The SoC is the highlighted feature of this phone and that’s it, cameras are kind of average, the phone is made out of plastic but it does have good battery life and it’s also priced at Rs 26,999 which is a fair price for RealMe X7 Max 5G.

Display Quality

The RealMe X7 Max 5G comes with a 6.43-inches 120Hz AMOLED display which is the best thing you can get in a smartphone. Also, RealMe has a good quality display, so there won’t be any problem while playing games or watching movies.

Talking about movies, the phone does have support for Widevine L1 which means you can stream FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Video. As per some sources, the RealMe has used Dragontrail Glass on RealMe X7 Max 5G but RealMe hasn’t confirmed which kind of protection they have used on the front display.

Also, the phone is powered by powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and this processor can handle 120Hz display without any problem, so there won’t be any kind of problems while scrolling through apps or just using social media apps.

Overall, the RealMe X7 Max 5G has the best display quality but the same can’t tell for the display protection.

Build Quality

Let’s not talk much about build quality because the phone is made out of plastic and as I said, RealMe hasn’t confirmed which kind of protection they have used on the front display.

Also, most of the people in India use cover cases, so it doesn’t matter whether the phone has glass or plastic. Still, if you don’t use a cover case or want a premium feel then RealMe X7 Max 5G is not the best option as it has a Glass front, plastic frame, plastic back.

Performance

MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G (6 nm) is the flagship processor from MediaTek and it’s by far the best processor ever produced by MediaTek. Fun fact, RealMe X7 Max 5G is powered by Dimensity 1200 which means there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or just using smartphones, everything will perform like butter.

The RealMe X7 Max also has N1/N28A/N40/N41/N77/N78/N79, 5G bands. Also, most of the phones come with one or two 5G bands but this phone has almost 7 5G bands that mean when 5G comes in India, the phone will support a 5G network, it won’t be like OnePlus Nord which has only 1 5G band.

By the way, MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is built on 6nm architecture, this means, Dimensity 1200 balanced chipset, it’s not like, GPU is powerful and CPU is not.

AnTuTu benchmark test 702338 points
Geekbench benchmark (Single-core)933
Geekbench benchmark (Multi-core)3366

I have also played some of the popular games like COD Mobile and many others and I haven’t face any kind of problem, also, the 120Hz refresh rate helps a lot while gaming.

The RealMe X7 Max is running on RealMe UI 2.0-based on Android 11, the OS does have ads in the UI but it’s not slow, RealMe has optimized the OS for chipset, everything does seem smooth even with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Overall, you won’t face any kind of problem while playing games or even watching movies as the phone has support for Widevine L1. All in all, RealMe X7 Max is a powerful smartphone at a good price tag.

Cameras

The RealMe X7 Max comes with a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro lens while there is a 16MP selfie shooter. The phone can shoot 4k@60fps & 1080p@60fps with Real cameras while the front can shoot up to1080p@30fps only.

The phone is priced at 27k and this price, an instant of a macro lens, RealMe should have given a telephoto lens or they should have gone with a dual camera and improved the other two lenses.

Talking about the 16MP Ultra-wide lens, the lens does take some good quality images but when it comes to low light or night photography, images don’t look good. Ultra-wide, the lens tries to overexpose the images and this is where it loses out on details.

Now, the cameras can be improved with the OTA update but when they gonna do it, no one knows. My point is, don’t buy anything on a future promise, buy a product as is its condition.

In short, try not to use an Ultra-wide lens at night, always go with a 64MP primary sensor.

Shot with 64MP Sensor

Coming back to the 64MP sensor, the lens does take good images in good lighting conditions and the same can be said for, night photography. Yes, RealMe has done a good job with a 64MP primary sensor.

Again, this is not a premium smartphone, so don’t expect perfect photos but considering the price tag, RealMe X7 Max has good cameras.

The phone also has dedicated NightMode which helps a lot at night but make sure not to use night mode with an ultra-wide lens, always use with the primary lens.

RealMe X7 Max also has a 16MP selfie that is okay, don’t expect to be like OPPO or Vivo. The front camera can shoot videos up to 1080@30fps, so if you shoot a video for Instagram Reals or YouTube Shorts then this could be a good option, not the best but good.

16MP Selfie Camera

If I have to put everything in one paragraph, I would say,

RealMe X7 max has a good camera setup and considering the price, one should not complain much. The phone has an average kind of camera setup. No one will give a perfect smartphone, so if you want a powerful processor then you have to compromise in cameras but if you want a balanced smartphone then make sure you check out Pixal 4A.

Audio Quality

The RealMe X7 Max comes with Stereo speakers and it’s quite loud & clear too. For example, if you’re crowded place and if you want to watch YouTube Video without earphones then you can use a smartphone speaker, you will be able to hear the audio without any problem.

In short, the phone does have good quality speakers.

It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone and it’s a good one. In short, the call quality is great, I have used Airtel SIM Card and Vodafone, and I or another person on call didn’t face any problem.

Battery Life

The RealMe X7 Max 5G does have a 4,500 mAh battery but it has support for massive 50W fast charging which means it will take only 16 minutes to charge 0% to 50%.

By the way, MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G (6 nm) is battery efficient processor and the same can be seen in real life too. For a long time, MediaTek had a problem with the battery but this processor solves that problem as this chip is built on 6 nm architecture.

Even if you’re a heavy user, the phone will last for a day but of course, if you the phone continually then you have to charge twice a day but the does support 50W fast charging, so there won’t be any kind of problem.

Conclusion

RealMe X7 Max 5G has almost everything that you expect from a premium smartphone, a powerful processor, massive 50W fast charging, solid battery life, smooth UI, 5G support with seven 5G bands, but when it comes to cameras, things don’t look too good. It doesn’t have the best camera setup, but one should not complain much considering the price tag.

In short, if your budget is about 27k and if you good smartphone then don’t look for anything else, RealMe X7 Max is a good option to go with.

Still, if you have any questions, do let me know in the comment box, I would love to help you out.
