Samsung is back with another A series smartphone with a premium price tag, yes, the Galaxy A14 5G is overpriced and it’s made for Samsung users only, so let’s find out in this review who should and shouldn’t buy it.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G price in India starts from Rs 16,499 for 4GB of Ram and 64GB of storage while the 6GB of Ram and 128GB variant is priced at 20,999. The device is available in Dark Red, Light Green, and Black while it’s available on Amazon.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Review

No, the Galaxy A14 5G is not worth buying because Samsung is charging way too much money for what they’re offering, HD display, plastic build, average cameras, only 15W charging support, and No charger in the box are not justifiable at all for Rs 16,499 price tag.

Samsung Galaxy A14 5G Pros and Cons

Display

The Galaxy A14 5G comes with a 90Hz 6.60-inch LCD HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels and 400PPI density.

The device has a plastic back, and frames while it has glass on the front but Samsung didn’t mention what kind of glass protection they used.

Samsung has put the waterdrop HD+ LCD display on Rs 16499, so let that sink in for movement, and appreciate Samsung for what they have done.

If you didn’t get it, that was sarcastic. I mean, I have to clarify that because some of the readers might take it as a feature.

Again, because of the LCD display, Samsung has added a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which works fine.

Now, the problem is, the HD LCD panel on Rs 16499 is not justifiable at all, if Indian users buy this device then it will be all because of the Samsung Logo.

In short, the phone does have a good display but it’s doesn’t worth the 17k price tag, this would have been a good display on an 8k smartphone.

Performance

New Exynos 1330 processor from Samsung is here and it’s almost identical to the MediaTek dimensity 700 5G. So yes, the performance won’t be a huge issue but still, don’t buy the smartphone for gaming as this is a budget Samsung smartphone.

Let’s say, you don’t play games like COD Mobile, PUBG New State or even Ashplant 9 then do consider the Galaxy A14 5G but if you’re that person who plays those games then kindly stay away from this device.

Another disadvantage is the OneUI Core which is a downgraded version of the OneUI which is not good at all, also Samsung has removed lots of features.

So yes, if you’re buying the Galaxy A14 5G for OneUI then don’t, you will be disappointed big time.

By the way, the phone does have 5G support but as of now, Samsung didn’t say how many 5G bands the Galaxy A14 5G has.

Cameras

You will see three cameras on the rear side but out of three sensors, only 1 sensor is useable other two sensors are 2MP macro and 2MP depth which are added for the showcase.

Now, the 50MP primary sensor is good and takes useable images under good light, although there is some issue with the dynamic range and I feel, it can be easily fixed with the OUT update.

Whether to fix the dynamic range issue or not depends on Samsung, so what I’m saying is, the problem can be fixed, if Samsung wants to fix it.

Again, the images come out a bit white and soft which is kind of okay as most budget smartphone does the same.

Now, when it comes to the low lights, the Galaxy A14 5G is not the best among other smartphones under Rs 20,000. This means the low-light images are not good enough to post on Social Media unless and until you edit them heavily.

The phone relies on EIS, now because of that the video comes out unstable and the quality of the videos is also not good.

The 13MP front camera is kind of okay, it takes white and soft images while the Samsung adds extra colors on top, so the images will come out saturated. This simply means the front camera takes social media-ready images.

There is no need to edit the selfies.

Concluding everything from the price to features, the Galaxy A14 5G has average cameras and it doesn’t justify the whooping Rs 16,499 price tag, take this as a smartphone with Samsung Logo on the back and don’t compare it with any other smartphone under Rs 20,000, if you wish to buy it.

Audio

Just like Galaxy A23 5G, the Galaxy A14 5G also doesn’t have dual speakers, it has a single speaker on the bottom which is good but not as good as a stereo speaker.

The good news is, the device does have the 3.5mm audio jack along with Carrier Aggregation support.

Battery

You guessed it right, there is no charger in the Box, you will have to buy a 15W charger separately. The device has a 5,000mAh battery which supports 15W charging.

We’re getting 80W charging support under Rs 20,000 and Samsung is like, we won’t give you the charger in the box and also use the 15W or leave it.

Now, the 5,000mAh battery will last for a day but if you’re a heavy user expect the battery will last for 5 to 7 hours, depending on how you use it.

Summary

The Galaxy A14 5G is not value for money device, although, it’s a good device for those who wanted to buy a new Samsung smartphone and don’t even look for other brands.
