After a Long time, I can say that Samsung’s smartphone is fairly priced but that doesn’t mean, it’s the best smartphone under 15k, it means, it’s the best Samsung smartphone available under 15k in India.

Samsung Galaxy F14 5G Price

  • 4GB Ram + 128GB Storage: Rs 14,490
  • 6GB Ram + 128GB Storage: Rs 15,990

The device comes in Violet, and Green color options and it will be available from 30th March 2023 via Flipkart at noon.

Is it Worth Buying Samsung Galaxy F14?

Yes, the Galaxy F14 5G is worth buying as it offers decent Exynos 1330 SoC, two days battery life, Core OneUI with extended features, 25W charging support, 13 5G Bands, and even decent cameras for the price it comes. Overall, it’s a good smartphone to consider for a 15k price tag.

Now, the phone also has some flaws like low brightness, LCD Panel, and a single speaker.

Also, if you don’t care about the 5G then do take look at the RealMe C55 which is available at Rs 10,999.

Display

The Galaxy F14 5G comes with a 6.60-inches 90Hz LCD display with a pick brightness of 480 nits. Yes, the screen brightness is low, you will notice this when you go out and you have to read a text message.

Now, I don’t have any problems with the LCD panel as this is a 5G smartphone, and it’s priced at 15k but that 480nits brightness is not good at all for outdoor usage.

On the front, Samsung has used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while the back and frames are made from plastic.

Now, the problem is, the phone has a waterdrop notch along with huge bezels all around it. This looks very old, so if you’re okay with that design then it’s good otherwise, this isn’t the best design, especially in 2023

Also, the phone does have Wide-vine L1 supports and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Overall, the display is not the best for the 15k price tag, especially, if you gonna use this device outdoors a lot compared to indoors.

Performance

The Exynos 1330 (5nm) is a good processor and it won’t you any sort of problems in day-to-day usage but it’s not made for gaming at all, I mean, non of the Exynos processor are made for gaming.

Now, you can play games like COD Mobile with medium graphics but after some time, you will see frames drop and the device will get hot.

The phone runs on Core OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13, Samsung has also promised 2 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.

Core OneUI is not the same as OneUI, however, for the first time, Samsung has added features like Knox Security, and Secured folder to the Core OneUI 5.1 but for time being, it doesn’t have the screen recording option.

In short, the Core OneUI is now, the same as OneUI minus the screen recording option. Also, Samsung has added 13 5G bands, so if you have 5G in your city then you will be able to take advantage of the fastest network.

Cameras

Check out the Camera Samples of Galaxy F14 5G (Google Drive Link)

The Galaxy F14 5G has 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor while there is a 13MP front camera. Both cameras can shoot videos at 1080p@30fps.

The phone does have a massive 50MP sensor but it doesn’t reflect well in real-life usage, it feels more like an 8MP sensor rather than 50MP.

Still, keeping all the other features in mind, the Galaxy F14 5G has good cameras. It takes good images under low light but the same can’t be said for low light.

Now, low-light performance is not that bad but it’s also not the best.

Overall, if you wanted a 5G smartphone then yes, the Galaxy F14 5G has good cameras but if you wanted value for a money device then no, the Galaxy F14 5G doesn’t have good cameras.

The reason is simple, Samsung used all of its money to add a 5G network rather than working on the cameras. I mean, look at the RealMe C55, this is a 4G smartphone and it has better cameras than the Galaxy F14 5G.

Audio and Battery Life

It has a single speaker but it does have a 3.5mm audio jack. I get it, Samsung should have added the stereo speaker but keep in mind, this is Samsung (FYI, I don’t hate Samsung, I’m just using their past record).

The 6,000mAh battery will last for two days but if you really push then still, you will end up with 1-day of battery life.

Also, no charger in the box, buy a new 25W wired charger or use whatever you have at home.

For reference, the Samsung Branded 25W charger will cost about 1,099.

Summary

The Galaxy F14 5G is not value for money device but it does offer something that lots of users are looking for which is “5G Connectivity Under Rs 15,000” and that’s what Samsung tried to offer. So if you wanted Samsung’s 5G smartphone then go for it otherwise, look around, there are many good options available.
