iQOO Z6 Lite 5G Review

The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is not for everyone because it only has a powerful processor and 5G support other than that, it’s just a normal smartphone with average cameras, only 18W charging support, plastic built, two 5G Bands, and full of bloatware. However, for the price of Rs 13999, it’s worth buying.

It only has n77 and n78 5G bands which is sufficient enough to use 5G connectivity in metro cities.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is a new processor from Qualcomm and it’s by far the best one, you will be more than happy with its performance whether it’s in gaming or even battery life.

The cameras are the weak part of the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G and iQOO didn’t even provide a charger in the box which is disappointing because this is a budget smartphone.

The single speaker doesn’t provide good sound quality but yes, it does have a 3.5mm Audio jack.

Concluding everything from price to specs, the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is a good option for those who are looking for a budget 5G smartphone and don’t care much about cameras and build quality.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G: Display

The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G comes with a 120Hz 6.58-inches LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and 401ppi pixel density. It also has 460 nits pick brightness along with a 240Hz touch sampling rate.

Now, if you’re wondering why this smartphone is looking too familiar is because iQOO has just copied the design of the iQOO Z6 5G.

Everything from display to build is the same as iQOO Z6 5G.

Now, the phone has an LCD panel means, it can’t have an in-display fingerprint sensor and that’s why IQOO has added the sensor on the right side.

Related5 Best Smartphones Under Rs 20000

The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, no issues there, it works like a normal side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Here comes the 2019 back,

The IQOO Z6 Lite 5G has an iconic waterdrop notch which doesn’t look good at all, IQOO should have gone with a punch hole but they didn’t want to work much, so they just used the design they already had and because of that the save a little bit of money.

Now, the screen brightness could have been better, sometimes when using a smartphone outdoors, it gets hard to read small text.

However, the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G has a good LCD panel which could have been better.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G: Performance

This will be the selling point of the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G, so let’s talk about it…

As I have said, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 has a 15% faster CPU and 10% better GPU compared to Snapdragon 480+. It’s also made on 6nm architecture which means, this is a power-efficient processor.

You will be able to play games like Apex Legends, COD Mobile, and PUBG New State at 50fps. I didn’t notice a frame drop during the gameplay but of course, if you play for a long time then you will notice frame drops here and there.

Even while using a smartphone in day-to-day life, the Fun Touch OS was working fine, I didn’t face any kind of problems while watching movies or even scrolling through apps like Instagram or YouTube.

IQOO has also promised 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates.

The device comes with a full Full of Bloatware that can be uninstalled but still, you have to go through this even after paying Rs 13999.

By the way, it only has n77 and n78 5G bands which is sufficient enough to use 5G connectivity in metro cities.

In short, if you wanted a 5G smartphone under Rs 15000 and if you don’t care much about the Fun Touch OS then yes, you can consider the newly launched iQOO Z6 Lite 5G.

Again, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 is a power-efficient processor, there is nothing to worry about the performance.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G: Cameras

The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G has 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor while there is an 8MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the rear as well as the front camera can shoot videos at 1080p@30/60fps.

It doesn’t have OIS and also for some reason, the night mode is only enabled on the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, you won’t get it on the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant.

With your permission, let’s remove the 2MP depth sensor and talk about the 50MP primary sensor,

Now, the 50MP sensor does take good images under good lighting, the dynamic range was kind of okay and the details are also there. The sensor is trying to soften the images and add a bit of extra white colors on human skin, so yes, you will look more bright and more white.

The night mode is doing its job but still, the images under low lights had noise, and again, the colors were saturated, just like Vivo smartphones.

Yes, the sensor can be improved with an OTA update but that depends on iQOO, so let’s wait and see…

The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G has a hybrid SIM card slot which means you can either use two SIM cards or one SIM and microphone SD-card

The 8MP selfie shooter was kind of okay, it is taking white images, I mean, you don’t even have to apply the filter to post on Instagram.

As I have said, cameras are a weak part of iQOO Z6 Lite 5G but still, they’re not the worst too. They’re useable when there is a good light but if there is not enough light then, try not to use the cameras.

The videos don’t come out stable because it relies on EIS and looks like, IQOO didn’t optimize the video too well. So if you’re recording videos, don’t run fast, just walk and the videos will come out well under good lighting.

Overall, iQOO should have added an ultra-wide lens nevertheless, the cameras are not that bad or the best, they’re useable under good lighting.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G: Audio

The IQOO Z6 Lite 5G doesn’t have stereo speakers, the single bottom speaker does work but again, it is a single speaker.

The Single speaker is not good that good but hey, this is a 5G smartphone, so you will have to compromise sometime.

Almost all 5G smartphone under Rs 15000 doesn’t provide faster charging, stereo speakers, punch hole display, metal frame, and good cameras. So you will have to compromise something to get something.

It doesn’t have a secondary noise-cancellation microphone but there is support for carrier aggregation too.

As this is a budget smartphone, so yes, IQOO has added a 3.5mm audio jack.

Overall, the sound quality is good and there are no issues with call quality too.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G: Battery

The IQOO Z6 Lite 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging support. The 18W charger will take about 2 hours to charge from 0 to 100%.

Guess what, there is no charger in the box, buy a new one or use whatever you have at home that’s what iQOO is trying to say in a polite way.

Overall, the battery should last for the day because of the processor but in the end, it depends on you, and how you use your smartphone every day.

Now, I would have loved to see 30W charging speed but here also, IQOO did cost-cutting.

Review

Budget 5G smartphones are coming with lots of compromises and the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is nothing new, it has lots of flow but still, the 5G connectivity will sell lots of units. In short, if you want a balanced smartphone then stay away from iQOO Z6 Lite 6G but if you want the best 5G smartphone under Rs 15000 then this could be a good option.
