Motorola G52 Review

Yes, Motorola G52 is worth buying because it offers Real value compared to its compromise, there is a super smooth 90Hz pOLED display, lightweight body, 33W fast charging support, long-lasting battery life, stereo speakers, NFC support, premium design, good camera and it’s available at Rs 14499 which is a good price for what Motorola is offering.

The Moto G52 doesn’t have 5G support because it’s powered by Snapdragon 680 processor which doesn’t have support for 5G. Now the processor is not very powerful but it’s good for day-to-day use and even for casual gaming, it’s not made for hardcore gaming.

Overall, for the price of Rs 14499, Motorola G52 is a great option and its works by buying but if you want a 5G smartphone then you have to go above 15k and you will also lose out on some of the key features too.

Display Quality

The Motorola G52 comes with a 6.60-inches pOLED display with a 90hz screen refresh rate and 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Motorola has used Panda Glass for display Protection which is as good as Gorilla Glass 3 while the frame and back are made out of plastic.

The screen brightness is 500 nits which is not that great but there won’t be any kind of issue while using the smartphone outdoors. There is also Widevine L1 support which means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms.

We have seen most of the smartphones under Rs 15000 have a 120Hz LCD display whereas Moto G52 has pOLED 90Hz panel which is great for media consumption and even for gaming too.

Also, we have seen that most budget smartphones have large bottom & side chines but that’s not the case with Motorola G52.

Overall, for the price of Rs 14499, Motorola has provided a great display and one should not complain about it because it’s a far better panel than what the competition is providing. Also, the quality of pOLED is good…

Performance

We have seen Snapdragon 680 processor in the recently launched Redmi Note 11 and even in RealMe 9 4G (review) and the same has been added to Motorola G52 too. Again, as I have said, the processor is not built for heavy gaming, it’s a good processor for day-to-day use and casual gaming.

So if you’re a gamer then I don’t recommend you to buy this smartphone because it’s not made for gaming, it’s a decent processor and it will give you good performance in day-to-day life.

For gaming, you should consider the IQOO Z6 5G (review), and if you more powerful processor then do consider the RealMe 9 SE 5G (review) which is available at Rs 19,999.

The phone runs on My UX 3.0 based on Android 12 while Motorola has provided one year of OS updates and three years of security updates.

By the way, Moto G52 has close to stock Android Experience, so there are no ads or third-party system apps, you will get the Google pixel-like experience in a 15k smartphone.

Now, Redmi Note 11 also has the same Snapdragon 680 Processor, and it’s available at Rs 13,999 but the thing is, it runs on MIUI which is the very heavy OS for this chipset whereas, the My UX is a well-optimized and light OS.

So, any day, I would recommend pure stock OS compared to heavy MIUI.

Overall, if you’re a casual user who doesn’t play heavy games like BGIM or COD Mobile all day long then you won’t face any problems but if you’re a heavy gamer then you should skip the Moto G52 and consider the IQOO Z6 5G or pay little more and consider the RealMe 9 SE 5G.

Cameras

The Motorola G52 comes with a 50MP primary sensor + 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front.

The Rear cameras can shoot videos at 1080p@30fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps. The phone doesn’t have OIS support and also this is a 15k smartphone, so can’t expect OIS.

From the Motorola G51 5G (review), here feels like, Motorola has done a great job with the Motorola G52. The primary sensor takes some good images under good lighting, the details are there, no issue with the dynamic range too, and also, the colors come out close to nature while if you want you can turn on the HDR to get saturated colors.

For some reason, when we turn ON the portrait mode, the dynamic range got messed up, now this is a small issue and it can be fixed with an OTA update but it’s not like, this issue is popping up every single time, its hit or miss kind of situation.

The same can be said for the front camera too, that 16MP selfie shooter is not that great, the photos did come out good but at the 15k price tag, I feel, there is room for improvement.

Also, the 8MP ultra-wide lens is decent enough to take some good images under good light, it did suffer a bit under the low lights but other than that it takes good images.

Coming to the massive 2MP macro sensor, this is added for marketing or showcase, don’t expect anything, it looks good on the rear, and that’s what matters.

Overall, for the price of Rs 14499, the Motorola G52 has good cameras, and the front camera needs improvement other than that, I think you will be more than happy with the quality of the images.

Also, I have said many times, that it’s high time to change the stock cameras app on Motorola devices, it looks outdated and complicated to use. I mean, Motorola is using stock Android, so I think they should also include Gcam too, what do you think?

Audio Quality

For the first time, Motorola has added a stereo speaker in a budget smartphone, yes, believe it or not, we have dual speakers on Motorola G52. So yes, it’s dual speakers, so can’t complain much.

It also has a secondary noise-cancellation microphone. The Motorola G52 does have carrier aggregation support.

As this is a budget smartphone, Motorola has added a 3.5mm audio jack.

Overall, for the first time, I can say. the Motorola G52 has superb sound quality and no issue with call quality too.

Battery Life

The Motorola G52 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The 33W charger will take about 60 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%.

Overall, the battery should last for the day because of the processor but in the end, it depends on you, and how you use your smartphone every day.

Now, if you’re a heavy user then you will need to charge this smartphone two times a day.

You can also use the 33W charger, so even if the battery doesn’t last for a day then it will be charged in 60 minutes.
