No, the Amazfit Bip 5 is not worth buying because this is a Rs 7,499 smartwatch and it doesn’t even have an AMOLED display while it does offer longer battery life, curved display, accurate sleep data, stable watch UI, and even Bluetooth calling but the small-small compromises are there and it’s not worth the Rs 7,499 price tag at all.
Also, if you’re spending Rs 7,499 then why not just spend Rs 2500 extra and go with Samsung Galaxy Watch 4? You will get to use a proper smartwatch with the Google Play store and better Bluetooth calling.

Now, I get that some of you don’t want to spend Rs 10000 on the smartwatch and for those, consider smartwatch under Rs 5000 because you won’t get anything new in Amazfit Bip 5 for the price of Rs 7,499.

Display
The 1.91-inch display looks and feels amazing but the biggest problem is, that this is the TFT LCD panel which is not good at all as the Amazfit Bip 5 costs Rs 7,499.
The TFT LCD is better compared to budget smartphones but still, it doesn’t justify the Rs 7,499 price tag at all.
By the way, the smartwatch has a 2.5D curved panel and it does feel premium in hand.
The screen brightness is enough for outdoor usage, everything from text to watch UI will be visible. Also, you can adjust the screen brightness from the watch itself, so there is no need to pull out the smartphone every single time.
Amazfit has also provided 70+ watch faces while you can also set custom images of yourself or any other with the help of Zepp App. Also, just like Redmi Watch Active 3, you can add a widget on the home screen.
Keep in mind, as the smartwatch has a TFT LCD display, there is no always-on-display mode on the Amazfit Bip 5. It does have a raise to wake which works well.
Overall, I feel, Amazfit should have gone with an AMOLED panel but they didn’t because they also sell Amazon GTS Mini-series smartwatches between 7k to 10k. The Amazfit Bip 5 is undoubtedly a pricey smartwatch for what it offers.
Build and Comfort
The Amazfit Bip 5 has a plastic unibody which is totally fine as this is a budget smartwatch. The 2.5D curved display is solid and anti-fingerprint, so the build quality is not the big problem here.
It also has an IP68 rating, so use it underwater, if you want.
Here is the problem for some of you,
This is a large smartwatch that means, if you have a large wrist then the Amazfit Bip 5 is the best option for you but if your wrist is not big then I would highly suggest you stay away from it.
The smartwatch feels and looks big and on a small wrist, it won’t look good at all.
Now, the watch is comfortable to wear, and the 25 grams of weight is perfect to wear all day and all night. You can also replace the strap with your favorite ones, just search (22mm strap) it on Amazon and buy the one you like.
Long story short, the Amazfit Bip 5 has solid build quality, and it’s also comfortable to wear.
Software and Feature
We have Zepp OS 2.0 which is filled with features and this is a more stable version of any budget-centric smartwatch.
Lots of other Indian brands offer budget smartwatches and the biggest problem with those watches is software. Now, the good news is that Amazfit has its own OS which is feature-rich and stable.
So the end story is, you will be more than happy with Zepp OS 2.0 along with Zepp Application which is available both on App and Play Store.
Now, I would love to talk about gestures like what happens when you swipe up and down on the smartwatch screen but I feel you already know all of it. So let me just tell you some of its features.
As this is a smartwatch, you will get features like SpO2 monitoring, Heart tracking, Sleep tracking, Women’s menstrual cycle, Stopwatch, timer, Bluetooth calling, built-in GPS, and much more.
Also, you will need to download the Zepp App on your smartwatch to get the most out of Amazfit Bip 5.
Fitness and Health Tracking
As you already know, the Amazfit Bip 5 has SpO2 monitoring, Heart tracking, Sleep tracking, and even built-in GPS.
Built-in GPS is kind of rare for under Rs 5000 smartwatch, so it’s not a surprise that Amazfit added this feature in Amazfit Bip 5.
Having a built-in GPS is huge for those who go for outdoor runs every single day. This will help you to keep track of your exercises.
GPS is accurate but it takes about 15 to 20 seconds to start which is fine, in the end, what matters is accuracy.
Now, sleep-tracking is on point too.
It tracks all the sleep cycles whether it’s REM Sleep, light sleep, or even Deep sleep. The data is also accurate, it’s not like, you went to sleep at 9 PM and the watch will show you, you went at 11 PM.
Again, you can access all the data from the Zepp App.
Now, the problem is with the step count. It’s not 100% accurate, keep the error of margin about 5% to 10%.
For example, if you take 5000 steps every single day then someday, the Amazfit Bip 5 will show you 5050 steps, and someday, it will show 4900.
Also, this is a budget smartwatch, so you can’t accept results like the Apple Watch.
The SpO2 results are kind of okay, Never rely on SpO2 on this or any other budget smartwatch. We have seen in the past that a lot of brands have manipulated the SpO2 data, so just take the numbers with a grain of salt.
Amazfit has also added an optical heart rate sensor which again is kind of okay. It does what it is supposed to do but still, don’t rely on it if you have some health issue.
Just get a proper machine.
The end story is that Amazfit Bip 5 provides close to accurate sleep data, and the same can be said for step counting as well but when it comes to SpO2 and even heart rate, just don’t rely on it, if you have any sort of health problem.
Bluetooth Calling
Keep in mind, the Amazfit Bip 5 doesn’t support a SIM card or even eSIM, it only has Bluetooth calling which means you have to connect the smartwatch to your smartphone 24/7 to take and receive calls.
Amazfit has added one speaker and microphone. They work perfectly fine if you’re at home or where there is less noise but when it comes to public places, you will have a hard time hearing someone else’s voice.
What I’m saying is, the speaker is loud but it’s not when there is a bit of extra noise. For example, public places where people are talking to each other, bikes going from left to right, the noise of trucks, and so on.
Bluetooth calling is just an add-on that is good to have and it works but in a less noisy environment.
Battery
The 300mAh battery will last for ages, I mean, if you don’t use Bluetooth calling at all then expect the battery to last for about 7 to 10 days but if you’re going to take 5 to 6 calls every day then get ready to charge the Amazfit Bip 5 every two days.
The smartwatch will take 2 hours to charge from 0% to 100%.
The battery life is solid due to the Zepp OS, Amazfit has optimized this OS and it is also lightweight, so the battery life will be better compared to any other smartwatch at this price range.
