Samsung Galaxy M30 long-term Review !

Galaxy M30 Review

Samsung is well-known for flagship devices and nowadays people are buying budget Samsung devices and the reason for that is new M series smartphones, so today we gonna take a look at new Samsung Galaxy M30. Before we talk about the device here is a quick recap of specifications

Samsung Galaxy M30! long-term Review

The smartphone features a 6.4 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2340 pixels by 1080 (19.5:9), it also has waterdrop notch on the top side. Galaxy M30 is powered by Exynos 7904 which is built on 14 nm technology with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU, it runs on Experience 9.5 based on Android 8.0 (Oreo). The device is available in two variant 4 GB of Ram & 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB of Ram & 128 GB internal storage, you can expand storage via a micro-SD card up to 512 GB and it also has dedicated SD card slot, that means you can put 2 SIM card and 1 micro-SD card

It has rear triple 13 MP (F/1.9) + 5 MP (F/2.2) + 5 MP (F/2.2) camera setup and 16 MP (F/2.0) MP selfie shooter .

The device is packed with 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with 15W fast charging support, if you want to buy this device then it will cost you Rs 14,990 for 4 GB Ram and Rs 17,990 for 6 GB variant. Now I think you know what inside this device but you don’t know how it’s gonna work, so let’s find out

Display

As I told you it has huge 6.4 inch AMOLED display with a dewdrop notch, I am loving this display and I haven’t found any issue regarding display yet and when you take this device in extreme sunlight than still you easily see the screen and you can use this device very easily

It has tiny dewdrop notch on the top side of this device that means now you can access more screen space but the device has little bit thick bottom chin like many other smartphones. So overall display on this device is way better than other device and reason for that is Galaxy M30 has AMOLED display and that give you slide better performance than LCD penal

We also played some games on this device and that dewdrop notch hasn’t been the issue for us, so yes that notch will not disturb you while playing games like PUBG or Ashplant 9.

Built Quality

First thing first it has plastic uni-body with gradient background but Samsung used good quality of the plastic on this device. For now, we haven’t found any problem but yes if you drop this device then it will be going to break very quickly and it’s all because of plastic uni-body, and yes used plastic is very good but an end of the day plastic is gonna be plastic right.

So overall Built quality is better but Samsung can be used metal instant of plastic but it is what it is now.

Camera

It has triple camera setup but keeps in mind more camera doesn’t mean great camera quality. The first rear sensor is the main sensor, the second one is a wide-angle sensor and the last one is a depth sensor for portrait shots and being a Samsung device camera is way better than what we have seen in previous Samsung devices

Talking about performance, under good lighting condition Samsung Galaxy M30 can perform good and it captures a good amount of details but when it’s come to low lighting condition, smartphone camera suffers a little bit. There is also wide-angle sensor but as I told you it can capture a good amount of details in good lights but not in  low lighting

Same things apply for the selfie camera, under sunlight or in good light selfie camera will take a good selfie but when it comes to a low light camera does not capture proper details.

The rear camera can shoot video up to 1080p 30 FPS and yes it has electronic image stabilization, so it will help you in videography and one thing I don’t understand is, Exynos 7904 can shoot video up-to 4K but Galaxy M30 only supports 1080p I mean I don’t why Samsung is not enabling that features

So overall as a Samsung mid-ranger galaxy M30 has wonderful camera setup but when you compare this device with Redmi Note 7 pro than any day it can bite galaxy M30 very easily. If you want Samsung brand than M30 is a good choice but if you don’t care about a brand than any day Redmi Note 7 pro must be your choice

Performance

Samsung Galaxy M30 is powered by Exynos 7904 which is built on 14 nm technology with Mali-G71 MP2 GPU inside, we have seen Exynos 7904 in Galaxy M20 and that device also performed good in-term of day-to-day tasks. But as we talked on Galaxy M20 Review that  Exynos 7904 is not that powerful chip

If we compare Exynos 7904 with Snapdragon 636 than any day 636 soc will perform better and yes both the chip is built on 14 nm technology.

We also played games like PUBG, Modern combat 5 and ashplant 9 as well and all those games can be played very nicely but when you play those games for while then you may notice some frame drops and it may leg after 1 or 2 hours of Gameplay

So as I told you, as Samsung mid-ranger it is a wonderful device but it’s not for everyone.

Battery

It has a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. I am not gonna lie battery is wonderful in this device. it will long last for a whole one day and if you are a normal user then it can be last for 2 days, there is also fast charging support that means if in case you consume all the battery than it can be charged very quickly

Price

For the first time Samsung launched a smartphone at the right price and for those who are waiting for Samsung mid-ranger, this device you can buy

4 GB / 64 GB : Rs 14,990
6 GB / 128 GB : Rs 17,990

Samsung Galaxy M30 is available via Amazon India, but before you buy this device take a look at the conclusion section

Conclusion: Samsung Galaxy M30

If you are brand-conscious and only like Samsung smartphones and your budget is under Rs 15,000 then I would recommend you Galaxy M30 but if you are one of those who doesn’t care about the brand than go with Redmi Note 7 Pro, and if can wait for one other month than you can go with Realme 3 Pro as well (Realme 3 pros is launching in April 2019)
