Micromax IN Note 2 Review with Pros and Cons – Buggy UI

Micromax IN Note 2 Review

Micromax IN Note 2 Review

Micromax is back with another affordable smartphone and its actual upgrade from IN Note 1. The has almost everything that you can expect from a Rs 13,490 smartphone but still, it has its Pros and Cons.

So let’s review the newly launched Micromax IN Note 2 and find out what, Micromax is hiding behind that design.

By the way, Micromax IN Note 2 is priced at Rs 13,490 for 4GB of Ram and 64GB storage while it will go for sale on 30 January 2022 at noon via Flipkart.

Currently, as a launch offer, you can grab the IN Note 2 at only Rs 12,490.

Micromax IN Note 2 Review

Yes, Micromax IN Note 2 is worth buying because it has powerful MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, 30W fast charging support, solid battery life, AMOLED display, also the smartphone is available at Rs 13,490 which good price for what Micromax is offering.

You can’t get everything perfect,

Micromax needs to work on software, In Note 1 users are complaining about software updates for a long time and also, Micromax didn’t say anything about future updates too.

Also, just like the last generation, In Note 2 doesn’t come with a stable UI. It still feels like a beta.

Overall, Micromax IN Note 2 sounds great on paper but in real life, Micromax needs to work on Software and if they don’t work on the software side of things then, people will look for other brands.

In the end, you will pay your money, whether you buy an Indian smartphone brand or a Chinese brand, so it’s better to get the best smartphone rather than, a decent smartphone.

In short, I don’t recommend Micromax In Note 2 but if your trust Micromax then you can order one for yourself.

Display Quality

IN Note 2 comes with a 6.43-inches AMOLED display with a pick brightness of 550 nits.

The rear side is made out of glass, the camera frame is made out of plastic, the frame is also made out of plastic while there is glass on the front which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The rear side has glossy glass which means, it will leave fingerprints.

The build quality is kind of okay, it’s not as good as Micromax is marketing.

The good thing is, Micromax has used a good quality AMOLED panel and also, it is visible under the sunlight.

Overall, Micromax has done great with display and the same can be said for the build too.

Performance

We have seen MediaTek Helio G95 on many smartphones, so here, I don’t have to say much.

In short, if you’re a gamer then you will be more than happy with the performance whether you want to play COD Mobile or even BGIM, the smartphone will give its best performance.

The only problem I have is software.

If Micromax finger out Software then I can recommend Micromax smartphone but as of now, IN Note 2 doesn’t have the best UI.

I mean, it does have stock UI but still, it’s buggy.

Also, Micromax IN Note 2 doesn’t have 5G support.

Cameras

I’m not saying much about cameras because they’re not very good, Micromax needs to work on camera. They can’t just add camera sensors, they need to optimize the camera according to the Indian environment.

By the way, the phone has a 48MP primary sensor + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP depth + 2MP macro sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter. The rear cameras can shoot videos up to 1080p@60fps while the front can shoot at only 1080p@30fps.

Let’s just do one thing, remove that 2MP + 2MP sensor because they’re added for numbers.

Also, the 5MP ultra-wide lens does the same thing, it does capture good images and it can be useful but still, considering the price tag, the 5MP sensor doesn’t do justice.

The 48MP sensor is kind of okay, when there are good lights, it captures decent images. Now when it comes to low lights, the sensor, struggles a lot.

The same can be said for the front cameras too.

In short, night photos doesn’t come out good on IN Note 2.

Overall, if you’re planning to buy IN Note 2 then don’t expect much from the camera, they’re okay.

Audio Quality

The phone doesn’t have stereo speakers, Micromax has provided a single bottom-firing speaker.

The single speaker is loud enough to watch YouTube videos or even movies without earphones but still, Micromax should have provided stereo speakers.

It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone.

Micromax has said, the phone has carrier aggregation support but I didn’t find it in my unit.

By the way, Micromax has also added a 3.5mm audio jack which is another plus point.

Overall, the audio and even call quality are good, with no complaints.

Battery Life

The Micromax IN Note 2 comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. The 30W charger will take about 25 minutes to charge from 0 to 50%.

Overall, the battery will last for a day but if you’re a heavy user then get ready to charge the smartphone two times.

Verdict

Micromax IN Note 2 is a good smartphone but because of Software, I don’t recond the smartphone because Software is a key part of any smartphone and if it doesn’t work well then there is no use of a camera or even a chipset.

Still, if you trust the Micromax Brand then you can spend Rs 13,490 and order Micromax IN Note 2 on 30 January from Flipkart.
