Yes, Motorola G71 5G is worth buying because it has a powerful Snapdragon 695 SoC, 13 5G bands, 4X4 MIMO Carrier Aggregation, solid battery life, good camera setup, AMOLED display, no ads in the UI and it does justify the Rs 18,999 price tag.

Now, Motorola has cut down some specs, like the phone doesn’t have stereo speakers and no compass sensor.

Display Quality

The Motorola G71 5G comes with 6.40-inches 60Hz AMOLED display with a pick brightness of 700 nits and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Motorola didn’t mention what kind of display protection they have used on the front while it has a plastic back and the frame is also made out of plastic.

Now even after having the AMOLED display, Motorolla diced to implement a fingerprint sensor on the rear side. By the way, the fingerprint sensor is very fast, so there won’t be any issue while unlocking the smartphone.

Also, it’s a 60Hz display, so if you want a 120Hz refresh rate screen then you have to go with an LCD panel.

If you ask me, it’s always better to go with a 60Hz AMOLED panel rather than a 120Hz LCD but still, the choice is all yours.

The display is also bright enough to see under the sunlight.

Overall, Motorola has used good quality display, so there won’t be any kind problem of problem while playing games or even watching movies.

Performance

Here comes the confusing part,

Snapdragon 600 Series processors use to be affordable but now, they have changed everything. From now, Snapdraghopn 600 SoC will come under the 20k price range and 700 series SoC will come under 30k.

The Motorola G71 5G is powered by an all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC and runs on Android 11.

The phone will get an Android 12 update very soon and as per some recent reports, most the Motorola smartphone will start getting Android 12 updates from February 2022.

Snapdragon 695 SoC will give better performance than Snapdragon 750G, so there won’t be any issue while playing games or even using smartphones in day to day life.

In short, don’t get confused by the processor name.

Also, Motorola G71 5G has 13 5G bands including n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n66, n77, and n78.

Overall, Motorola G71 5G will perform well in day to day life, you won’t face any problems while using the smartphone.

Cameras

The Motorola G71 5G has 50Mp primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 2MP macro sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter. Both the rear and front cameras can shoot videos at 1080p@60fps.

The camera doesn’t have OIS support but it doesn’t have EIS support which works well.

The 50MP primary sensor performed well in daylight, it produces good images, the details are great but sometimes, it messes up with a dynamic range.

Somehow, the portrait images come out a little bit soft which is unexpected but it can be fixed by an OTA update.

Overall, I feel, the 50MP sensor is working good and considering the price tag, there is nothing to complain about.

Also, the 8MP ultra-wide lens does its job, no complain there too.

By the way, it does have a 2MP macro sensor but if you can, ignore it.

The 16MP selfie camera performs better I expected, so yes, if you love to take selfies then you will be more than happy with a front camera.

Now, the rear and even front camera does have some issues with dynamic range, sometimes, the sensors mess up with a dynamic range. It doesn’t happen every single time but it does happen.

Overall, considering the price tag, Motorola has provided a good camera setup and if were look at some other smartphone under 20k then I feel, Moto G71 5G has a better camera.

In short, Motorola G71 5G doesn’t have great cameras but it does have the best cameras under Rs 20,000.

Audio Quality

The phone doesn’t have stereo speakers, Motorola has provided a single bottom-firing speaker.

The single speaker is loud enough to watch YouTube videos or even movies without earphones but still, Motorola should have provided stereo speakers.

It also has a secondary noise cancellation microphone along with carrier aggregation which will help a lot in calls.

By the way, Motorola has also added a 3.5mm audio jack which is another plus point.

Overall, the audio and even call quality are good, with no complaints.

Battery Life

The Motorola G71 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. The 33W charger will take about 20 minutes to charge from 0 to 50%.

Overall, the battery will last for a day, the Snapdragon 695 SoC is power efficient SoC and it will give better battery life.
