Motorola G51 5G Review
Yes, Motorola G51 5G is worth buying because it has a powerful Snapdragon 480+ SoC and it also has 12 5G bands while the cameras also produce close to natural colours. Overall, Moto G51 5G is a value for money device.
Now, the device does have an LCD panel but Motorola has used a good quality display, so there won’t be any issue but of course, if you want an AMOLED panel then you have to go with a 4G smartphone because as of now, we don’t have good 5G smartphone below 15k with AMOLED panel.

These were the Pros and Cons of Motorola G51, now let’s talk a bit and find out, what Motorola has to offer this time.
Display Quality
Motorola G51 5G comes with a 6.80-inches 120Hz LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The device has a plastic back and frames while there is no mention of what kind of glass is used on the front side.
There will be some people who will say, I don’t want to use LCD panel, I want AMOLED.
Hear me here,
Mobile brands won’t give everything in smartphones, they will cut one or two features. For example, if the phone has 5G then it won’t have an AMOLED panel and if it has 5G then it won’t have an AMOLED display.

So you have to choose, what is your highest priority.
By the way, Motorola has used good quality LCD panel, so there won’t be any issue while playing games or even watching movies.
It also has wide wine L1 support that means, you will be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms.
Overall, you won’t face any problems while using the display.
Performance
The Motorola G51 5G is powered by an all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC and runs on Android 11 while the device will get an Android 12 update and two years of security updates from Motorola.
First, let me explain,
You will say, what Motorola was thinking when they added 400 series SoC in 15k smartphone and you’re right but this isn’t Motorola’s fault.
It’s all because of Qualcomm, looks like Snapdragon 400 series is the new 700 series because Snapdragon 480+ is the successor of the Snapdragon 730G.
In shorts, Snapdragon 480+ is as powerful as Snapdragon 732G but now, it also has 5G support.

Coming back to the performance, the chipset is powerful enough to handle almost all the games which are available on the play store. So there won’t be any problem while playing games like BGMI, PUBG, COD Mobile, etc.
The device runs on Stock Android 11 which means, no ads, no pre-installed apps.
Overall, don’t get confused because of the Snapdragon 480+ SoC, there won’t be any problem while playing games or using a smartphone every day, the device will work like butter.
Cameras
The Motorola G51 5G has 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensor while there is a 13MP selfie on front. The rear camera can shoot videos up to [email protected] while the front can shoot up to [email protected]
4k recording would have been good but, the chipset itself doesn’t support 4k. So it’s not Motorola’s fault.
One thing I’m liking about Motorola is, they are trying to keep colours close to nature which means, no oversaturated colour or no extra smoothness.
That 50MP sensor is good enough to capture great images under good lighting but when it comes to night, the images come out with a little bit of noise.
This can be fixed by an OTA update. Also, night photography has been a big problem in many budget smartphones, so it’s not only Motorola.
The 8MP ultra-lens does its job, nothing special. This lens also tries to smoothen the images which were expected, so I hope Motorola provides an update to fix these problems.
Now that the 2MP sensor is added for number, so ignore it.
Coming to the front side, that 13MP selfie shooter takes some good images under the good lights but I have noticed dynamic image issues sometimes.
Again, the same problem can be found in most budget smartphones, so nothing new here.
Again, if you’re that person who loves to take selfies then this is not the best smartphone, you have to go above 15k to get the best selfie camera but considering the price tag, Moto G51 5G has good cameras.
Overall, I’m impressed with the Motorola G51 5G cameras. It tries to capture natural images which plus point for a budget smartphone.
I feel you will be more than happy with the cameras. Still, I feel, if Motorola can work on camera then it can become the best camera under 15k.
Audio Quality
The device has a single bottom-firing speaker which is loud enough to listen to music or watch movies at home but it’s not the best to watch videos in crowded places.
The Moto G51 5G does have two microphones which mean, there is nothing to worry about calling.
By the way, it does have a 3.5mm Audio jack and Bluetooth 5.1 support.
Battery life
The Motorola G51 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W fast charging support.
Fun fact, the Global version of Moto G51 5G only supports 10W charging while the Indian version supports 20W fast charging.
The battery will last for a day without any problem but if you’re a heavy user who lay games all day then get ready to charge Moto G51 5G two times a day.
Overall, Moto G51 5G has good battery life or should I say, day battery life.
