These days, we’re not getting the best budget smartphone in India, mobile brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, and even RealMe are launching re-brand of their existing smartphones.
In between RealMe has launched RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G in India. The device is available at Rs 21,999 for 6GB of Ram and 128GB storage while the 8GB Ram and 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 23,999 in India.
Also, RealMe is offering Hyper Blue and Hyper Black color options and it will go for sale on 26th May 2022 via Amazon at noon.
RealMe has borrowed the design from the OnePlus Nord 2 CE Lite 5G and the processor from RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G.
So let’s see whether you should spend Rs 21999 to buy Narzo 50 Pro 5G or not.

RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G Review
No doubt, the RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G is a great smartphone, it has MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor, 90Hz AMOLED display, 33W fast charging, five 5G Bands, and stereo speakers but still, it doesn’t worth the Rs 21999 price tag, the phone should have launched below Rs 20000.
The phone does have a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP Rear and 16MP front camera. Now, RealMe has used a good lens but they haven’t optimized those sensors yet, so in short, don’t expect too much from the camera department, it’s not even close to RealMe 9 Pro 5G cameras.

Also, I just want to thank RealMe for adding stereo speakers, again, the speaker quality is excellent, no issue here.
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 is a good processor but as I have said in the RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G Review, the processor can handle almost all mobile games without any problem but this is not a gaming chipset.
That means, if you’re a heavy gamer who wants a dedicated gaming smartphone then stay away from the RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G and consider the RealMe 9 SE 5G (review).
Overall, for Rs 21999, you can skip the Narzo 50 Pro 5G and consider the RealMe 9 Pro 5G or if you can, go with the RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G which is available at Rs 24999.

Display Quality
The RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G comes with a 6.40-inches 90Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 1000 nits pick brightness and the front is protected with a Gorilla Glass 5 while the frame and rear are made out of plastic.
Mostly I don’t talk about the smartphone design because it’s a personal choice but here I think, I have to talk about it…
RealMe has copy-pasted the RealMe 9 Pro 5G design on Narzo 50 Pro 5G and there is nothing wrong with it but somewhere I feel that if I’m paying Rs 21999 then I expect the design to be good.
For a second I can live with the rear design but when it comes to the front side, RealMe should have changed the screen size and an especially that big chin.

As You can see in the images, the phone has a huge bottom chin on the front side and this is a 22k smartphone.
Again, as I have said, design is a personal choice and that was my opinion about the Narzo 50 Pro 5G design.
Coming back to the display, the screen brightness is great, and 1000 nits help a lot outdoors, there won’t be any kind of problems while using the smartphone under the sunlight, and the screen will be visible enough to use the smartphone.
Also that 90Hz refresh rate will help a lot in day-to-day life but keep in mind that, you won’t able to take advantage of 90Hz in gaming because as of now, most mobile games or not well-optimized for MediaTek processors.
Overall, considering the price, RealMe should have changed the front side panel and added the 120hz refresh rate but that didn’t happen still, I feel, you will be more than happy with the display.
Performance
We have recently seen MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor in RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G and now, RealMe has added the same chipset in the newly launched RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G.
The good thing is, that the device runs on RealMe UI 3.0 based on Android 12. Realme has also promised two years of OS updates and three years of security updates.
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 is a powerful processor and it can handle almost all mobile games without any problem but this is not a gaming chipset.

That means, if you’re a gamer then you should skip the RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G and take look at the RealMe 9 SE 5G.
Now, keep in mind, that if you play BGMI at the highest graphics, the game does lag a little bit, so I would recommend you play smooth at an Extreme frame rate for better gameplay.
The phone also has five 5G Bands.
Overall, for day-to-day use, you won’t face any kind of problem, the phone will work like butter but as I have said, this is not a gaming smartphone, so don’t expect that.
Cameras
It’s high time that Mobile Brands move from 8MP ultra-wide and provide a bigger ultra-wide sensor because an ultra-wide lens captures a wider area, so if the sensor is smaller then it won’t able to give good details.
That is the same case with Narzo 50 Pro 5G. That 8MP ultra-wide does take some good images when there are good lights but it comes to low light, the sensor suffers a lot.
It doesn’t provide good details and there is hall lot of noise in the images.
In short, if you can, don’t use an ultra-wide lens at night. Also, ignore the 2Mp macro sensor too, it won’t do much, it’s added for showcase only.
Coming back to the 48MP primary sensor, this is a good sensor and it can take good images but looks like, Realme didn’t work much on the sensor and that’s the reason why even the 48MP sensor is not taking good images at night.
The stock camera app does have a dedicated night mode which works but when you use night mode, it overexposes the images and in between, it loses out on details and creates too much noise.

As this is a RealMe smartphone, the images will come out a bit saturated. For example, if you’re taking images of a red flower then the sensor will make that flower extra red.
By the way, the 48MP sensor does take good images under good lights.
I didn’t talk much about the videos because the phone only supports 1080p@30fps and the same for the front camera too. In videos, it has some issues with dynamic range.
For example, if you’re taking videos under the sunlight then the sensor will overexpose the background, now, this doesn’t happen every single time which means, it can be fixed with an OTA update.
The phone also has 16MP front cameras and it’s the same as most of the other budget RealMe smartphones, the selfies will come out bright and vibrant.
Overall, RealMe needs to work a lot on the cameras department whether it’s a front or rear. So if you’re okay with decent cameras and if you believe that RealMe will improve the cameras with an OTA update then you can consider the Narzo 50 Pro 5G but if you want the best cameras then pay Rs 3000 extra and go with RealMe 9 Pro Plus 5G.
Audio Quality
So as I have said, RealMe has borrowed something from RealMe 9 Pro 5G and even from Nord 2 Lite 5G but they didn’t borrow the speaker which is a good thing.
The RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G has a stereo speaker which works fine, no issues there. Its dual speakers, so can’t complain much.
It also has a secondary noise-cancellation microphone. The RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G does have carrier aggregation support.
As this is a budget smartphone, Realme has added a 3.5mm audio jack. Overall, you will be more than happy with the microphones and even with the dual speakers too.
Battery Life
The RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The 33W charger will take about 59 minutes to charge from 0 to 100%.
The MediaTek Dimensity 920 is not a power-efficient processor but still, the 5000mAh battery will last for about a day, depending on how you use the smartphone in day-to-day life.

I feel, RealMe Narzo 50 Pro shouldn’t have existed but again, every single company wants to make money and if they launch a new smartphone then people will consider the new smartphone over an old smartphone.
If you’re okay with the LCD panel then you should save 4 thousand and go with RealMe 9 Pro 5G but if you really want that AMOLED display then what can I say, you can consider the Narzo 50 Pro 5G.
Reasons to Buy RealMe Narzo 50 Pro?
The only reason to buy RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G is the 90hz AMOLED display other than that, the phone doesn’t have any unique features that you should spend Rs 21999.
Reasons to Not Buy RealMe Narzo 50 Pro?
There are many reasons not to buy RealMe Narzo 50 Pro 5G starting from, it’s a bit pricey smartphone, only a 90hz refresh rate, the front camera needs a lot of improvement as well as the night photography too, videos don’t come out stable, No SD-card slot, and even after everything RealMe is charging Rs 21999 which is a bit pricey compared its competition.
