OPPO Enco W51 Review with Pros and Cons

OPPO Enco W51 Review

OPPO Enco W51 has ANC which is a premium feature but OPPO is offering it in the budget segment and this is not the only budget earbud to have ANC, we have seen this with the newly launched RealMe Buds Air Pro and RealMe Buds Wireless Pro.

Now it’s good to see, how OPPO has implemented the ANC because RealMe did mess with ANC on their both earphones.

So let’s see in this OPPO Enco W51 review whether it’s worth the Rs 4,999 price tag or it’s just another TWS earbud from the mobile brand…

OPPO Enco W51 Review

Yes, the OPPO Enco W51 is worth buying however, it doesn’t have heavy bass, so if you’re that person who loves to listen to classical music then you will adore the Enco W51 but if you’re a bass lover then stay away from it.

OPPO Enco W51 Pros and Cons

PROSCONS
Best ANC Implementation Average battery Life
Excellent Call QualityLimited Controls for non-OPPO phones
Wireless Charging SupportThe bass is not heavy
Comfortable to wear
IP54 Rating
Bluetooth 5.0

OPPO Enco W51 Sound Quality

OPPO Enco W51 comes with a 7mm audio driver which is not the best because we RealMe Buds Air Pro which offer 10mm, drivers.

Now, let’s not go into a number because that doesn’t justify the actual audio experience. The Buds comes with three mics which will help a lot in calling and this is what it does.

I have received tons of calls and trust me, this is the best TWS for calling and those mics do all the magic.

Whether in a crowded place or just running around your home, these buds will give the best audio experience.

OPPO Enco W51 also has ANC mode which can be turned on by double-tapping the left earbud. Let me just put this here, OPPO has done a good job with ANC.

I have tested ANC on ReaMe Buds Air Pro and as I have in that review, RealMe just didn’t focus on ANC must, they just added the sensor and that’s it but OPPO has nailed it.

When you enable ANC on OPPO Enco W51, the outside noise will be gone totally, you won’t be able to hear fan noise, AC noise or even if someone is calling, you won’t able to hear the ringtone.

Talking about Sound quality, OPPO has gone with a balanced sound which means everything you listen to is just balanced, it’s not like the music will crack or the instrument unstable.

Everything feels perfect unless it comes to bass.

As I have told you, it has three microphones and ANC which means buds are fully packed up, so here OPPO didn’t have extra space for bass.

This could be the only reason why OPPO Enco W51 doesn’t have the best bass. You can feel the bass but it’s not very heavy like JBL C100TWS.

In short, if you want very heavy bass then I think OPPO Enco W51 is not the best TWS earbuds but if you want clear and balanced sound then OPPO Enco W51 is the only TWS you should get.

OPPO Enco W51 Build Quality and Comfort

OPPO Enco W51 wright is about 55.5 grams and single bud weight is about 3.5 grams.

Now, you can tell, this is the lightweight TWS earbuds but it comes with a price which I’m gonna talk about in the battery section. As this comes with rubber ear tips, there won’t be any kind of problem with comfort.

It also comes with three extra ear tips, so if the pre-applied doesn’t fit very well then play around and see what fits you very well.

Coming to build quality, it has a plastic unibody and the hinge is also made out of plastic but has metal wired inside the hinge.

If you see the OnePlus Buds, this has a metal hinge that means in long term, there won’t be any problem with OPPO Enco W51, there could be some issues in the build but as of now, I haven’t had any problems.

Still, if something happens with the charging case then I let you know.

OPPO Enco W51 Features

This is an IoT Product which means it has tons of feature but most of the feature is only available for OPPO devices.

So if you don’t have an OPPO device then it will be difficult for you to customize the feature which is a bummer it is what it is. Nevertheless, let’s see some of the features and gestures.

Talking about gestures,

  1. Double-tapping the left earbud enables/disables the Active Noise Cancellation
  2. Double-tap on the right earbud to play the next song
  3. invokes the voice assistant by triple tapping on either side
  4. You can also set different control on each bud but it’s available on OPPO devices.

Earlier OnePlus also did the same thing but they recently launched the OnePlus Buds app where a non-OnePlus device can control all the features.

OPPO should do the same because if someone doesn’t have the OPPO device then he can’t get the best out of OPPO Enco W51.

It also has an IP54 rating which means it can handle sweat and a little bit of water.

For those who are wondering, this can be used while exercising because it’s water-resistant, so a little bit of water won’t harm the buds. This too has Bluetooth 5.0 support, so there won’t be any problem with connectivity.

Quick pair is only available on OPPO devices which is annoying because this could be a universal feature. I hope OPPO launched dedicated apps for a non-OPPO device like OnePlus.

OPPO Enco W51 Battery Life

OPPO claims the OPPO Enco W51 buds will give 4.0 hours battery with ANC OFF and 3.5 hours with ANC ON while 20 hours with a charging case.

This is all coming from OPPO, so they won’t give a perfect figure. Talking about myself, I got about 3 hours with ANC OFF and 3.20 hours with ANC OFF.

OPPO Enco W51 also has wireless charging, if your smartphone has wireless charging support then this could be a good feature but if not then it won’t make a huge difference.

The single bud has a 25mAh battery while the charging case has a 480mAh battery capacity. The Charging case will take about 80 minutes to charge 0% to 100% and yes, it has a Type-C port.

Overall, OPPO Enco W51 doesn’t have the best battery life as compared to the OnePlus Buds which offers 7hr with buds and 30hr with a charging case but yes, OPPO Enco W51 has a better battery than the OnePlus buds Z.

Also if you want extra talk time then keep the volume between 40% to 50% which will give you above 4hr battery life but if you keep the volume above 50% then it’s going to be around 3hr.

OPPO Enco W51 Review: Conclusion

OPPO Enco W51 is priced at Rs 4,999 and it offers ANC, wireless charging support, three microphones, the best sound quality, lightweight earbuds and there are more features.

Now, if your budget is 5k and you want the best sounded TWS earbuds then this is the best option you have right now, so just go for it. It’s value-for-money budget TWS earbuds.

If you don’t have an OPPO smartphone then there will be a customization problem because you can’t control the option on the non-OPPO device, so keep that in mind. Overall, this has the best sound quality but it also doesn’t have the best battery life and bass.

Do I recommend OPPO Enco W51?

I do recommend OPPO Enco W51 because when it’s come to TWS earbuds, you should more focus on sound quality rather than the build quality or look and feel. This has everything and yes, this has some cons but it won’t be a huge problem.

Now, if you want a long-lasting battery then you should go with the OnePlus Buds and if you want heavy bass the JBL C100 is the best option but if you want the overall best TWS earphone then OPPO Enco W51 is the way to go.
