Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G

There is no doubt, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus is a bit pricey, the phone should have launched at 19k but that didn’t happen.

So let’s review the newly launched Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus and find out whether it’s worth your money or not.

Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G Price in India

The device is available in Phantom White, Mirage Blue, and Stealth Black color options and it will go for sale on 15th March 2022 via Amazon at noon.

Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G Review

Yes, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G is worth buying but it’s a bit pricey, the phone should have been launched at 19k, Redmi needs to work on the cameras to justify the 21k price tag otherwise, it’s a decent smartphone for casual users.

The phone has almost everything that you will need in day-to-day life, the cameras are also good, still, I feel, Redmi need to work on the camera, one or two OTA update can improve the cameras.

So if you want that 120Hz AMOLED display, 67W fast charging support, and decent performance then you can pay Rs 20,999 and buy Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G but if you want great cameras then you should skip this device.

You already know, I have just reviewed the Redmi Note 11 Pro and as I have said, redmi has just changed the processor on Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, and the rest of it is the same as Redmi Note 11 Pro.

So you might find some similarities in this review.

Display Quality

We have the same display as Redmi Note 10 Pro, with no changes…

The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G comes with a 6.67-inches 120Hz AMOLED display with 1200 nits pick brightness and 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution.

The front is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 while there is glass on the back and the frame is made out of plastic.

As of now, we have two phones under Rs 20,000 that have a 120Hz AMOLED display, both of them are from Xiaomi and both of them don’t have 5G support.

So yes, there is nothing to worry about the display, Redmi has used the best display.

There won’t be any kind of problems while playing games or watching movies. Also, it does have Widevine L1 support, so yes, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT apps.

Overall, just like last year, can’t complain much about the display because it’s the same as Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Cameras

Let me tell you one thing if the phone has a bigger sensor like 64MP or even 108MP that doesn’t mean, the phone will give the best images.

Companies like Xiaomi and RealMe add bigger sensors, so they can market the smartphone and that’s it, there is nothing more to it.

So be careful when you see bigger sensors on budget smartphones.

Now, coming to the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G…

It has a 108MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro sensor while there is a 16MP selfies shooter on the front side.

Both the front and rear cameras can shoot videos up to 1080p@30fps.

This phone is priced at Rs 20,999 and yet, Redmi didn’t add support for 1080p@60fps which is not acceptable.

The videos do come out great under good lighting but when it comes to low lights or when we shoot video at night, it loses out on details and the sensor is trying to sharpen the video.

I feel Redmi needs to work on the video because this doesn’t feel like a 21k smartphone, it is giving a 15k vibe which is not good.

The front camera also takes decent videos, just like the rear cameras.

The 108MP sensor captures a good image, the details come out good, no issue with the dynamic range too. The night photos also come out well.

Now, that 8MP ultra-wide lens also takes a good image but when it comes to low lights, it loses out on details and this can be fixed with an OTA update.

Still, it depends on Redmi whether they gonna fix this issue or not.

By the way, the night ultra-wide images are usable but they don’t give that 18k vibe.

Now, the 2MP sensor is added for marketing only, so we gonna skit it.

Coming to the front side, the 16MP selfie shooter takes some great images, the details are good, and the dynamic range.

For the first time I feel, Xiaomi is not trying is saturated the colors, they’re going for natural colors which is a great thing for users.

Overall, if we put that 108MP sensor aside then still, I feel, redmi needs to work on the camera department to justify the Rs 20,999 price tag.

Now, the phone doesn’t have a bad camera but it’s also not the best too, you can call these decent cameras which can be improved with OTA updates.

Performance

We have recently seen, the Snapdragon 695 processors on RealMe 9 Pro and Motorola G71 5G, and both of these phones are priced at 18k.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G is also powered by Snapdragon 695 SoC and runs on MIUI 13 based on Android 12. Now, Android 12 was launched months ago and yet, Redmi didn’t launch this phone with Android 12?

But why?

Redmi has promised 2 years of OS updates, so this way, they don’t have to update this phone to Android 14. So yes, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G will get Android 12 and 13 updates and that’s it, no Android 14.

By the way, Snapdragon 695 SoC is a powerful processor and there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or in day-to-day life.

Also, it has 5G support while Redmi has added 7 5G bands.

Overall, yes, Snapdragon 695 SoC doesn’t worth the 21k price tag because we can get the same SoC at 18k too but Redmi has also added a 120Hz AMOLED display, so they’re charging a little bit more.

Audio Quality

The Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G comes with a stereo speaker and the quality of the dual speakers is also great. Redmi has also added secondary noise-cancellation microphone too which will help a lot in calling.

It also has a 3.5mm audio jack, so you can use wired as well as Bluetooth earphones.

Overall, there won’t be any kind of issue with calling as well as audio, Redmi has done a great job this time.

Battery Life

It has a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, the phone will take only 15 minutes to charge from 0% to 51%.

That 67W charger will help a lot keep in mind, that use 67W otherwise, you won’t get that super-fast charging speed.

Overall, the battery will last for a day, the Snapdragon 695 SoC is power-efficient SoC and it will give better battery life.

Verdict

As I have said, Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G is a good smartphone but it’s not for everyone, now, if you’re paying 21k then I would recommend you to consider the Realme 9 Pro Plus 5G which will cost you 25k but you will get an overall, better smartphone.

Also, if you don’t care about 5G then do take look at Redmi Note 10 Pro and if you want 5G then still, Motorola G71 5G or RealMe 9 Pro 5G would be a good option.
