Considering the price, Redmi Note 10 is worth buying and it’s value for money device and it has almost everything that a budget smartphone should have.

Overall, if you’re looking for a smartphone around 12k then, for now, Redmi Note 10 is the best smartphone to consider. From my side, just go for it or if you can, wait for RealMe 8 Series…

If you see other smartphones at 12k, we have phones with HD+ LCD display or FHD+ LCD display and when you get FHD+ AMOLED display at the same price then it’s plus point for anyone.

Redmi Note 10 comes with 6.43 inches FHD+ AMOLED Display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Everyone knows, what the difference between LCD & AMOLED, in short, the phone has the best display quality around 12k price tag.

Xiaomi has also added Gorilla Glass 3 on the front side and the rear side is made out of plastic. Here, Xiaomi has done some cost-cutting but it’s not a big one, so I will just let this go as they have provided everything else, top-notch.

If you buy Redmi Note 10 then make sure you use case because if you drop the phone, plastic will break like glass.

The phone also has support for wide vine L1 that means, you can play FHD+ content on Netflix and many other paid OTT platforms.

Overall, I haven’t face any problem while watching movies outside my home or even under sunlight because it has 1100 nits screen brightness. In short, there is nothing to worry about display quality, it’s far better than any other smartphone below 15k in India.

Performance: Better than ever

ChipsetQualcomm Snapdragon 678 (11 nm)
GPUAdreno 612
CPUOcta-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 460 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver)
OSMIUI 12-based on Android 11
5GNo

Redmi Note 10 is powered by Snapdragon 678 Processor and it’s running on MIUI 12-based on Android 12. Xiaomi has promised MIUI 12.5 update but it’s just a promise, there is no official date for MIUI 12.5 update.

The phone does have ads in the UI which can’t be disabled 100% and that you have to live with, as per Xiaomi, MIUI 12.5 will let you uninstalled some of the system apps but not all of them, for example, Xiaomi’s App Gallery.

Coming back to performance, the phone is running on powerful processor and considering the price tag, I can’t complain much here.

The Snapdragon 678 processor can handle almost every single games which is available in play store including PUBG Mobile. So there won’t be any problem while playing games or scrolling through social media apps.

AnTuTu Score: 229159

Overall, the chipset is performing great and at a 12k price tag, I don’t think, you will face any problem. Still, if you can wait for the RealMe 8 Series then, you could get a better deal than Redmi Note 10 but if you want to buy a smartphone around 12k right now then, Redmi Note 10 is still, good option to go with.

Cameras: Needs bit Improvement

Camera (Rear)48 MP Primary Sensor
8 MP Ultra-Wide
2 MP Macro
2 MP Depth
Video Recording (Rear)1080p@60fps & 4k@30fps
Camera (Front)13 MP Selfie Shooter
Video Recording (Front)1080p@30fps

Redmi Note 10 has a quad-camera setup, oh, sorry. It has a dual-camera setup, that 2MP macro & 2MP depth sensors are just there to make-up numbers that’s it.

Talking about the 48MP primary sensor, it takes some good quality images, after a long time I feel, Xiaomi has done a good job in a budget smartphone but when it’s come to night photography, the phone does not do justice to the 48MP sensor.

Here, I feel, Xiaomi needs some improvement because sometimes if you take images at night, cameras try to overexpose the subject and there I feel, it lose out on details.

An OTA update could improve the night photography but when they gone push the update, no one knows.

Coming back to 8MP ultra-wide lens, take this ultra-wide sensor as an add-on. It takes great images with good lighting condition but if the lighting condition is not good then you will see, why Redmi Note 10 is priced at 12k.

This is not the case with Redmi Note 10, almost all the budget centric smartphone has average ultra-wide lens.

Also, if you love to take selfie, Xiaomi has added 13-megapixel front camera setup which is also same as ultra-wide. If the lighting condition is good then you will get best selfie but if the lighting condition is not good, you could see some noise.

Overall, I would say, considering the price tag, the Redmi Note 10 has a decent camera setup. The phone does have a 48MP sensor that means, it will take the best images, 48MP is just a number and that’s it.

Battery Life

Battery Size5,000 battery (non-removable)
Charging PortType-C Port
Charging Speed33W fast charging support (33W charger will be included in the box)

The Redmi Note 10 has a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support that means, 33W charger can charge 50% in 25 min, 100% in 74 min. (33W charger is included in the box)

I don’t say much about battery life as it depends on the users but the user. For example, if you use the phone for continues six hours then you have to charge the phone after six hours but if you use the phone for 30 minutes in the morning and the afternoon and then at night, this way, the phone can last for more then two days.

If I have to give you number, the phone will last for day. Let say, if you charge Redmi Note 10 at 9:00 AM then yo have to charge this phone again at around 9 to 10 PM. Now if you’re heavy users then it could be dead before 9PM.

Audio Quality

The phone has single bottom-firing speakers which are loud enough to hear music or watching YouTube videos. Still, it’s not better then what you get with Redmi Note 10 Pro or Max.

For example, if you’re in a crowded place then you have to use earphone but if you’re at home with your family then there is no need to use earphone, smartphone speakers id good enough.

Talking about, Call quality, the phone one microphone on the bottom side and another one at the top. This means if you’re in a crowded place another person on the call will able to hear you clearly.

Conclusion: Buy or Skip

As I have said, if your budget at 10k then you should add two thousand more and buy Redmi Note 10 because it has almost everything that you’re looking for including fast charging support, powerful processor, new design, good camera setup (not the best), and it’s priced at Rs 11,999.

Overall, Redmi Note 10 is value for money device. From my side, go for it.
