Is It Worth Buying RealMe C25Y

Buy or Not?

RealMe is launching phone after phone, I mean, they had just launched RealMe 8s 5G and 8i. Let’s put everything aside and take look at the newly launched RealMe C25Y and see, what new RealMe has to offer with this affordable smartphone.

RealMe C25Y Price in India?

RealMe C25Y price in India starts from Rs 10,999 for 4GB of ram and 64GB storage while another variant is priced at Rs 11,999 for 4GB Ram and 128GB storage.

The device is available in Glacier Blue, and Metal Gray colour options and it will go for sale on 20th September 2021 via Flipkart.

Is It Worth Buying RealMe C25Y

No, it’s not worth buying RealMe C25Y because the device is a bit pricey and we have phones like Redmi 9 Prime and many others at the same price, so it doesn’t make any sense to buy a smartphone with a Unisoc chipset.

Fun fact, Micromax has launched the Micromax 2B with Unisoc T610 and that phone is priced at Rs 8,499.

As you can see, RealMe is charging Rs 2,500 extra for that 50MP primary camera.

So far, you should know, the bigger sensor doesn’t mean better cameras. Bigger sensors are added just for marketing or just to say, this is the first affordable smartphone to feature a 50MP camera sensor.

More on that, RealMe C25Y has only an HD+ display which is not okay because we have phones like POCO M2 (review) and even Redmi 9 Prime (review) with an FHD+ display.

I just want to say, don’t buy a smartphone because it’s a new launch, buy a smartphone that offers you value and in the RealMe C25Y case, it doesn’t offer value.

By the way, forget to mention, Nokia has just launched the new Nokia C01 Plus which is priced at Rs 5,999 and fun fact, this too has a Unisoc T610 chipset.

Talking about RealMe C25Y

RealMe C25Y comes with a 6.50-inches HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. As this is an HD+ display, it doesn’t have support for widevine L1 and this is the reason, you won’t able to watch FHD+ content on OTT apps.

It also has 420 nits of pick brightness and a 120Hz touch sampling rate.

The backside is made out of plastic, the frame is also made out of plastic while on the front, it has glass but RealMe didn’t mention what kind of display Protection has been used on the front side.

The RealMe C25Y is powered by Unisoc T610 (12 nm) and running on RealMe UI R edition based on Android 11.

Talking about cameras, the RealMe C25Y has a 50MP primary sensor, 2MP depth, and 2MP macro rear cameras while there is an 8MP selfie shooter. The front camera can shoot videos up to 1080p@30fps while the front can shoot at 720p@30fps.

For power, RealMe has provided a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. By the way, the RealMe C25Y doesn’t have a Type-C port for charging, it has a micro-USB port.

RealMe has also provided all the necessary sensor which includes Fingerprint (rear-mounted), Magnetic Induction Sensor, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, and Gyro-meter, Acceleration Sensor.

The RealMe C25Y has 200 grams of weight, Bluetooth 5.0 support, a 3.5mm audio jack, a dedicated micro-SD card slot, and eMMC 5.1 Storage.

Verdict

As I have said, there is no need to spend Rs 10,999 on RealMe C25Y as we have a better phone at the same price.

RealMe C25Y Advantages

RealMe C25Y has a massive 5,000 mAh battery which will last for a long time because of the HD+ display, it also has an 18W fast charging, dedicated micro-SD card slot, and 3.5mm audio jack.

RealMe C25Y Disadvantages

The RealMe C25Y does have a bigger battery but when it comes to chipset, thing changes. The Unisoc T610 doesn’t worth the 11k price tag, the cameras are also decent, no mention of display protection, only HD display, eMMC 5.1 Storage and it doesn’t justify the Rs 10,999 price tag.
