,999 which is not justifiable at all.

Now, the phone does have some pros like a solid front camera, and 44W fast charging but that’s not enough for a 27999 smartphone.

So if you wanted an overall powerful smartphone then you should skip the Vivo V25 and do take look at Moto Edge 30, IQOO Neo 6, RealMe 9 Pro Plus, or even RealMe GT Neo 3T.

Vivo V25 5G: Display

The Vivo V25 5G comes with a 90Hz 6.44-inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and HDR10+ Support. The back has glass, the frame is made from plastic while the front is protected with Schott Xensation Glass.

The device has old school waterdrop design which doesn’t look good at all, we’re living in 2022 and we should get a 2022 design and not a 2018 design.

When you’re paying Rs 27999, you shouldn’t compromise a bit on the display side of things because have a phone like Motorola Edge 30 5G which offers an OLED 144Hz display with a small punch hole cut-out while it’s available at Rs 26999.

The screen brightness is good, you won’t face any kind of problem while using the device under direct sunlight. It also has an in-display fingerprint sensor which works well as always.

Now here comes the selling part,

The Vivo V25 5G has color-changing glass on the back which means, that if you through UV light on the rear side, it will change its color.

For example, if you keep one finger on the back side and if you take the smartphone under sunlight then you will see your finger painted on the back side which will fade away after a second.

Now, this looks good for the first time but after that, you might ask yourself, why did I pay Rs 27999 for this? In short, it’s a gimmicky feature.

Overall, the device has a good display which could have been better.

Vivo V25 5G: Cameras

The Vivo V25 5G has 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro sensor while there is a 50MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the rear and front cameras can shoot videos at Rs 1080p@30/60fps and 4k@30fps.

The device doesn’t have OIS support, it relies on EIS.

This will be one of the shortest camera reviews on MobileDrop,

The 64MP primary sensor is trash, don’t expect natural photography, the image will come out saturated along with added white color on top.

The dynamic range issue is there, if you’re sunlight then sometimes the background might be overexposed here and there.

Now, it’s not like you will get a dynamic range issue every single time but when you get it, you will feel disappointed, in short, the phone doesn’t have a reliable rear camera.

The details are there but the same doesn’t reflect under low light.

Also, as the phone doesn’t have built-in OIS, the videos will come out shaky, if you’re running or walking while shooting videos.

Coming to 8MP ultra-wide,

The sensor takes a good image under good lights but if you take an image under low light then the ultra-wide lens won’t produce a usable image, so if you want useable images then always rely on the primary sensor under low lights.

Fact, Vivo V25 5G has a 2MP macro lens which is added for a showcase.

Talking about the 50MP front camera,

We have seen in the past that, budget Vivo smartphones have the best front camera rather than rear camera.

The 50MP sensor will impress you compared to the 64MP primary sensor, by the way, the selfie will come out a bit on the whiter side because that’s what Vivo is doing for the years and I don’t think they will change the color science very soon.

Now, I love the natural color and Vivo is not providing the same with the front camera which means Vivo V25 5G is not for me but if you want the beauty mode pre-applied within the camera app then go for it, this could be a good option for you.

Overall, Vivo V25 5G has a good front camera and an average rear camera. Again, everything can be improved with an OTA update but it also depends on Vivo, how and when they gonna do it.

Vivo V25 5G: Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 900 is a powerful processor and it can handle almost all mobile games without any problem but this is not a gaming chipset.

Also, MediaTek Dimensity 900 doesn’t worth the Rs 27999 price tag, I mean, you can get Snapdragon 870 at 26k, so you can see, why Vivo V25 5G is a pricey smartphone.

Now, Vivo didn’t say anything about future updates but I think the device should get Android 13 again, it’s not confirmed by Vivo.

Vivo V25 5G runs on Fun Touch OS 12 based on Android 12. By the way, if you didn’t know, fun touch os is my least favorite OS among all the Android Skins.

Vivo has also added 5 5G bands which include n1, n3, n41, n77, and n788.

Now, keep in mind, that if you play BGMI at the highest graphics, the game does lag a little bit, so I would recommend you to play at smooth at an Extreme frame rate for better gameplay.

Overall, for day-to-day use, you won’t face any kind of problem, the phone will work like butter but as I have said, this is not a gaming smartphone, so don’t expect that.

Vivo V25 5G: Audio

Single speaker on Rs 27999 smartphone, loved it…

It also has Carrier Aggregation support and even a secondary noise cancellation microphone which will help if the smartphone is not getting enough signals.

The single speaker is not that great but there won’t be any kind of issue in calling.

Vivo V25 5G: Battery

The 4500mAh battery will last for a day without any problem but if you’re a heavy user then get ready to charge the device twice a day.

Now, Vivo has bundled the 44W charger in the box which will only take 30 minutes to charge from 0%to 60%.

Now, the 4500mAh battery is kind of small, so if you’re a very heavy user then do carry a 44W charger with you otherwise, you won’t able to take advantage of fast charging.

Vivo should have added at least a 5,000mAh battery.
