POCO F1 Review with Pros and cons (2022 updated)

POCO F1 Review

POCO F1 was launched in 2018 and now it’s been a year but still, it’s a wonderful device below Rs 20,000.

The main key factor on this device is of course chipset that Xiaomi has used, it’s powered by the last year Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 soc which was a powerful chipset in 2018.

Let’s do the POCO F1 review, so you can decide whether this one is for you or not?…

POCO F1 Review

POCO F1 has a powerful chipset, great battery life, and awesome camera quality, so let’s find out what’s bad on this device. Before we jump into the POCO F1 review, here are the full specifications.

Display Quality

The POCO F1 comes with 6.18 inches Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2246, and it has a huge display notch. It doesn’t have a super AMOLED display like RealMe X or Redmi K20, but considering the price and it has a good quality display.

One thing I need to add here is the smartphone touch issue which means, that if something like your smartphone charging cable, paper, or anything else touches the POCO F1 display then the screen will respond.

The company has said, display touch issue will be fixed but for now, I haven’t gotten an update for that problem.

Apart from the display problem, it has wonderful display quality. POCO F1 is protected by corning gorilla glass 3 which will give you little bit of protection.

Build Quality & Design

The handset is built on plastic which is not a great thing to have in a smartphone. So make sure to use the back cover on this device because if accidentally you drop POCO F1 on the floor then the back side will brock. Personally, I’m not a very big fan of polycarbonate plastic but this is what you gonna get.

Camera Performance

The POCO F1 comes with a dual rear camera setup featuring 12-megapixel primary sensor with an F/1.9 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an F/2.0 aperture. On the front, it has a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with an F/2.0 aperture.

POCO team has done it very good job in camera quality and then has given lots of an ate to improve camera quality. And If you want great cameras then you can use Gcam on POCO F1 and it will give the possible result.

By the way, the smartphone can shoot video up to 4K@60fps and yes it’s true 4K because it’s given via software update.

So technical it will give 4K resolution but it will not give the best possible result. Before we talk further, let’s take look at some camera samples…

Overall, POCO F1 has a great camera setup, and still, in 2019 it has the best camera quality below the Rs 20,000 price range. So yes there is nothing to worry about cameras, just go with it, if you don’t care about design or build quality.

Note: If you want the best images then use GCam because the stock camera app that is given by POCO will not give you the best result.

Performance

The POCO F1 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 soc which is built on 10 nm technology with Adreno 630 GPU and octa-core 4×2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 385 CPU. It’s running on MIUI 10 Global 9.5.30 based on Android 9.1 (Pie).

It has the best and most powerful chipset inside, so you don’t need to worry about performance. By the way, I have played games like PUBG, Asphalt 9 legends, Fortnite, modern combat 5, and many others but I haven’t found any issue in gaming.

In short, you will not gonna face any problems while playing games or even in day-to-day tasks. Keep in mind, if you play games like PUBG or Fortnite for 1 or 2 hours then the phone will heat a little bit.

Battery Life

The POCO F1 is packed with a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. The device will last all day if you are a casual user but play games continually then you will need to charge this device end of the day.

Note Battery life will depend on your daily uses like what kind of games you are playing, how much time you spend on mobile phones etc.

Conclusion – POCO F1 Review

The POCO F1 has Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, a great camera setup, best battery life, and is priced at Rs 17,999. The only band thing on this one is, build quality and old design. so if you can work with design & built then POCO F1 is still, the best smartphone in 2019 but not in 2022…
