6 Reasons to NOT Buy Google Pixel 6A and 3 Reasons to BUY?
Things are getting hot in India because Google has just launched Pixel 6A in India at a premium price tag, now this can’t be called a premium smartphone but it’s an overpriced smartphone because Googe has imported it from Vietnam.
In short, Google has paid Import duty and GST, and now Google wants that tax money back from all of us.
Google Pixel 6A Price in India
The Pixel 6A is priced at Rs 43,999 Rs 29,999 for 6GB of Ram and 128GB of storage in India while it’s available in Chalk and Charcoal colors option and will go for sale on 28th July 2022 via Flipkart at noon.
Update: Pixel 6A was launched at a whopping Rs 43,999 price tag but its available at Rs 29,999 and even at this price, it’s a good option for cameras, rest is not as good as its competitors, ex; Nothing Phone 1.

Reasons to BUY Google Pixel 6A?
It doesn’t matter whether the smartphone is overpriced or not. there will be some users who will buy the device because they want one or two features. Those features could be cameras, Google’s software experience, or anything else.
So let’s see 3 reasons to BUY Pixel 6A.
Google Experience
I love Google’s software, it’s clean and fast, and on top of that, the Pixel phone gets faster Android updates. Now, Google has promised three years of OS updates which means, the Pixel 6A will get Android OS updates up to Android 15 and after that, you’re on your own.
In short, if you wanted to use Stock UI then this could be a good option otherwise, you also have options like Motorola Edge 30 Pro 5G and even the newly launched Nothing Phone (1).
Cameras
For those who don’t know, Pixel 6A doesn’t have the same cameras as Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. Google has used the same sensor which they have used on Pixel 3, 4, and 5 and now the same has been used on Pixel 6A.
So yes, the sensors are not new but they’re well tested, so the camera performance is great compared to any other smartphone under Rs 40000.
Just because of Google’s software optimization, the images come out close to nature, there is no issue with dynamic range and even details, and everything feels good.
The front camera also does its job, nothing extraordinary.
By the way, the Pixel 6A comes with a 12.2MP Primary sensor + 12MP ultra-wide lens and there is an 8MP sensor on the front. The rear cameras can shoot videos at 4K recording at 30/60fps and 1080p recording at 30/60 fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p video recording at 30fps.
Overall, for the price of Rs 43999, Pixel 6A doesn’t disappoint at all.
Audio
I don’t know what kind of speaker Google have used but they’re superb. I can even say that Pixel 6A has the best speakers under Rs 40000.
In case you didn’t know, it has dual speakers and there is no 3.5mm Audio Jack…
Reasons to NOT buy Google Pixel 6A?
We all know that Nothing is perfect in this world, and the same applies to smartphones too. So let’s see some of the reasons to Not Buy Pixel 6A.
Display
Yes, the Pixel 6A has a 60Hz 6.10-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 PIxels. Now, we all know that there are tons of smartphone that offers 120hz and even 144Hz OLED display under Rs 50000, so getting 60hz is kind of disappointing.
When users buy a new smartphone in India, they will keep the phone for two to three years, so having 60hz after a year will feel a bit slow because we will have better displays available under Rs 50000.
In the end, it’s all about price, I would have loved this phone at even 35k but now it’s kind of pricey at 44k with that 60hz Panel.
Charging speed
The battery will last for a day with normal use but if you’re a heavy user then you will have to charge it twice a day. On top of that, the Pixel 6A only supports 18W wired charging.
By the way, you will have to buy an 18W charger separately because Google didn’t give a charger in the box, just like Nothing…
Also, if you have a PD charger at home then you can use the same to charge Pixel 6A but if not they get ready to pay some money.
No Wireless Charging
I get it, most Indian users don’t use wireless charging but when the phone is priced at 44k, it’s better to have wireless charging. For those who use wireless charging, this will be a bit disappointing.
Not the Best For Gaming
Don’t get too excited by reading, Google Tensor processor…
For those who don’t know, Google Tensor is not made by Google, it’s an Exynos 2100 chipset, Google has made some improvements on top of that. Still, there won’t be any kind of issue while playing games or using it in day-to-day life.
By the way, the Google Tensor processor will provide close to Snapdragon 865 performance, so take it as you like.
Keep in mind that, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro has tons of bugs, and Google is still, fixing them…
Overall, if your end goal is to play heavy games then stay away from this device as it only has a 60hz refresh rate and there is a trust issue with Exynos.
Build
By the way, Pixel 6A is a budget smartphone from Google and the same doesn’t feel in India.
On the front, the device has corning gorilla glass 3 while the frame is made out of Aluminum and the back has plastic.
In short, you won’t get a premium vibe when you hold the Pixel 6A.
Verdict
There are only two reasons to buy Googe Pixel 6A which are its cameras and Google software experience other than that it’s a decent smartphone that is available at the premium price tag
