OnePlus T Series needs to stop now because it doesn’t make any sense. We have the best OnePlus 8 Pro and 8, so there is no need to launch another phone with minor upgrades. I hope, next year, OnePlus stick to two phones only. I mean, they could have launched OnePlus 8T instant of OnePlus 8 but hey, it’s business, so can’t say much.

So let’s see in this OnePlus 8T Review whether OnePlus 8T is worth the Rs 42,999 price tag or it’s another device with bit upgrade?
OnePlus 8T India Price
OnePlus 8T Price in India starts from Rs 42,999 for 8GB Ram and 128GB storage while 12GB and 256GB storage is priced at Rs 45,999, it will be sold via Amazon from October 16, 2020 at midnight. The phone is available in Aquamarine Green, Lunar Silver colour options.

Here you will see huge difference compare to OnePlus 8 because this time OnePlus went with flat display rather than cured display. Now, there will be some people who will say, I don’t like flat display, so here you can take look at OnePlus 8 but if you like flat display then just go with newly launched OnePlus 8T.
The OnePlus 8T comes with 6.55 inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 2400 x 1800 pixels resolution and it has 120Hz screen refresh rate. This is where thing changes, that 120Hz display will make difference.
There is no doubt, the display will be great, so there is nothing to worry about the display here. Also, the display brightness is too good, so whether you want to use the phone under the sunlight or at some, you will able to see the screen properly.
The only thing I noticed is, the display does get very bright but when you lower the brightness to 10% or 5%, still, after that it feels 50% to 60% which can be fixed by OTA update but as of now, if you use the phone at night then brightness won’t go as low as you want even at 0%.
It’s not like, OnePlus 8T has the best display but you can’t really complain much at 43k. Also, OnePlus has used Corning gorilla glass 3 on the front and rear side which is not acceptable at 43k, they could have gone with gorilla glass 5.
Also, I have noticed little bit green shade in the display, you won’t see green shade unless you’re into tech. If you’re normal user then it won’t be a huge problem but if you want the best display then you may see greenness shade here and there.
By the way, it’s not a big problem but it’s there. This is 43k phone, so OnePlus can’t put the best AMOLED display. Overall, I can’t complain much about the display, there is no big problem which will let you down.
OnePlus 8T Design and Build Quality

Here comes the big change, the design is fresh, so it’s not the same from OnePlus 8 Pro or OnePlus 7T, OnePlus has given fresh look this time. I just hope, OnePlus go with the same design with OnePlus 9 Series because it’s time to change. They are just using the same design from OnePlus 6, so it’s a fresh look on OnePlus 8T which I loved it.
If you see the OnePlus 8T, you will say, this is Galaxy S20 and it does look like that. It is adopted design.
The thing will get tricky when you heard that OnePlus has used Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front as well as on the rear side, this is 43k phone and yet there is no Gorilla Glass 5 which let down but this is what you get. So it’s Glass front (Gorilla Glass 3), glass back (Gorilla Glass 3), aluminium frame.
One more thing, like I said, OnePlus 8T has flat display and this is the reason why OnePlus 8T is launched at 43k.

Cameras were weak part of OnePlus which we have seen in OnePlus 7 Series but with OnePlus 8 Pro, they have fixed that problem but now with newly launched OnePlus 8T, somewhere it feels like, Cameras is the only weak part of this T series phone. Don’t get me wrong, the phone does have the best camera but OnePlus still needs to work on OnePlus 8T cameras.
All the images doesn’t turned out to be good but it’s not good as 43k price tag.
OnePlus has also include night mode in the stock camera app which is a good thing and it does work well, so there is nothing to worry about any kind of features. I mean I have added all the feature which OnePlus 8T has.
My only problem with cameras is, images don’t turn out neutral, I mean Pixel 4A can take batter images then OnePlus 8T and Pixel 4A have an only a single camera. It’s not like, OnePlus 8T doesn’t have the good sensor, they only need to optimize the cameras.
I have added some images which are taken on OnePlus 8T, do let me know how is the camera quality. One more thing, most of the people don’t like neutral, they mostly love saturated colours and this is why most of the budget centric smartphone produces the images of the white rather than neutral.
I don’t like saturated colours but this won’t be the case with lots of people and this where I think, you will love OnePlus 8T cameras. Also, just forget about that 2MP depth sensor and 5MP macro lens, it’s there for marketing. Just focus on the primary sensor and ultra-wide lens.
Overall, OnePlus 8T does have a good camera and OnePlus know, what kind of colours people love and this is the reason why the cameras on this phone are like that. In the end, it depends on you whether you what your actual skin tone or saturated.

Here I don’t have to say much because the OnePlus 8T is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, not the Plus one and yet, OnePlus 8T works like butter. The phone is running on Oxygen OS 11 based on Android 11 and this is the first non-pixel smartphone to come with Android 11 out of the box.
Oxygen OS 11 has changed a lot and you will see, most of the people don’t like what OnePlus has done with new UI. In short, OnePlus has added some elements from Samsung’s OneUI which I’m not fan of but hey, this is what we get.
Talking about performance, Oxygen OS 11 has changed but the performance remain the same, it’s not like what we see with OneUI, still, Oxygen OS is Oxygen OS 11.
The phone also has 5G support which is not big feature right now but after year, this will come in handy.
Overall, that 120Hz screen refresh rate comes in very handy. There is nothing to worry about performance but as all know, OnePlus has Ram management issue which can be fixed by OTA update. Also, if you’re a normal user then there won’t be any problem while playing games or using social media but if you test the phone properly then you will see Ram management issue.
Don’t worry about Ram management issue because it’s not like, everyone will notice but it’s there.
OnePlus 8T Audio Quality
Likewise, OnePlus 8T doesn’t have the audio jack that means you have to either by dongle or Bluetooth earbuds. One way or other you have to spend more money. The phone does have Stereo speakers and it’s a good one, it’s not like, it’s only there, it also work like charm.
Also, there is nothing to worry about call quality. I have used Airtel, Vodafone and Jio SIM card and still, I haven’t face any kind of issue in call quality.
In short, there is nothing to worry about audio. OnePlus has provided the best speakers on OnePlus 8T.

Like RealMe 7 Pro, OnePlus 8 also comes with 65W fast charging support and As I have said, this is the best thing to have in a smartphone because if you’re in hurry then 65W will come in handy. Also, if you forgot the 65W charger at your home then don’t worry because OnePlus 8T can be charged at 27W with any fast charger.
Of course, OnePlus is part of BBK Electronics, you can guess, OnePlus 8T comes with massive 65W fast charging support. As per OnePlus, it will take about 37 minutes to charge from 0% to 100% but in my testing, it took 45 to minutes to charge 0% to 100%.

OnePlus 8T: Verdict
OnePlus 8T is a power pack smartphone and launched at the perfect price. The phone has powerful Snapdragon 865 SoC, 4,500 mAh battery with 65W fast charging support, 120Hz refresh rate and solid build, everything is there in OnePlus 8T. Yes, OnePlus 8T is worth buying and it’s value for money device at Rs 42,999 price tag.
Do I recommend OnePlus 8T
Yes, I do recommend OnePlus 8T. It’s the best smartphone available at 43k price tag, there is also Mi 10T Pro available at Rs 44,999 but I think OnePlus has its own feature which Xiaomi won’t able to provide. I mean, Oxygen OS is the key point of OnePlus device and I think, this is where OnePlus 8T wins the race. Also, Xiaomi phones have ads and tons of bloatware pre-installed.
In the end, it depend on you what you’re looking for in your next smartphone.
