JioTag Review: How it Works and How to Connect

jioTag Inside first look

This is Jio’s attempt to make Apple Airtag at an affordable price, but guess what they have failed big time. Let me tell you why?

By the way, JioTag is priced at Rs 750 via Jio.com. Now, the price will go up or down because the official reial box says, it’s priced at Rs 2,199.

JioTag Review

The answer is NO, the Jiotag is not worth buying because it doesn’t show the live location. So it doesn’t have a useful feature that will come in handy.

Now, JioTag does have a Speaker but it’s not that loud, so if you somehow put the tag below the pillow then you won’t even hear the sound coming out of Jiotag.

What I’m saying is, don’t buy the product because it’s made by Jio. Still, if you have an extra Rs 750 and want to try out the product then go for it.

Also, the battery will last for 9 to 12 months, depending on how you use it. Jio has also added an extra battery inside the box for free of cost.

So If you ask me, I don’t recommend the Jiotag because it’s just Bluetooth Button that costs Rs 750.

How Jiotag Works?

Jio is using Bluetooth to track the Jiotag. The Tag will be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth just like TWS earbuds. It has Bluetooth 5.10 Version.

It has Upto 20 meters indoors Upto and 50 meters outdoors (Direct line of sight) Range.

It can also show the last location but it doesn’t show the live location like Apple AirTag.

This means, if you have attached JioTag to your bag and if you left the bag somewhere then you won’t able to see the live location of your bag.

It will only show you the last seen location.

This is the last seen location where the JioTag was connected to your phone.

As I have said, if you go too far then the JioTag will get discounted just like TWS earbuds.

How to Connect Jiotag to Your Smartphone

1. Download the JioThings from either App Store or Play Store

    2. Login with Your Jio account and Create New Account.

    3. Now, tap on ADD NEW button.

    6. There, select the Jiotag.

    7. After Selecting the Jiotag, long press on JioTag Button and wait for a few seconds.

    8. Here, the Jiotag will appear on your smartphone screen, there tap on the plus icon.

    9. In the end, it will start the connecting process, so wait for a few seconds.

    10. That’s it, now your JioTag is connected to your smartphone.

    Verdict

Jiotag would have been a killer alternative to the Apple AirTag but it didn’t happen because of the poor execution of Jio, they just wanted to make a cheap version and this is where they failed big time.

So if you want, save Rs 750 and buy something useful or just keep that money.

Still, feel free to comment, if you have any kind of questions.
