iQOO Z7 Pro 5G Rear Camera Closer look

iQOO is a gaming mobile brand but now, it looks like they’re moving toward the safe category which is providing a balanced smartphone that doesn’t focus on one thing and this is the biggest problem with the IQOO Z7 Pro 5G.

The device comes in Blue Lagoon and Graphite Matte color options while it’s available via Amazon IN.

iQOO Z7 Pro 5G Review

Yes, the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is worth buying but it’s not for everyone because it doesn’t have good cameras and the performance is not solid for the price it comes with. If you’re looking for a design-centric smartphone with a curved display then do consider this device otherwise skip it.

Now, the performance is good but it’s not made for heavy gamers. For normal gamers, this can be a good option.

The cameras are not good at all, it doesn’t justify the Rs 23,999 price tag at all.

For a more, in-depth look, let’s dive into the smartphone.

Display and Build

The 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel is solid as usual, there is nothing to worry about at the same time, the 1300 nits brightness will ensure that everything will be visible on the screen under the sunlight.

By the way, the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G has a curved display which does feel premium and you will have a fun time using the device in day-to-day usage.

The only thing is, it will be a bit hard to find tempered glass but other than that, iQOO has done a spectacular job when it comes to display.

The in-display fingerprint sensor works as well as any other optical sensor, it works well.

The frames are made from plastic while there is glass on the back but iQOO didn’t mention what kind of protection they have used on the back as well as on the front display.

Now, the build quality is solid and also, and everyone will use a cover on the back. For those who don’t like to use a cover, make sure to at least get a tempered glass because it has a curved display.

iQOO has also added widevine L1 support and it also comes with HDR10+ support but for some reason, the HDR doesn’t work in any OTT platforms whether it’s Netflix or even Prime video but yes, you will be able to watch FHD+ content.

The iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is 7.4mm but it also comes with a smaller battery due to its slimmer design. The good news is, it only has 175 grams of weight.

The end news is, if you’re a fan of slim design and want to use a curved display smartphone but at an affordable price tag then the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G could be the smartphone you’re looking for.

Now, don’t just come to the conclusion because we’re yet to find out how’s the cameras and many other things, so let’s dive into it.

Performance

iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is not a proper gaming smartphone, this is more of a balanced smartphone which is not a bad thing at all because iQOO is also offering iQOO Neo 7 Pro, so this makes sense.

The Mediatek Dimensity 7200 is a solid processor that will handle almost everything but keep in mind it won’t give you the best gaming experience, except above-average gaming which is fine because the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is more focused on the design side of things.

The BGMI will run at 60Hz in smooth settings while the same is with COD Mobile.

The chipset doesn’t get hot, but if you play games for hours, it will get hot, just like any other mind-budget smartphone.

The iQOO Z7 Pro 5G runs on Fun Touch OS 13 based on Android 13,  iQOO has also promised 2 years of OS updates and 3 years of security updates. The keyword here is promised, so do whatever you want with promise.

Keep in mind, that the device will not get immediate updates, you will have to wait for six months or even a year to get the latest Android OS updates.

Also, the Fun Touch OS comes with a hell of a lot of bloatware along with ads that can be disabled but not 100%.

iQOO Z7 Pro 5G is not for gamers, this is a balanced smartphone which means if you’re a casual gamer and want good good-looking smartphone with above-average performance then this could be the smartphone for you.

Cameras

The iQOO Z7 Pro 5G comes with a 64MP primary sensor + 2MP depth sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. The Rear cameras can shoot videos at 4k@30fps and 1080p@30fps while the front can only shoot at 1080p@30fps.

There is no OIS, the phone relies 100% on EIS.

The cameras are more of the same as any other budget Vivo’s smartphone, there is nothing new about them at all.

You will get social media-ready images, which means, most of the images will have boosted colors while when it comes to human subjects, the sensors will whiten the images.

So yes, you will look a bit white compared to what you’re in real life, this means, you don’t have to edit any of the photos at all.

I’m not a big fan of this kind of color but this is what most of the users love and that’s what iQOO or Vivo has provided with the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G.

Now, of course, you can use Pro mode but I don’t think normal users will spend 10 to 15 minutes adjusting the settings to just take one picture.

Also, iQOO has added tons of filters within the stock cameras app.

The 16MP front camera is kind of the same, it takes white images with softness. This is nothing new, the same formula has been used by many Chinese brands whether it’s OPPO, RealMe, or even Vivo.

The end story is, don’t buy the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G for the cameras. This is more focused on design and looks while the cameras and performance are good but it’s not as good as the Rs 23,999 price tag.

Check out the raw camera samples of iQOO Z7 Pro 5G.

Audio and Battery Life

A single speaker in Rs 23,999 smartphone is not justifiable at all but this is what it is now, By the way, there is no 3.5mm audio jack present on this device.

So yes, the speaker quality is not that good but the microphone quality is solid and you won’t face any sort of problems at all while iQOO has added 10 5G bands which means, you will able to use 5G without any sort of problems.

As I have said, this is the slimmest smartphone that comes with one disadvantage which is the battery.

The 4,600mAh battery is solid but it’s not as good as 5,000mAh. So expect around 1 day of battery life with normal usage but if you’re heavy users then you will have to charge this phone twice a day.

iQOO has also added an 80W charger in the box but the reality is the phone only supports 66W charging. It will take about 22 minutes to charge from 0% to 50%.
