Infinix Note 12 Review with Pros and Cons: But Why?

Infinix Note 12 Review

So Infinix Note 12 and Note 12 Turbo have the same specifications, the only difference is the processor and that’s it, the cameras, battery size, and even the displays are the same on both of these smartphones.

Now, I have already reviewed the Infinix Note 12 Turbo, so, here you might find something similar in this review.

Infinix Note 12 Price in India

The Infinix Note 12 price in India starts from Rs 12,999 for 4GB of Ram and 64MP storage while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 12,999.

The device comes with Force Black, Sunset Gold, and Jewel Blue color options and it will be available from the 27th of May 2022 via Flipkart at noon.

Infinix Note 12 Review

No, the Infinix Note 12 is not worth buying because it’s a straight-up re-brand of the Infinix Note 11 while Infinix Note 1 is available at Rs 10499, so it doesn’t make any sense to pay Rs 11,999 for the Infinix Note 12 and the fact that both of these phones have the same specs.

I don’t get why Infinix launched the Infinix Note 12 in India, I get it, they want to make money but still, it doesn’t make any sense to launch the same smartphone under a different name.

Overall, if you want a different design and if you want to spend Rs 1500 extra then yes, you can buy the Infinix Note 12 otherwise, save that Rs 1500 and go with Infinix Note 11 or take look at this list.

Display

The Infinix Note 12 comes with a 6.70-inches 60Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with an 85.5 percent Screen-to-body ratio and 1000 nits of pick brightness.

I just love that Infinix went with an AMOLED panel rather than a 120hz LCD but, I would have loved more if they had added an in-display fingerprint sensor rather than the side-mounted.

By the way, this is the first Infinix smartphone that comes with Widevine L1 support which means, you will be able to stream FHD+ contact on OTT platforms.

The front side is protected with Gorilla Glass 3 while the rear and back are made out of plastic. Infinix has changed its design this time, so do let me know what you think about that back-side design because the device has a huge waterdrop display on the front.

I don’t get why, mobile brands are giving waterdrop notch in 2022, it’s 2019 all over again which is not a good thing.

By the way, if you love to watch movies or even Youtube Videos on a smartphone then you will love the Infinix Note 12 because it has a pick brightness of 1000 nits which means, there won’t be any kind of issue while using the smartphone outdoors.

Overall, for the price of Rs 11,999, you can’t complain much about the display, it’s a great AMOLED display.

Performance

We have seen MediaTek Helio G88 on a quit of few smartphones and almost all the phones are working fine.

The MediaTek Helio G88 is not a gaming processor but you will be able to play a little bit of gaming but don’t expect to play games like BGMI or COD Mobile at high graphics.

We all know that MediaTek Helio G8 doesn’t support a 5G network which means, you’re stuck with 4G.

Things get a little bit messy when it comes to UI.

The Infinix Note 12 is running on XOS 10.6 based on Android 12, Infinix didn’t say anything to update the future update yet.

I’m not a big fan of custom UI, I prefer stock UI or any other UI.

Now, if you’re okay with custom UI then you will be more than happy with XOS because the UI has all the features that most of the other custom UI have.

Also, like any other custom UI, there will be some ads here and there, just like MIUI and RealMe UI. Other than that, you won’t face any kind of problem while using the smartphone.

Overall, there won’t be any problem while using smartphones in daily life but if you’re a gamer then this is not the best option. Do take look at the Infinix Note 11s or Infinxi Note 12 Turbo.

Cameras

The Infinix Note 12 comes with a 48MP primary sensor, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP AI sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the Rear and front cameras can shoot videos at 1440p@30fps and 1080p@30fps.

Now, let’s just forget that 2MP+2MP cameras, those sensors are added for showcase only, they won’t provide any kind of value what’s so ever.

Coming to the 48MP primary sensor,

This sensor takes good images when there is good light or taking images under the sunlight but when it comes to low light, the sensor suffers a lot, even night mode doesn’t help much.

At night, there will be lots of noise in images while it tries to over-expose the images and in between that, it loses details.

Again, just like any other affordable smartphone, the images will be a bit saturated.

By the way, the phone doesn’t have OIS support, so the videos won’t come out the stable.

Talking about that 16MP selfie shooter,

We have seen that when the smartphone is priced below Rs 15000 then most mobile brand doesn’t work on front cameras, they just whiten the sensor and that’s it.

What I’m saying is, that the selfie will come out a bit white which means, there is no need to use any kind of filter, the sensor will take care of everything.

Also, when you’re taking videos from the front cameras, the video won’t come out well, there is some issue with the dynamic range and I don’t think Infinix will solve it because the same issue is still, present on Infinix Note 11 Series.

Overall, Infinix Note 12 has decent cameras but still at Rs 11999, you can’t complain much.

Here, are the Camera samples of Infinix Note 12…

Audio Quality

Just like any other Infinix smartphone, this too doesn’t have a secondary noise cancellation microphone which is not good for calling.

Also, there is no carrier aggregation too.

The Infinix Note 12 does have stereo speakers but they can’t be called stereo because the upper side of the speaker is not that loud, you will only hear sound from the bottom speaker.

Technically, the phone has stereo speakers but in reality, it’s just one good speaker.

Battery Life

The Infinix Note 12 has a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.

The device will last for a day and a half but it also depends on how you use the smartphone.

If you will play games for five to six hours then you will have to charge the device two times but if you’re a casual user then the device can also last for more than a day.
