Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Review with Pros and Cons – For Samsung Fans?

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Review

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Review

Samsung has just added another smartphone under the Galaxy M Series. The newly launched Galaxy M52 5G has almost the same specifications as Galaxy A52s 5G but Samsung has removed the small-small feature from Galaxy M52s 5G because it’s a cheaper device compared to Galaxy A52s 5G.

Those small changes will shock you but before that shock let me share with you the India price of the Galaxy M52 5G because this time, it’s a bit confusing.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Review

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G offers powerful Snapdragon 778G SoC which provides a good gaming experience, Samsung has also added 11 5G bands along with a good camera setup. In short, Galaxy M52 5G is worth buying, if you only wanted to buy a Samsung brand phone otherwise, it doesn’t make any sense to spend 30k on Galaxy M52 5G.

Before you buy Galaxy M52 5G, you have to see, how many options are available under Rs 30,000 and as of now, we have tons of options to choose from.

So it doesn’t make any sense to compromise in some areas. Just look at Motorola Edge 20 5G (review), IQOO 7 (review), or even OnePlus Nord 2 5G (review) or even Xiaomi 11 Lite NE which are available at a 30k price tag.

No doubt, Galaxy M52 5G is a good smartphone but it’s not the best under the 30k price range. Still, if you wanted to buy only Samsung branded smartphone under 30k then Galaxy M52 5G is the best option you have at this movement.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Display Quality

The Galaxy M52 5G comes with a 6.67-inches FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. It also has support for widevine L1 which means, there won’t be any problem while streaming FHD+ content on OTT apps.

By the way, Samsung didn’t mention which kind of display protection has been used on Galaxy M52 5G, so can’t comment on the front glass. On the backside, it has a plastic back and the frame is also made out of plastic.

This is a Samsung AMOLED display, so there won’t be any kind of problem while using the phone even under the sunlight. Also, the 120Hz refresh is smooth, didn’t see any lags or frame drop while using the smartphone.

Overall, the Galaxy M52 5G has good display quality, it can’t be called the best under 30k but still, there is nothing to complain about the display.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes with a 64MP primary sensor12MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and on the front, it has a 32MP selfie shooter. The rear cameras can shoot videos up to 4k@30fps while the front can shoot up to 1080p@30fps.

The device doesn’t have OIS support, so the footage will come out shaky but there is EIS support but that is done by software. So take that EIS as you can.

Overall, considering the price tag, Samsung should have given OIS but as we all know, can’t expect everything from Samsung at the mid-budget price range.

Also, the videos do come out well, the details are there and no issue with dynamic rage too. It’s just that, OIS would have made the camera better.

Talking about the 64MP primary sensor, the sensor takes some good images in daylight and even at night, Samsung has done a good job but still, Samsung needs to work on the camera department.

What I’m saying is, a little bit of optimization can make the camera better but this is Samsung, so I don’t want to comment on the future updates.

Samsung has also added quite of few features in the stock camera app which will helpful for Instagram or regular photography.

Apart from that, night photography is okay, still, there is some work to do. The image doesn’t come out good at night.

Coming to 12MP ultra-wide, this is where Samsung has done a good job but don’t try to use the ultra-wide lens at night, it won’t be usable.

There is nothing to complain about the ultra-wide except the night photography. Also, that 2MP macro sensor is just for number, don’t expect anything from 2MP…

For those who are here for a selfie camera, Samsung has added a 32MP front camera and this is the same sensor from the Galaxy A52s 5G. So the image will come out well, so no complaints about selfie shooter.

All in all, Samsung Galaxy M52 5G camera would have been better. So if you’re expecting the image quality to be like OnePlus Nord 2 5G or even Reno 6 5G (review) then you will be disappointed.

Still, cameras can be improved but it depends on Samsung whether they gonna do it or not?

As of writing this article, the Galaxy M52 5G has above average cameras, it is slightly better than the POCO F3 GT but not as good as Nord 2 5G or even Motorola Edge 20 5G.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Performance

The Samsung Galaxy M52 5G comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC and running on OneUI 3.1-based on Android 11. The device also supports 5G and Samsung has added about 11 5G bands including N1, N3, N5, N7, N8, N20, N28, N40, N41, N66, N78.

Now, we have seen Snapdragon 778G SoC in quite of few smartphones and one thing is for sure, this chip is battery efficient.

Also, OneUI is well-optimised by Samsung, so there won’t be any issue while using the smartphone in day to day life or even while playing games like BGMI or even COD Mobile.

By the way, the Galaxy M52 5G support the BGMI game at HRD with an Ultra frame rate and smooth at an extreme frame rate. Still, no support for 90Hz in BGMI gaming.

Overall, Snapdragon 778G SoC is a powerful processor, so there is nothing to worry about performance.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Audio Quality

The Galaxy M52 5G does have a secondary noise cancellation microphone but it doesn’t have stereo speakers. Still, the single speaker is good but not as good as Rs 29999 price tag.

For those who are wondering, there won’t be any kind of problem while taking calls or even while using Bluetooth earbuds.

Still, I feel, considering the price tag, Samsung should have added the stereo speakers.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Battery Life

The Galaxy M52 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging but the catch is, they have only provided a 15W charger in the box, so you have to buy a 25W charger from Samsung separately.

As I have said, Snapdragon 778G SoC is battery efficient processor and the same can be seen in the Galaxy M52 5G.

The battery will last for a day whether you’re a heavy user or a normal user. Still, if you use the device for six to seven hours continually then you have to charge the device two times a day.

Also, you will only get a 15W charger in the box.

Verdict

As I have said, Samsung Galaxy M52 5G is not for everyone. If you wanted to buy a Samsung smartphone then this is it, go for Galaxy M52 5G but if you’re okay with other brands then do take look at Nord 2 5G or even Moto Edge 20 5G at a 30k price range.

Still, at 26k the Galaxy M52 5G is a good option but at 30k, this is not the best option.

Now keep in mind, that you can buy Galaxy M52 5G at 26k for a short period of time but after that 30k will be the regular price and I have revied the Galaxy M52 5G considering the 30k smartphone and not at 26k.

*Pro-tip – If you want to buy Galaxy M52 5G then buy during the Amazon sale which will start on 3rd October and for Prime users, it will start on 2nd October. During this sale, can be bought as low as 24k.

Still, if you’re confused then do let me know in the comment, I would love to help you out.
