Is Samsung Galaxy F54 5G for everyone, the answer is no because it has lots of flaws which is not acceptable for the Rs 29,999 price tag. So let’s find out whether you should spend 30k on this device or not.

Samsung Galaxy F54 5G Review

Galaxy F54 5G is for those users who wanted to buy a good Samsung Smartphone for a good price as it has Exynos 1380, 4 years of OS updates, and even 108MP triple cameras but it’s not made for those users who wanted value for money device for Rs 30,000 price tag.

So yes, the Galaxy F54 5G is worth buying and it does have features like proper OneUI support, a sharper sAMOLED panel, a massive 6000mAh battery, and even longer software support. However, if you want the best phone then consider phones like Nothing Phone 1, or even Motorola Edge 40.

Display and Build

The phone has a massive 6.70-inch sAMOLED display with HDR10 support and the good news is, you can stream HDR content on Netflix and even on YouTube.

Also, the phone has a decent 800 nits brightness which is not the best but it gets the job done.

As this is a Rs 30000 smartphone, I would have loved to see the above 1000 nits but as this is a Samsung phone, it’s hard to get it.

Still, there won’t be any sort of problem while using the phone outdoors but if you’re in extreme sunlight then you won’t get the best viewing experience.

The big letdown is, not having an in-display fingerprint sensor. This is cost-cutting because the phone has an AMOLED panel, so it‘s not that hard to add an in-display fingerprint sensor at all.

The build quality is not that great either, it has a plastic back and a plastic frame, and the front is protected with Gorilla Glass 5.

What I’m saying is, the phone does look great from the outside but when you hold it, all these feelings go away because of the plastic build.

On top of that, the plastic is glossy, so it will leave fingerprints.

Overall, the Galaxy F54 5G does have solid build quality but the same can’t be said for the build, also, the 800 nits brightness is not the best for the Rs 30,000 price tag.

Performance and Software

The Exynos 1380 is not a powerful SoC at all, it provides performance close to the Snapdragon 778G which was launched years ago.

In short, the Galaxy F54 5G is not for power-hungry users. Buy it, if you’re not into gaming and you don’t use smartphones outdoors a lot.

The reason is, the phone gets a bit hot when you use it under the sunlight for more than 20 minutes.

Still, for normal usage, you won’t face any kind of problems at all. You can play games like BGMI, PUBG New State, or even COD Mobile but the experience won’t be good after 30 minutes.

It also has 10 5G Bands but for some reason, on Flipkart, it only shows the 6 5G bands which are N1(2100), N3(1800), N5(850), N7(2600), N8(900), and N28(700).

Nonetheless, you will be able to take advantage of the 5G network, if it’s available in your city.

The good news is, Samsung Galaxy F54 5G has NFC support which is kind of rare to find in India under the Rs 30,000 price range. So you can use Samsung Pay without any issues.

The big news is,

Samsung has promised 5 years of security updates and 4 years of OS updates which means, the Galaxy F54 5G will get Android 14, 15, 16, and 17.

Samsung is also good with providing updates, so there won’t be any issues with the update cycle.

This is a proper OneUI with all the features. Fyi, it runs on OneUI 5.10 based on Android 13.

Again, there is no complaint about the OS at all, its well optimized and feature-rich UI from Samsung.

Overall, for the price of Rs 30,000, the Galaxy F54 5G is not a powerful smartphone and it is made for the casual user who doesn’t play mobile games for hours while the OS is highlighting along with 5 years of update cycle.

Cameras

Guess what, there is nothing extraordinary about Galaxy F54 5G cameras and still, this is a Rs 30,000 smartphone which is not acceptable at all.

The 108MP primary sensor does have OIS which works great when shooting videos at 1080@30/60fps but it doesn’t work the best at 4k@30fps.

While the videos are not close to natural, it boosts the colors a little bit and it’s more on the softer side even in good lighting conditions.

Again, shoot videos at night, if there is good lighting but if there is not then you won’t get the best videos at all.

The same goes for photography as well.

The images are not the saturated side which means, if you love natural colors like I do then you won’t like the Galaxy F54 5G cameras.

I mean, Nothing Phone 1 takes better images than the Galaxy F54 5G which is huge because Nothing Phone 1 was launched a year ago.

The good news is, there is no issue with dynamic range or even with portrait images.

The 8MP ultra-wide takes good images under good lights but it does soften the images while avoid using the ultra-wide lens at night because this is a smaller sensor, so it won’t provide good details.

So yes, Samsung should have added at least 16MP or 12MP ultra-wide instant of 8MP.

The 2MP macro sensor is there.

Talking about the 32MP selfie shooter, this takes good images and I mean it. So if you’re into selfies and wanted a good smartphone that takes good selfies then you might need to consider the Samsung Galaxy F54 5G.

Again, the images are not on the saturated side which won’t be a huge problem for anyone as most Indian users love this kind of color.

This is the main reason why Vivo and OPPO phones are popular in the offline market.

By the way, Samsung has added tons of filters like Snapchat, so use it to post the same on social media.

Overall, the Galaxy F54 5G doesn’t have the best cameras nor it’s competing with anyone as the user who buys Samsung phones doesn’t care much about the price-to-performance ratio.

In short, buy Samsung Galaxy F54 5G, if you’re okay with decent cameras that provide saturated colors.

Audio

Let me give you a shock, the Galaxy F54 5G doesn’t have a stereo speaker or even a 3.5mm Audio jack, and yet, it’s priced at Rs 29,999.

The single speaker is not good at all, I mean, we have a phone that provides dual speakers and even a 3.5mm audio jack, and here, we have a Samsung phone with a single speaker.

It does have carrier aggregation support, so there won’t be any issue with calling.

Battery Life

No charger in the box but it does support 25W wired charging which will take 2 hours and 20 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% because it has a massive 6,000mAh battery.

No problems with battery life at all, you will easily get the two days battery life.

Also, the gaming performance is not that great, so you won’t play games for hours on this phone, so this way, you will save a lot of battery life.

By the way, a 25W Samsung Official charger costs Rs 1,299 which means if you don’t have the charger at home then you will have to spend money, and if you do then the phone price comes down to Rs 29,999 + Rs 1,299 = Rs 31,298.
