Whenever we heard Nokia word only one thing comes to our mind, “Build quality” and this is what you gonna notice whenever you hold Nokia 8.1 in your hand but of course apart from Build quality this smartphone has lots of other things as well, so the big questing is “Is it worth buying a Nokia 8.1 / 7X / 7.1 in 2019”. Before we jump into it, here are the full specifications of the Nokia 8.1.
Update 5 August 2021 Nokia 8.1 still is a good smartphone if you can get under Rs 15,000 because it has a clean stock UI and a good processor which is rare these days. Still, I feel it’s better to go with the latest smartphone because Nokia 8.1 was launched in December 2018 in India.

Is it worth buying a Nokia 8.1 in 2020
The smartphone was launched in 2018 with the price of Rs 26,999 and as I have said it’s too much for this device but in 2019 HMD global has reduced the price from Rs 26,999 to 14,999. Now I think the Nokia 8.1 is worth this price tag because it still has everything you are looking for in a budget smartphone.
Update 14 Feb 2020 the Nokia 8.1 was launched in 2018 and it’s been two years and now I think, we have tons of options to choose from. So now in 2020, I would say that Nokia 8.1 is not worth buying because we have POCO X2, Realme X2, and many other options, so why do you want to buy a 2-year-old phone at 15k.

The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 soc which is built on 10 nm technology with Adreno 616 GPU inside. Recently we have seen this chipset in RealMe 3 Pro, Xiaomi CC9 lite, and in RealMe X, all the smartphones were performed well in all the departments.
And Nokia 8.1 is running on Android Pie which is a pure stock UI that means it will perform well as compared to other smartphones.
So yes you will not gonna see any problem in performance.
Battery, Cameras & Build Quality
The smartphone has a 3,500 mAh battery with a type-C port which means your device will charge faster. We have teased this device and we haven’t face any problem with battery life. In short, it has great battery life and it will last for the whole day. In the end, it depends on how you use this device in day to day life.
Talking about build quality, the smartphone is built like a tank, okay jokes aside, the smartphone has a metal unibody and there is nothing you need to worry about.
Conclusion
So yes if you are looking for a smartphone with stock UI and your budget is below Rs 20,000 then Nokia 8.1 is still the best device. The device comes under the Android One project which means you will get two-year security updates.
