Galaxy S20 Series in India

Much awaited Galaxy S series is here, and this time it’s bigger than ever, so let’s see what new Samsung has done it this time. For 2020 Samsung has launched three S series smartphones, Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus and top of that Galaxy S20 Ultra. First, let’s take look at the specifications of each phone…

Update 12th Feb 2020 at 15:23 Samsung announced Olympic Games Edition for the Galaxy S20 Series. In-short, it will be customized as per the Olympic Games. So if you’re want to buy a special edition then wait for it.

Update 17th Feb 2020 at 15:22  Samsung Revealed the price for Galaxy S20 series and currently, it’s available for pre-order on Flipkart India website and will release on 16th March 2020.

Samsung Galaxy S20

This Galaxy S20 comes with 6.20-inches Quad HD+ display and it has a 120Hz screen refresh rate. Samsung also doubles the touch response on each new S series phone, so when you’re scrolling through apps, you will feel the smoothness. By the way, Samsung has only given 120Hz option in the setting menu, so if you want to use a 90Hz display then you can’t because you can only choose between 60Hz and 120Hz.

One other thing, when you use the default 60Hz display, the resolution will be 3200 pixels by 1440 but when you switch to 120Hz then the resolution will go down to 2400 pixels to 1080. Now the only reason for this is, battery because if when you use that 120Hz display + QHD panel, the phone will consume more battery, so that’s why I think Samsung has done this.

The Galaxy S20 is available in 12GB of Ram and 128 GB of in-built storage and yes you can use external micro-SD. Under the hood, Samsung has used the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 which 15% faster CPU and 25% faster GPU then last generation chipset.

The phone comes with a triple 12MP primary sensor, 64MP telephoto lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens. The highlight of this phone is, it can shoot video up to 8k@25fps but keep in mind, Galaxy S20 will use that 64MP telephoto lens to record 8K video, so yes technically it can shot up to 8k but not with a primary sensor.

Galaxy S20 is packed with a 4,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support.

On the front side, the phone has a punch hole that sports a 10MP selfie camera. The phone also has an IP68 certificate which means you can use this phone in water or a shower.

lastly, the phone is priced at $999 which is approx ₹71,181 in Indian rupee but keep in mind, the price will change when these S series phones will officially launch in India.

Samsung Galaxy S20+

Now this Galaxy S20 Plus has almost everything from Galaxy S20, just minor changes.

The phone has 6.70-inches QHD+ display and 120Hz display. As I have mentioned above, this phone also has all the features which I have mentioned above. This also powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset and runs on OneUI based on Android 10 out of the box.

Like, Galaxy S20, this Galaxy S20 plus also comes with 12MP primary sensor, 64MP telephoto lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens. One the front, it has a 10MP selfie shooter.

The only change is, it has a 4,500 mAh non-removable battery with the same 25W fast charging support. This too comes with 12 GB of Ram but here you can choose either 128 GB storage or 256 GB storage and yes it also has a dedicated micro-SD card slot.

So as I have said, it’s almost similar to Galaxy S20. If you want to bigger display and bigger battery and also extra storage then yes Galaxy S20 is for you. Talking about price, Galaxy S20+ starts at $1,119 which is approx ₹79731 in Indian rupee.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

Galaxy S20 Ultra is really ultra in-terms of specification and performance. The phone is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and runs on OneUI based on Android 10. The phone has a huge 6.9-inches QHD+ OLED display and yes it’s very big but it’s an ultra phone.

Samsung has provided 12GB and 16GB Ram variant on top of that 128 GB storage and 512 GB storage and yes this too has a micro-SD card slot that can go up to 1TB. The phone is also packed with huge 5,000 mAh non-removable battery and support for 45W fast charging but fun fast, Samsung has only provided 25W charger in the box.

Here something gets exciting…

The Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with 108MP primary sensor, 48MP telephoto lens, and 12MP ultra-wide lens. If you recall, I have said when you record 8k video, the Galaxy S20 uses a telephoto lens instant of a primary lens because the phone needs a 33MP sensor to shoot video in 8k resolution.

Now with Galaxy S20 Ultra, it’s not the case because S20 ultra has 108MP primary sensor, so the video you will get in 8k will be batter then what you will get with Galaxy S20 or S20+. On the front side of things, the phone has a 40MP selfie camera.

Price, the Galaxy S20 starts from $1,399 which is approx ₹99696 in Indian rupee.

My First Impression: Galaxy S20 & S20+ and S20 Ultra

There is no doubt that the Galaxy S20 series is killer series right now, so if you want to buy a flagship device then you can take a look at S20 or S20+. These two phones have almost everything which you will need on top of that Samsung has provides tons of new features that you won’t find in any Samsung device.

Galaxy S20 Ultra is beast right now but you’re also paying a good amount of money for that too, so if you have money and if you want to try new tech then give it try. More, we will talk in Review. By the way, here is the price for all these S20 devices…

I think this time Samsung has rase the bar for many smartphone companies.
