Vivo is back with another V series smartphone, the Vivo V27 Pro has almost the same design and features as the last gen, the only differentiator is the cameras and the increase in price.

So let’s see the good and bad things about Vivo V27 Pro but before that, let me share your India price.

The device is available in Magic Blue and Noble Black color options and it will go for sale on 5th March 2023 via Flipkart.

What’s Good

Cameras

Vivo is known for its cameras and there is nothing new when it comes to Vivo V27 Pro 5G, also for the first time, Vivo has added a 4k@30/60fps video option in front cameras as well.

This is Vivo’s smartphone, so expect a bit extra saturation in the rear as well as the front cameras. There is also a dedicated night mode available in photos as well as in video which works perfectly fine.

So whenever you want to shoot videos at night, make sure you enable the night mode in videos for better quality.

Vivo has also added OIS in 50MP primary sensor, so if you’re a vlogger or just wanted to shoot videos while walking then OIS will help a lot.

Of course, a little bit of shakiness will be there but that won’t be a huge problem.

8MP ultra-wide lens is there which does take good images but it’s not anything extraordinary, it’s just the small sensor that captures wider images. It would have been better if Vivo had used a bigger sensor because this nearly 40k smartphone.

Also, that 2MP macro sensor is there for showcase, so skip it.

Now, the 50MP selfie shooter does take good images and you will love the feature Vivo has added from wedding Photography to various filters that can be used for social media.

When it comes to extremely low light, the camera does suffer a bit but that’s a normal thing for Vivo’s smartphone.

Overall, for the price of Rs 37,999, Vivo has done a good job which reflects well in real-life usage.

Display

The Vivo V27 Pro comes with a 6.78-inches 120Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor which works fine as always.

Now, the display brightness is good enough to use the phone outdoors, so there won’t be any kind of issue while playing games or doing any sort of work under the sunlight.

By the way, the phone has a curved panel which looks amazing but be careful with it because it can be cracked easily.

In short, the display is solid and you will be more than happy with the display.

Performance

For the price of Rs 37999, the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 is not a powerful processor available nonetheless, it’s also not the worst processor available at the 38k price tag.

The Mediatek Dimensity 8200 is comparable to Snapdragon 888 SoC, so yes, you can expect good gaming and there won’t be any sort of problem while doing any kind of work.

For context, Vivo’s sub-brand recently launched the iQOO Neo 7 5G which also has the Mediatek Dimensity 8200 and available at Rs 29,999.

As you can see, Vivo is charging a bit extra for the same SoC but at the same time, Vivo is also offering a bit better cameras & Design.

The device runs on Fun Touch OS 13 based on Android 13 while it will get 3 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.

Now, this is just a promise which can change any movement as OnePlus changed with the OnePlus 11R 5G from 4 years of OS update to 3.

So take the OS updates with a grain of salt.

Battery

The phone comes with a 4,600mAh battery which will last for a day but if you’re a heavy user who loves to play games, watch movies, use social media, and even takes calls for hours then expect the battery to last for half a day.

Again, the phone does come with a 66W charger in the box which will take only 10 minutes to charge from 0% to 50% in 10 minutes and 0% to 100% in 27 minutes.

What’s Bad

Build Quality

This is Rs 37999 smartphone and yet it has a plastic frame which does look good but it doesn’t feel good at all.

Vivo has added a glass back that has a color-changing feature which is, of course, gimmicky.

Now, you might feel existed for one or two days but after that, you will use the case and that color-changing back will be gone.

The moral of the story is, Vivo is charging extra money for the back design. Now design is subjective, so you have to choose one, value money device or this.

Single Speaker

Believe it or not but Vivo has only added a single bottom speaker in the Vivo V27 Pro 5G which feels like cheating because this is a 38k device.

Now, the single speaker does work well but it’s nowhere near a stereo speaker. It’s a huge cost-cutting that happened because of the back design.

Price

I know, Vivo is a premium brand and they will sell a hell of a lot of units in the offline market but at the same time, it’s my duty to tell you whether the Vivo V27 pro 5G is a value-for-money device or not. The answer is no, the Vivo V27 Pro 5G is not value for money device.

At this movement, we have OnePlus 11R 5G which is priced at Rs 40k and has better specs than the Vivo V27 Pro 5G, so I would highly suggest you spend 2k extra and consider the OnePlus 11R 5G.

Still, those who wanted to buy Vivo’s smartphone can consider the Vivo V27 Pro 5G.

Summary

Yes, Vivo V27 Pro 5G is worth buying but it’s not value for money device, it does offer great cameras and even good performance but the rest of the specs are not as good as its Rs 37,999 price tag, however, its good option for those who wanted to buy Vivo Branded smartphone.

Also, if you’re not into heavy gaming then do consider the Vivo V27 5G.
