OnePlus 7T Pro Review with Pros and Cons

is OnePlus 7T worth buying

Every year OnePlus launches two smartphones but in 2019, OnePlus has launched four devices with two different processors.

At the beginning of 2019 OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7 & OnePlus 7 Pro and those two smartphones become the best-selling flagship smartphone, after that comes the T series smartphone.

On 27th September 2019, OnePlus launched the OnePlus 7T and after twelve-day, they launched the OnePlus 7T Pro in India.

OnePlus 7T is a successor of the OnePlus 7 and that’s 100% fact because the OnePlus 7T is a huge upgrade from the OnePlus 7.

Next comes the OnePlus 7T Pro and this one is the successor of the OnePlus 7 Pro, now you can’t say the same about OnePlus 7T Pro because OnePlus has only d it a minor update and launched the OnePlus 7T Pro.

Yet, the phone has its pros and cons, so let’s find out what’s new OnePlus has to offer with OnePlus 7T Pro.

Quick note, the OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ and 90Hz display, the only difference is one has a due drop notch and one has a full-view display. Now let’s dive into the OnePlus 7T Pro Review…

Display: crispy

The OnePlus 7T Pro comes with a 6.67-inches QHD+ display with a resolution of 1440×3120 pixels, it also has the pop-up selfie camera setup, and because of that one plus manages to get a 90%+ screen-to-body ratio.

The phone also has a 90Hz display which will give you a smooth performance in every department. The display quality is quite similar to the OnePlus 7T & OnePlus 7 Pro, so there is nothing new in terms of display quality.

But yes if you are using a OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 6T then you won’t notice a huge difference between your device and the OnePlus 7T pro.

The phone’s weight is about 206 grams and 516 display PPI. Overall, the phone has excellent display quality, you need to know that it has a 90Hz display, I mean if you haven’t used a 90Hz display ever then you gonna love this one.

The phone does curve from the side edge, so it will give you a nice grip in your hand.

The only thing you will notice in terms of the design is TOF camera implementation, the TOF sensor has moved from the middle to the left side of the camera cutout. So you can’t use the OnePlus 7 Pro case cover on 7T Pro.

OnePlus 7T Pro is also available in McLaren edition, so if you like McLaren then you can buy this one too. Keep in mind, that the phone does not have a micro-SD card and 3.5 mm Audio jack.

On a closing note, the display quality is the same as what we have seen in the OnePlus 7 Pro, so there is nothing new in terms of the display, the design is quite familiar to the OnePlus 7 Pro, apart from the TOF sensor placement.

Performance: it’s like butter floating around the display

The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus with Adreno 640 GPU, it runs on OxygenOS 10 based on Android 10 out of the box.

We have already seen Snapdragon 855+ processor in OnePlus 7T and Asus ROG 2 and those device has performed excellently in every department. Tho, the OnePlus 7T Pro runs on OxygenOS 10 which means it will be faster than any android smartphone.

So yes there is nothing to worry about performance but of course, if you already own any OnePlus 7 series smartphone then I won’t recommend you to upgrade to the OnePlus 7T Pro because all the OnePlus 7 series smartphone has already powerful chipset, so I don’t see any reason to buy a new smartphone unless you want to buy the latest smartphone.

Cameras: Nothing Changed

The OnePlus 7T pro comes with the same camera setup which is present on the OnePlus 7 pro with some minor improvements.

The phone comes with 48-megapixel (f/1.6, 0.8-micron) + 16-megapixel (f/2.2) + 8-megapixel (f/2.4, 1.0-micron) with a TOF sensor while on the front, it has a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera setup.

Like the processor, the OnePlus 7T Pro has the same camera setup as the OnePlus 7T.

The camera has improved a little bit from the OnePlus 7 Pro but there is no huge upgrade, so don’t worry if you already bought the OnePlus 7T, you are not missing anything.

The only thing that isn’t present on OnePlus 7T is a TOF sensor which isn’t a big deal. As we have discussed in OnePlus 7 Pro review, the phone doesn’t have very good cameras considering the price tag.

Now OnePlus 7T Pro has the same camera setup as the OnePlus 7 pro but with a little bit upgrade which means if you were not happy with the OnePlus 7 Pro cameras then you will be very happy with OnePlus 7T Pro cameras.

Quick Note OnePlus 7T Pro isn’t a big upgrade from the OnePlus 7T and 7 Pro, so don’t waste your money on OnePlus 7T Pro and wait for the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro.

Battery Life: with a little bit of upgrade

From the OnePlus 7 to the OnePlus 7T Pro, the company didn’t provide a huge upgrade but according to OnePlus, the OnePlus 7T Pro will be charged faster than any oneplus device. By the way, the phone has a 4,085 mAh battery with 30W warp charge support.

Nothing new in terms of a new device, yet it’s a “Pro“.

I have added this line in every Mobile Review, so here we go “Battery life will depend on your daily uses like what kind of games you are playing, how much time you spend on a mobile phone, etc.”

So no matter how much bigger the battery phone has, it will depend on your daily uses.

OnePlus 7T Pro: conclusion

Image: twitter@oneplus

OnePlus 7T Pro is a solid device and it’s one of the best and most powerful smartphones available in the market right now.

As I have said, it’s not a huge upgrade but still, if you are one of those people who want to use the latest smartphone then yes OnePlus 7T Pro is the best phone for you, it has almost everything which you will need in a Flagship smartphone.

Now, if you own a OnePlus 7T or OnePlus 7 Pro, or even the OnePlus 7 then the OnePlus 7T Pro is not worth upgrading because you are already using the best smartphone.

I have mentioned the Pros and Cons of the OnePlus 7T Pro, now it’s your choice whether you want to buy or upgrade to this new OnePlus 7T Pro or not.
