OPPO F21 Pro 4G Review with Pros and Cons: Avoid

OPPO F21 Pro 4G Review

OPPO F21 Pro 4G

One should not expect a good budget smartphone from OPPO because they usually charge a premium for most of their smartphone and the newly launched OPPO F21 Pro 4G is one of those.

The OPPO F21 Pro 4G is priced at Rs 22,999 for 8GB of RAM + 128GB of Storage in India, it will go for sale on 15th April 2022 via Amazon at noon while the device is available in Cosmic Black and Sunset Orange color options.

Now, let’s see whether you should spend Rs 22999 on this device or not?

OPPO F21 Pro 4G Review

OPPO F21 Pro 4G is overpriced, OPPO is charging way too much for the brand, you can get the same specs in a 15k smartphone and that phone will be way better than OPPO F21 Pro 4G, in short, the device is not worth buying and you should not waste your money on this device.

By the way, this is a 4G smartphone, so even after paying 23k, you won’t be able to use the 5G network.

The device only has 1 practical sensor which is 64MP, other 2MP+MP sensors are added for marketing only, and they won’t do anything. Overall, considering the price tag, the phone doesn’t have good cameras.

Also, OPPO has added a 4500mAh battery and it supports 33W wired charging which is not good because we have other better smartphones with 60W and even 120W charging support.

Now, even after bad specifications and prices, people will buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G because OPPO will target the offline market and when it comes to the offline market, OPPO sold’s way much compared to online.

So if you go to the local store and if the shopkeeper convinces you to buy this device, don’t fall for that because OPPO gives hall lot of commission to that shopkeeper and that’s the reason, they try to sell you OPPO or even Vivo phones, rather then RealMe or even Xiaomi…

Display Quality

OPPO F21 Pro 4G comes with a 6.43-inches 90Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and 800 nits of brightness. The front is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the backside also has glass but the frame is made out of plastic.

No, doubts the display is good, OPPO has provided a good display but I would have loved to see a 120hz AMOLED display because this is a 23k smartphone.

The phone does have Widevine L1 support which means you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms.

Overall, for the price of Rs 22999, OPPO could have provided a better display but on the other hand, the Snapdragon 680 only supports a max 90Hz refresh rate, so can’t complain much but again, OPPO should have gone with a better chip too.

Cameras

I have reviewed many smartphones but for the first time I’m speechless, I don’t know what should I talk about and that’s the reason, this will be a very short cameras review…

The OPPO F21 Pro 4G has 64MP primary sensor, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor while there is a 32MP selfie shooter on the front/ Both of these front and rear cameras can shoot videos up to 1080p@30fps.

By the way, the phone doesn’t have OIS support, the video footage will come out shaky while the has a little bit of issue with dynamic range, sometimes, the videos do come good but sometimes, it feels like, why I did I pay 23k for the device.

Also, at night, there will be noise in the images as well as in videos too, OPPO has added a dedicated night mode in the stock cameras app but again that doesn’t work well.

Coming to that 64MP sensor, OPPO is knowns for selfies and that same can be seen on this device too, for some reason, front cameras take better images than rear cameras.

So if you’re that person who wants to pay 23k for a front camera and you can’t buy any other smartphone brand other than OPPO then what can I say, OPPO F21 Pro 4G could be a good option to consider.

Also, those 2MP + 2MP sensors added to the market this device in the offline market, so ignore it, treat this device as single cameras smartphone.

As I have said, that 32MP from the camera is good, you will be more than happy with the selfie but again, it doesn’t worth the 23k price tag.

Overall, Oppo F21 Pro 4G doesn’t have the best camera or good cameras, it has average cameras with a premium price tag.

Performance

We have seen Snapdragon 680 Processor under Rs 15000 price range and the same OPPO as added in 23k smartphone which is not justifiable.

So if you’re that user who loves to play mobile games and you thought, let me buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G smartphone then change that thought, because the chipset is not powerful enough to play high-end games.

Also, the chipset doesn’t have 5G support, so you have to live with 4G even if 5G launches in India. The phone runs on Color OS 12.1 based on Android 12.

By the way, if you’re a gamer then you can consider the RealMe 9 SE 5G (review) which has Snapdragon 778G processor keep in mind, that this phone doesn’t have good cameras but it’s great for gaming.

Overall, OPPO should have gone with Snapdragon 778G processor but they didn’t because they wanted to make more profit.

Audio Quality

The phone doesn’t have stereo speakers, OPPO has provided a single bottom-firing speaker.

The single speaker is loud enough to watch YouTube videos or even movies without earphones but still, OPPO should have provided stereo speakers because this is a 23k smartphone.

It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone along with carrier aggregation which will help a lot in calls.

By the way, OPPO has also added a 3.5mm audio jack which is another plus point.

Overall, the audio and even call quality are good, with no complaints.

Battery Life

The OPPO F21 Pro 4G comes with a 4,500mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The 33W charger will take about 60 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%.

Overall, the battery will last for a day, the Snapdragon 680 SoC is power-efficient SoC and it will give better battery life.

In the end, it will depend on user by user, and how they use the smartphone.

Verdict

RealMe and even OPPO are sub-brand of BBK Electronics,

RealMe has recently launched the RealMe 9 4G (review) at Rs 17,999 in India and this phone has the same specs as OPPO F21 Pro 4G, the only difference is the design, that’s it…

Coming to OPPO F21 Pro 4G, this is not worth buying at Rs 22999, you have tons of better options under Rs 25000, so it doesn’t make any sensor to pay a premium for OPPO for nothing…

Reasons to Buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G?

If you want only OPPO branded smartphone then you can consider the OPPO F21 Pro 4G otherwise, there is no reason to buy this device, it’s an average smartphone with an OPPO logo and that’s it.

Reasons to Not Buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G?

There are many reasons to not buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G starting with the cameras, the phone doesn’t have good cameras, you will be disappointed with the quality while the Snapdragon 680 is not a gaming processor, so don’t even think about paying heavy games on it and this is Rs 22999 smartphone and yet there is not 5G support.

Again, as I have said there are many reasons to not buy OPPO F21 Pro 4G and I think you already know it, so I’m not preparing the same. Still, if you have any questions or doubt then feel free to comment, I would love to help you out, see you there.
