OnePlus use to price their phone at around 40k to 45k but nowadays, you have to pay more then 60k to buy the Pro version which is not a bad thing, if they provide value for money device. Now, there is no doubt, OnePlus 9 Pro is overpriced, so if you’re buying the OnePlus 9 Pro then you’re paying 10k extra for just oxygen OS.
Now let’s put everything aside and find out what OnePlus did wrong with the OnePlus 9 Pro and why this is not the best phone to buy at Rs 64,999 price tag.

OnePlus 9 Pro Review
OnePlus partnered with Hasselblad to give the best camera quality but it didn’t work out well. The camera is above average and considering the price tag, it’s not the best camera phone to buy. It comes with Snapdragon 888 processor which gives the best performance. The phone also has a 4,500 mAH battery with 65W fast charging support and it will last for a day.
Overall, the OnePlus 9 Pro is not a value for money device. OnePlus did a good job with a camera but it doesn’t justify the 65k price tag that said, I love to see what Hasselblad and OnePlus will do with the OnePlus 10 Pro. From my side, I don’t recommend OnePlus 9 pro at a 65k Price tag.
By the way, the phone does have QHD+ 120H display and much more which I’m gonne talk about in bit.

Display Quality: Best in this segment
The OnePlus 9 Pro Comes with 6.70 inches LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate. This is a different display compared to other phones at this price range. OnePlus has used an LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED display which means, this phone can go from a 1Hz refresh rate to 120Hz.
For example, if you’re watching movies then the phone will use a 24Hz refresh rate but if you’re using the setting menu and or just use system UI then the phone will use a 120Hz refresh rate. Now as per OnePlus, the LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED display will save more battery because the phone won’t be using a 120Hz refresh rate all the time.
The phone also has 1300 nits of brightness which is good but it’s not where to near to Galaxy S21+. Of course, this is a QHD+ display that means you can watch 4k movies or YouTube Videos.
By the way, with Oxygen OS 11, OnePlus finally added an always-on display option which could be huge for OnePlus users because this feature was missing on the OnePlus phone for while.
Overall, the phone has the best display quality and I think you will face any kind of problem while playing games or watching movies. OnePlus has done a good job with the display.
Performance: Top-Class
The OnePlus 9 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Processor and this is a 5G compatible processor. I won’t say much about performance because there is nothing to say about this chip, it will give the best possible performance in every single area.
The only problem you will see is the 5G bands used by OnePlus. OnePlus 9 Pro only supports N41, 78 5G bands which means if 5G launches in India with different 5G bands then you won’t able to use 5G on the OnePlus 9 Pro.
For those people who don’t know, 5G bands can’t be added via software update. OnePlus has also done the same with OnePlus Nord and now with their flagship smartphone.
I have also noticed some UI lags and this is all because of LTPO Fluid2 AMOLED. As I said, this display go from 1Hz to 120Hz and this is new technology and it will same time get perfect or it can be fixed with an OTA update.
Overall, don’t think much here because the phone is running on Oxygen OS 11 on top of Android 11 and it’s powered by Snapdragon 888. So performance is better than ever.
Cameras: Not that great
The OnePlus 9 Pro has a Quad camera setup featuring a 48MP primary sensor, 50MP ultra-wide lens, 8MP telephoto and 2MP depth sensor. Now let’s just remove that 8MP + 2MP sensor because those two lenses are just added and it doesn’t give the best image quality.
OnePlus has also added a 16MP selfie shooter which is trash, I don’t know why OnePlus is using the same Sony IMX471 sensor for the last three years. I mean, a 20k phone can take good images then this OnePlus 9 Pro. Let’s just put the front camera aside because it’s not that great.
OnePlus has partnered with Hasselblad to give the best cameras and that can be seen in the OnePlus 9 Pro. Hasselblad is known for the most accurate colours in the cameras and the same thing can be seen in the OnePlus 9 Pro.
Here I would say, OnePlus has done a far batter job then what they have done with the OnePlus 8 Pro. In short, the colour accuracy on the OnePlus 9 Pro is just amazing.
50 Megapixel Ultra-wide is beauty, I mean, I never thought that OnePlus could provide this kind of ultra-wide lens but they did it. I think, here you will see Hasselblad touch.
Overall, the OnePlus 9 Pro does have a good camera setup but considering the price tag, it’s not the best. The phone should have launched at Rs 54,999 but they launched at Rs 64,999 which is Rs 10,000 extra. In short, the phone has above average camera because that telephoto lens and depth sensor are there to say, the phone has a quad-camera setup.
Talking about video quality, the OnePlus 9 Pro can shoot video in 8k@30fps. After the iPhone 12 Pro, the OnePlus 9 Pro take the best videos. In some area, it gives better video quality then Galaxy S21 Ultra. Also even in the video, you will see Hasselblad touch.
Now if I have to rate OnePlus 9 Pro cameras then I would give 6 out of 10. It’s above avarage camera setup.
Battery & Audio Quality: Okay, okay
The OnePlus 9 Pro has a 4,500 mAh battery with 65W fast wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support. That 65W charger will charge this phone from 0 % to 100 in only 30 Minutes.
Talking about battery life, for casual use, it will last for day but if you’re heavy users, then the phone can go from 100% to 10% at around 5 PM.
I don’t say much about battery life as it depends on the users but the user. For example, if you use the phone for continues six hours then you have to charge the phone after six hours but if you use the phone for 30 minutes in the morning and the afternoon and then at night, this way, the phone can last for more then two days.

Overall, the battery life on the OnePlus 9 Pro is okay, okay but that fast charging balanced everything. The phone also has stereo speakers which are good and call quality is also good.
Conclusion: Worth it or Not?
No, the OnePlus 9 Pro is not worth buying because OnePlus is charging 10k extra for that Hasselblad cameras. The phone does have a powerful Processor and fast charging support but that doesn’t justify the 65k price tag. Overall, the OnePlus 9 pro is not a value money device. That said, if you buy the OnePlus 9 Pro then you won’t regret it but keep in mind, OnePlus is charging 10k extra.
