RealMe Narzo 50A Review

RealMe Narzo 50A is a decent offering from RealMe, it does have a massive battery size, good processor but this is not the only smartphone available at a 12k price range in India. In short, you can skip the Narzo 50A and take look at Redmi 9 Prime or even POCO M3.

No doubt, RealMe Narzo 50A is a good smartphone but still, HD+ display at Rs 11,499 in 2021 is not acceptable and there not No Secondary Microphone.

In short, RealMe Narzo 50A is not built for everyone. If you want a value money device then skip Narzo 50A.

RealMe Narzo 50A In-Depth look

These are the Pros and Cons of RealMe Narzo 50A, now, let’s deep dive into the RealMe Narzo 50A and find out whether you should spend Rs 11,499 or not?

Display Quality

RealMe Narzo 50A comes with a 6.50-inches HD+ display. Now, we’re not living in 2018, this is 2021 and we have tons of option who offers FHD+ display at 10k and even 12k price range.

So it doesn’t make any sense to buy an HD+ display at Rs 11,499 price tag. No, doubt, the phone has good quality LCD display but still, HD+ doesn’t justify the Rs 11,499 Price tag.

Forget to mention, the Narzo 50A has a plastic back and plastic frame and there is no mention of which kind of glass protection is used on the front side.

Performance

Coming to performance, the Narzo 50A is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and running on RealMe UI 2.0-based on Android 11.

MediaTek Helio G85 is a good SoC but it’s not good at the 12k price tag. The chipset can be found in 10k smartphones and even 9k, so RealMe is charging extra money for nothing.

By the way, there won’t be any kind of problem while playing games or using a smartphone. The chipset is powerful enough to handle almost everything but still, this is a budget chipset, don’t expect too much.

Cameras

If we look at the cameras, it has a 50MP primary sensor, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro while there is an 8MP selfie shooter. Both the cameras can shoot videos up to 1080p@30fps.

Again, that 2+2MP sensors are just for numbers, don’t expect anything there. Coming to the 50MP sensor, the image does come out good but still, RealMe needs to optimize the 50MP sensor.

In short, the RealMe Narzo 50A has a decent camera and it doesn’t justify the Rs 11,499 price tag. An ultra-wide lens would have been a better option instant of 2+2MP sensors.

Also, RealMe has added night mode and all the other filters in the camera app but this is a budget smartphone, so don’t expect much from night photography, it is good but not great.

Battery Life

Here comes the big part, the device has a massive 6,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. As the phone has an HD+ display, the battery life will last for more than a day, expect two-day battery life with a full charge.

In short, you will be more than happy with the battery, even if you’re a heavy user, the battery should last for more than a day.

Audio

You guessed it, the Narzo 50A only has a single bottom-firing speaker which is kind of okay, don’t expect much. Also, RealMe has removed the secondary noise cancellation microphone from the device, so call quality will also suffer.

Verdict

As I have said, RealMe Narzo 50A is not worth buying because there is nothing new in a device that justifies the Rs 11,499 price tag. If the Narzo 50A was launched at Rs 9,999 then it would have been a Killer smartphone but at Rs 11,499 price, it’s not worth buying.
