Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G Review with Pros and Cons – Find Dustbin

Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G Review

Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G Review

The smartphone market has become boring, we’re not getting value for money devices and the new launches are coming with one or two upgrades. While in between, Infinix has launched the new Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G with all-new MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G is priced at Rs 16,999 while it’s available in Volcanic Grey, Tuscany Blue, and Alphine color options and it will be available from Rs 30th August 2022 via Flipkart at noon.

Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G Review

No, the Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G is not worth buying because Infinix has skipped lots of features like there is no Ultra-wide lens, plastic uni-body, no secondary noise cancellation mic, no carrier aggregation support, no 5G connectivity, only 60Hz refresh rate, while the OS is full of bloatware and still, Infinix is charging Rs 16999 which doesn’t make any sense.

Infinix needs to fix the XOS or just delete the OS and make a new one or just go with Stock Android. It has tons of pre-installed third-party apps while there are ads in UI that you can’t disable 100%.

The device is priced at Rs 16999 and still, it doesn’t have an Ultra-wide lens, they just added the 108MP primary sensor along with a 2MP+2MP sensor. The cameras are not that great, I wouldn’t even call this a 17k smartphone, it feels like Infinix has added the 10k sensors on a 17k smartphone.

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G doesn’t justify the Rs 16999 price tag, they should have launched the 6GB + 128GB variant for Rs 13999 price tag but they only launched the 8GB + 256GB variant. This is where things get tricky because one should not pay Rs 17999 for what Infinix is offering.

Display

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G comes with a 6.70-inches 60Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a pick brightness of 1000 nits. The front is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 while the rear and frame are made out of plastic.

The device does have widevine L1 support means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on all the OTT platforms.

Yes, the AMOLED panel is great, whether you wanted to watch movies or play games, the colors look vibrant. It also has an Always-on display which you can customize further in settings.

Infinix has added a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, now this is pure cost cutting. The sensor is not slow at all, it’s as fast as it can get but when the smartphone has an AMOLED panel, adding a side-mounted fingerprint doesn’t make any sense.

Still, we all know, a side-mounted fingerprint is cheaper compared to an in-display, so see it this way. Also, the waterdrop notch doesn’t look good at all in the 2022 smartphone.

The 1000 nits brightness will help a lot outdoors, whether you want to read articles or watch YouTube videos.

Overall, Infinix has done some cost-cutting in fingerprint and by providing a 60Hz refresh rate. Other than that, it’s a good AMOLED panel for the price of Rs 16999, it could have been better but this is what it is now…

Performance

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G is the first smartphone to feature the MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, it’s an upgraded version of the Helio G96. Mediatek has mainly updated the CPU which means, the SoC should provide the batter battery life while the GPU has also gotten a little bit of upgrade.

The device runs on XOS 10.6 based on Android 12, yet, there is no word from Infinix about future updates but it should get Android 13.

I have said lots of things about the XOS, it’s one of the worst Android skins, and it’s not getting better even with the updates.

Infinix has been launching good smartphones at good prices but because of the software, I hesitated to recommend their smartphones.

By the way, the MediaTek Helio G99 doesn’t support 5G connectivity hence, you will have to live with 4G.

Now, if you wanted to buy gaming smartphones then I would highly recommend you the RealMe 9 SE 5G which is powered by Snapdragon 778G.

Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G is also a good smartphone for gaming and even for day-to-day usage but Infinix is charging a lot for what they’re offering.

Cameras

Cameras are a big part of any smartphone and I have also talked a lot about them but this time, I don’t want to, its a huge let down for me because this is Rs 16999, and yet, we’re getting this kind of camera setup even in 2022.

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G comes with 108MP primary sensor, 2MP depth and 2MP AI cameras while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the rear as well as the front cameras can shoot videos at 1440p/30fps, there is no OIS support, it mainly relies on EIS.

Now, the EIS doesn’t work that great because EIS relies on Software and we all know, how good XOS is…

The 108MP is there for the numbers games, it doesn’t provide the real 108MP images. When there are good lights, it provides decent-looking images, sometimes, the dynamic range creates some issues but if you click two or three images, you might get one good image.

Now, when click images under low lights, you will get average images, don’t even think to upload night images on social media, just keep those images in the smartphone for your memory.

Yes, the device does have a dedicated night mode along with tons of pre-added filters within the stock camera app. That night mode doesn’t do much, it looks like, Infinix needs to work a lot, I mean, a lot…

Coming to the 16MP front cameras,

Here you will get beauty-enabled images by default and you can’t even do anything about it, don’t even think about the natural colors when you click images with the front camera.

Yes, the images will come out white, sharp and there will be noise when you click selfie under low light.

Considering everything from price to a bigger 108MP sensor, don’t expect anything from the cameras, it’s just there and you have to acknowledge those sensors otherwise, you will be disappointed big time.

Audio

The Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G has stereo speakers and wait for it, yes it also has a 3.5mm audio jack too.

The speaker quality is not that great, 30% of volume comes from the top speaker while the remaining 70% of volume comes from the bottom speaker, the audio clarity is also not that great.

Guess what, the device doesn’t have a secondary noise cancellation microphone or even carrier aggregation support.

On paper, the speaker looks amazing but when it comes to real life, things don’t go as planned.

Overall, the speakers are not that great while not adding a secondary noise cancellation microphone and even carrier aggregation support affects the call quality.

Battery

The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support and yes, the 33W charger is supplied in the box.

The battery will last for a long time because of the MediaTek Helio G99 processor, if you’re a heavy user then you will have to charge the device between 8 to 9 PM but if you’re a normal user then the battery will easily last for a day.

As I have said many times, the battery life depends on users by users. If the user is playing games for five to six hours then he or she needs to charge the device two times a day otherwise, the device will last for a day without any issue.

Verdict

If you ask me, I don’t recommend the Infinix Note 12 Pro 4G at all, it has very bad software, cameras, build, and even speakers. So if you can, just ignore the devices and move on with your life.

Still, if you have any kind of questions then do let me know in the comments, I would love to answer them…
