POCO F3 GT Review
POCO F3 GT is a gaming smartphone that also has a good camera setup. The phone is built for those users who wanted to buy gaming smartphones at a mid-budget price tag and don’t want to lose out on lots of features. In short, this is the best gaming smartphone you can buy for under Rs 30,000 in INDIA.
By the way, POCO F3 GT is a 5G smartphone but it only has two 5G bands which doesn’t justify the 5G tag. So can’t call it a 5G smartphone.
POCO F3 GT Pros and Cons
PROS | CONS |
---|---|
Gaming triggers | Only Two 5G Bands |
MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC | No SD Card Slot |
120Hz AMOLED Display | No 3.5mm Audio jack |
Massive 67W Fast Charging | Decent cameras |
Stereo Speakers | |
Solid Build | |
Good Battery Life | |
Well-Priced |
Now let’s go inside the POCO F3 GT and see, what POCO has to offer with this newly launched gaming smartphone.
Display Quality
The POCO F3 GT comes with a 6.67-inches 120Hz AMOLED display and it has 500 nits of display brightness while there is 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. This is a 10-bit display with HDR10+ support.
POCO has used Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front side as well as the rear side while there is a metal frame that gives a premium feel.
If you have seen, most of the smartphone around this price range has plastic frame even OnePlus Nord 2 comes the plastic frame. So it’s good to see that POCO didn’t go with the same pattern.
The phone is also bright enough to see under the sunlight. For gaming, there is a 120Hz refresh rate display and 480Hz touch sampling rate which will assure a smooth gaming experience.
Also, I haven’t face any problem while using the 120hz option, there was no frame drop or lag while switching the apps.
Overall, POCO has used a good quality display panel that provides good colours with a smooth gaming experience at the time.
Cameras
The device features 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro lens while there 16MP selfie shooter. The rear camera can shoot video up to [email protected] while the front can record up to [email protected] The camera doesn’t have EIS or OIS support but POCO has enabled the Camera2Api.
This is a gaming smartphone but still, it has a good camera, can’t call it the best camera at a 28k price tag but considering everything, there is nothing to complain about.
The 64MP primary sensor does provide good images under good light but when it comes to low light, the sensor tries to overexpose the images and this is where it loses out on details.
Also, don’t try to use the ultra-wide lens at night because 8MP ultra-wide lens won’t give the best images, so save your time and always use the 64MP primary lens under low lights conditions.
The ultra-wide lens also captures good images in daylight but still, images turned out to be soft which is okay because this is not a camera-centric smartphone. Also, OnePlus Nord 2 5G does the same thing with an ultra-wide lens.
Now let’s just skip the 2MP sensor and jump into the 16MP selfie shooter. The front camera is good enough to take a good selfie in good lights but when it comes to low-light, images turned out to b soften.
By the way, One thing I like about the POCO F3 GT camera is its colours. As a Gaming smartphone, It tries to give natural colours.

If I have to compare OnePlus Nord 2 cameras to POCO F3 GT then I would give two extra points to OnePlus because it has OIS and it provides the best images under the low lights.
In short, if you want the best cameras then OnePlus Nord 2 5G is a better option but if you’re not into photography and you will just post images on social media then POCO F3 GT is also a good option.
Performance and Software
The POCO F3 GT is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 and it’s running on MIUI 12.5-based on Android 11. It also has 5G support but the device has only two 5G bands which include n77/n78, so yes, don’t buy POCO F3 GT because of the 5G.
We have seen MediaTek Dimensity 1200 in RealMe X7 Max 5G, OnePlus Nord 2 5G and now we have the same SoC in POCO F3 GT. I have tested the processor very well and haven’t face any problems while playing games or using social media.
In short, the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is the flagship processor from MediaTek and it’s also built on 6nm, so it’s also power efficient too.
Most mid-budget gaming smartphones don’t come with gaming triggers but that’s not the case with POCO F3 GT. So if you love to play mobile games then the gaming triggers will give you the gaming experience that you always wanted.
For gamers, POCO F3 GT has three microphones which include, one at the top, bottom and right side. So if you don’t have an external microphone then you don’t have to worry now, the third microphone will ensure everything.
Audio
Yes, the POCO F3 GT has Stereo Speakers which is loud enough and give the best audio quality.
As I have already told you, the phone has three microphones which are good for gaming but its also very good for calling too. By the way, POCO F3 GT doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack but POCO has included an audio dongle in the box.
I will just end here, if you’re public place and if you don’t have earphones with you then now, you don’t have to worry because the microphones will make sure, another person on call gets the best audio.
Battery Life
The device has a 5,060 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support and it has an L-shaped cable which helps a lot while gaming as the cable won’t disturb you while gaming.
The battery will last for a day and if you’re a heavy user who plays games all the time then no worry, the 67W fast charging will help a lot.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G Vs POCO F3 GT 5G
POCO F3 GT 5G is a gaming phone which also has a good camera but it’s not as good as OnePlus Nord 2 5G. Also, POCO F3 GT has only two 5G bands whereas OnePlus Nord 2 has six 5G bands.
Overall, for gaming POCO F3 GT is the best option but if you’re a casual gamer then OnePlus Nord 2 is a good option.
Also, I will post a full comparison of these phones by tomorrow which will clear all of your answers. Till then do take look at the specs of POCO F3 GT and OnePlus Nord 2 5G.

A grippy finish and the dimensity 1200 chipset are all you need for gaming.
Absolutely, it’s by far the best mid-budget gaming smartphone available.
For starters i have never heard of POCO before so i believe if its a first time launch they should go for a cheaper rate so that people are able to afford it not to be so greedy with the launch directly go to 26k onward…Even the humble Nokia inspite of being awesome still went with average mans budget…With so many awesome phones for the exorbitant price do you think they ll settle for your average phone ..Think about it!!
