Google Pixel 7 is not a perfect device, it has one major problem which won’t bother lots of users but it will be a deal breaker for some users.

So let’s find out in this Pixel 7 review whether it’s worth the Rs 59,999 price or is just another Android smartphone.

The Google Pixel 7 is priced at Rs 59,999 for 8GB of Ram and 128GB storage in India while the same variant is available at 499 USD (Rs 49,999) in the USA. The device comes in Obsidian Black, Snow, and Lemongrass color options, and it’s solid via Flipkart.

Google Pixel 7 Review

Yes, Google Pixel 7 is worth buying but if you wanted the smartphone for gaming only then stay away from the Pixel 7 and take look at a smartphone with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The only problem is the processor other than that everything in Pixel 7 is close to perfect.

Tenser G2 is not a powerful processor, it will give you the same power as Tenser G1, Google has just improved its AI capabilities other than that, it’s a decent processor for day-to-day usage.

In short, if you’re a heavy gamer and wanted to buy a new smartphone to play heavy games for hours then simply stay away from Pixel 7.

Now, if you can compromise on performance and want the best cameras, premium build, solid software experience, and overall balanced smartphone then do consider the Pixel 7.

Display

The Pixel 7 is priced at Rs 59999 which is a good price, it’s not overpriced at all but at the same time, it has extra bottom bezels which don’t look good at all.

I get it they’re using an old design but common, this is a 60k smartphone and they should have provided the symmetrical bezel.

The Pixel 7 comes with a 6.30-inches 90Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and pick a brightness of 1400 nits.

Again, 90Hz at 60k is not justifiable at all.

Now, the display quality is great, the colors are vibrant and it’s good quality AMOLED panel that goes up to 1400 nits.

It also has the in-display fingerprint sensor and it’s a good one, it doesn’t have problems like Pixel 6A still, but it’s not as fast as other Android smartphones.

The only problem is its design, other than that, it’s a solid display for a 60k price tag.

Performance

With the new Google Tenser G2, Google has implemented some AI features with the stock camera app that can shoot cinematic video and much more which you won’t find in any other Android smartphone very soon.

You also have the unblur feature which will let you unblur your old photos which works great, it does its job because of the new Tenser G2 chipset.

This feature is pixel-exclusive but other Android brands will figure out something, one way or another.

By the way, yes Pixel 7 has 5G support and it has whopping 22 5G bands which include n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n14, n20, n25, n28, n30, n38, n40, n41, n48, n66, n71, n75, n76, n77, and n78

The new G2 chip is made by Samsung, so don’t expect the performance to be like Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 but it will be good enough for day-to-day usage and a bit of gaming.

Earlier, Google used the Exynos 2100 but they named it Google Tenser G1, so we don’t know yet, which Exynos processor they’re using it.

In short, this is not made for heavy games, it’s good for using social media, watching movies, or even playing games here and there. So don’t buy this device to play games, you will be disappointed, bit time.

The Pixel 7 runs on Android 13 and it will get 3 years of OS Updates and 5 years of security updates.

Here is a fun fact,

Samsung offers 4 years of OS updates in their flagship smartphone and here Google is like, We don’t Do that here…

In conclusion, Google Tenser G2 is a decent processor for normal users, it’s not made for power-hungry users.

Cameras

Now, I won’t talk much about, the dynamic range, the camera angles, and so on. Here, let’s talk about the practicalities…

The Pixel 7 comes with a 50MP primary sensor +12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10.8MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the front and rear cameras can shoot videos at 4@30/60fps & 1080p@30/60fps.

It has the best cameras under Rs 60,000, that’s the statement.

Pixel 7 also takes better images than the Galaxy S22 Ultra which is priced at 1 Lakh in India while Pixel 7 is priced at Rs 59,999.

Again, I don’t have to tell you about the accuracy of the colors, you will get the natural colors, and you won’t get those OPPO, Vivo, and RealMe’s beauty modes. It will take the images as you’re, and it won’t add too much white color at all.

The front camera is solid too, you will get natural selfies, and the sensor size is only 10.8MP still, because of the software, you will get the best selfies.

Videos have been a weak part of Google for years but with the Pixel 7 series, Google has improved the video quality, it won’t give you iPhone Videos but for the 60k price tag, one should not complain about it.

Still, I feel, it can be improved a little bit.

Concluding everything from price to features, hands down, the Pixel 7 has the best cameras under Rs 60000 in India, you won’t get better cameras than this, it’s a bold claim but it’s true.

Audio

No, 3.5mm Audio jack but it does have stereo speakers. The quality of the speakers is great, the bass is there and even they sound clear too.

Google has talked much about the call quality in the presentation, so let’s talk about it…

The phone has three microphones, and Google has also improved the call quality with the help of software. So yes, if you take tons of calls every day then Pixel 7 would be the good smartphone to consider.

That said, it has Carrier Aggregation which will help when the smartphone is not getting enough single.

All in all, the speakers are excellent and the call quality is superb too.

Battery Life

The Pixel 7 comes with a 4,355mAh battery with 30W wired and 20W wireless charging support and no, the charger is not supplied in the box, you have to buy it separately or use whatever you have at home.

The 30W charger will take about 30 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%.

I know, the battery size is kind of small but still, it will give about a day battery life but if you’re a heavy user then you will have to charge the Pixel 7 at around 4 to 6 PM.

Again, I have said many times that Battery life depends on a user by user, in short, you won’t know how a logger battery will last for you until you use the smartphone but I have given you the rough number for your reference.
