Never thought that any brand will launch two new smartwatches for a different e-commerce website with the same specs. Yes, boAt Lunar Connect Pro and Call Pro have the same specs and are also available at the same price.

Now, to make things easy for you, I will be using the boAt Lunar Call Pro name, and keep in mind, both the boAt Lunar Call Pro and Connect Pro are the same watches with a different names.

boAt Lunar Call Pro and Connect Pro Review

Yes, the boAt Lunar Call Pro is worth buying however it’s not the best watch available under Rs 4,000 as it doesn’t have the built-in GPS or even Single Chip Bluetooth Calling. Better look for other smartwatches like Dizo Watch R Talk or RealMe Watch 3 Pro.

Also, as I have said, the boAt Lunar Connect Pro is the same as the boAt Lunar Call Pro, so yes, this too is worth buying but it’s not the best for the price it comes.

Now, of cource, the boAt Lunar Connect Pro or even Call Pro is not the worst smartwatch, it’s just that, there are better watches available under Rs 4,000. Nonetheless, let’s explore these watches and find out what boAt has to offer.

Display, Build, and Comfort

boAt Lunar Call Pro comes with a 1.39-inches 60hz AMOLED display with a pick brightness of 600 nits.

On paper, the watch has a 60Hz AMOLED panel but that doesn’t reflect well in real-life uses. Sometimes, the watch UI feels a bit laggy and it takes a micro-second to slide to the next menu.

Now, this can be because of the software or something else and I hope boAt will fix this issue very soon as these watches are priced at Rs 3,999 and not at Rs 999.

The Build Quality is solid, the frames are made from metal while the back has a plastic body where all the sensors are placed.

By the way, the watch does have huge bezels around it, it’s not a bezel-less watch like boAt is marking all over the internet.

It does look great in images but when you hold it for the first time, it won’t give you that premium feel.

The watch is comfortable to wear, so there I feel, boAt has done a great job as they have imported the entire body from China like Noise or Fire boltt.

In short, these are not Made-in-India watches,s these are assembled-in-India watches.

Also, boAt is using the Apollo3 chipset for better performance but it doesn’t reflect well when I was using it, so I don’t know where boAt is using this chipset.

Overall, The boAt Lunar Connect Pro or even Call Pro is comfortable to wear, the build quality is solid and the display quality is better but sometimes, the watch UI takes a bit of time to swift the next slide while the screen bezels are a bit bigger.

Health Tracking

The watch has sensors like a heart rate sensor, a blood oxygen sensor, a sleep tracker, a stress tracker, and a breath control mode.

Now, the watch has an optical heart rate sensor which is not the best sensor to rely on, if you have some serious health problems.

So whatever, numbers you get, take those numbers with a grain of salt.

boAt has also added sleep tracking which tracks all the sleep stages like Light Sleep, REM sleep, or even Deep Sleep.

Now, I was a bit surprised with sleep tracking, the watches measured the sleep data more accurately compared to brands like Noise and Fireboltt, still, the numbers are not close to Amazfit or RealMe watches.

For example, if you’re watching some movies on Netflix and you’re sleeping on your bed for about 1 hour then the boAt Lunar Connect Pro or even Call Pro will count a few minutes as nap sleep.

Of course, these are all software problems but these are not recent problems, the same problems are present in almost all the Indian smartwatch brands.

I’m not targeting Indian brands, I’m just saying that why not work on software rather launching two to three watches every month?

On top of that, boAt didn’t even add the built-in GPS which will be a deal breaker for those who love to run outdoors.

boAt added a new feature called “SensAI” which is for cricketers. For example, if you bowling and wearing either boAt Lunar Call or Connect Pro then the watch can tell you the speed of the ball, bat swing, hits and misses, angles, power, and more.

Now, I don’t have a Cricket bowling machine to measure the accuracy. So can’t really comment on that…

Overall, yes for the price of Rs 3999, the boat Lunar Connect Pro or even Call Pro doesn’t measure the health data accurately, sp whatever number you get, add the error of margin around 5% to 10% to be on the safer side.

Bluetooth Calling

Bluetooth 5.3 is around for some time and yet, boAt is using Bluetooth 5.0, which means, they can’t use Single Chip for Bluetooth calling.

This also means that the watch will consume more battery life when you contact the boat Lunar Connect Pro or even Call Pro with your smartwatch as the watches will use a dual Bluetooth connection.

One is for the app and the second is for Bluetooth calling.

The calling quality is good if you’re at home and there is not much noise around you but if you’re in a public place then it might get hard to hear someone on call as the speaker is not too loud.

Now, I don’t take calls on my smartwatch because if someone is standing beside me then he/she will hear whatever I talk about on the call. This is all me, your take on privacy might be different.

By the way, you can’t connect your TWS earbuds with either boat Lunar Connect Pro or Call Pro.

Also, for some reason, the speaker sound feels a bit robotic, it’s not the same as a smartphone’s speaker.

For reference, you can save up to 20 contacts on a smartwatch, you can pick which numbers you want to add.

Overall, the call quality is good but it would have been better if boAt had provided Bluetooth version 5.2 along with single Bluetooth calling.

Battery Life

Both the boAt Lunar Call Pro and Connect Pro come with 260mAh battery.

Now, first, let’s hear what boAt has to say about the battery life

“as per boAt, both of these watches will last for 15 days with normal usage while if you use all the features from Bluetooth calling to always on display then expect the battery to last for 5 days”

Now, let’s talk about real numbers…

If you plan to use Bluetooth calling 24/7, notifications, always on display, 24/7 heart rate tracking, and even sleep monitoring expect the battery to last for one day but if you disable everything and only plan to see time then expect the battery to last for 7 to 10 days.

Verdict

The boAt Lunar Call Pro and Connect Pro are great smartwatches but they don’t offer anything new. It does have features like SensAI and Bluetooth calling which is not something new in the market while the watches are not aggressively priced, so simply, skip these watches and look for better options.
