Display Quality and Design of Xiaomi Mi A3

As I have said the Mi A3 comes with HD+ display and yes it’s AMOLED display panel that means it will give you a better result than normal HD+ IPS display. One thing I have noticed, the display is little bit vibrant, which means it will give overexposed look while you are watching movies or playing games, but yes it kind of normal and I hope Xiaomi fixes this problem via OTA update.

The Mi A3 also has a waterdrop notch and because of that Xiaomi archive to fit 80% screen to body ratio.

The phone has HD+ AMOLED display which doesn’t mean it will give you worst result but that doesn’t mean it will give you FHD+ result.

Personally, at Rs 12,999 company must need to provide FHD+ display panel but it is what it is now. So if you okay with HD+ display then there is nothing to worry about because Mi A3 has almost everything that 13k phone must-have.

Overall, every smartphone compnay do cost-cutting in some department and this is what Xiaomi has done it in the display quality.

Price and Performance of Xiaomi Mi A3

Under the hood, the Mi A3 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 soc which is built on 11 nm technology with Adreno 610 GPU inside and Up To 2GHz 8 x Kyro 260 CPU. It’s running on stock Android 9.0 (Pie).

So now if you can add 1 thousand more then you can get RealMe 5 Pro which has Snapdragon 712 AIE chipset with Quad camera setup. The RealMe 5 pro running on Color OS 6 while Mi A3 runs on Stock UI, now it’s up to you whether you want stock UI or color OS.

By the way, Mi A3 had 14 nm Snapdragon 660 and Mi A3 has 665 which is a kind upgrade but it’s not a huge upgrade.

The Snapdragon 665 chipset will perform well in every department whether you are playing games like PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), Asphalt 9 legends, Modern Combat 5, Garena Free Fire. And the fact is Mi A3 runs on stock UI which means it will give you the best possible result…

In short, you don’t need to worry about performance. So yes if you are looking for a smartphone with stock UI and you wanted a phone to play games then Mi A3 might be a good deal.

Cameras

Coming to the camera department, the phone comes with triple rear camera setup featuring 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, it has 32-megapixel selfie camera which is present on waterdrop notch.

The rear camera can shoot video up to 2160p@30fps and front camera can record video up to 1080p@30fps. The smartphone also has all the camera feature like Portrait Mode, Ultra-Wide Shots, EIS, Selfie Panorama, Palm Shutter.

Now the one thing I loved about this phone is its camera. Personally, the Mi A3 has best camera implementation below 15,000.

The phone does perform well under good lighting condition and I haven’t face any problem. It also has an ultra-wide lens and frankly when you use that ultra-wide lens, you will lose the details as well but yes it’s nice to see we are getting ultra-wide lens under budget price range but don’t expect great result form that ultra-wide lens.

Talking about portrait images, when you capture an image with the primary sensor it turns out well and details are also good but when you capture an image with 2-MP depth sensor images turns out a little bit underexposed. It can be fixed by OTA update and I hope Xiaomi fix this problem very soon…

The Mi A3 also has dedicated night mode but it doesn’t give you result like GCam, overall it’s nice to have night mode. As I have said it’s Android One phone but yes the camera app is not from Google, it’s typical Xiaomi camera app but apart from the camera app, all other things in stock, so no need to worry…

Overall, it has a good camera setup and considering the price tag, I think Xiaomi did give you the best cameras, and yes the front camera is also good. It has 32-megapixel selfie shooter and it will give you a better result than any other sensors.

Battery

The Mi A3 is packed with 4,030 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support and yes it has Type-C port. As always Xiaomi hasn’t provided 18W chared in the box which means you need to buy that 18W charger separately form Market, by the way, you will get 10W charger out of the box.

Note Battery life will depend on your daily uses like what kind of games you are playing, how much time you spend on mobile phone etc.

Conclusion

Buy Xiaomi Mi A3 only if you are looking for a smartphone with Stock UI. If you don’t care about UI and want better performance then you can go with RealMe 5 or RealMe 5 Pro. The Mi A3 is not a bad smartphone but if you are getting a better option at the same price then why to go with Mi A3…

By the way,

The Xiaomi Mi A3 will go for sale on 31st August 2019 at 12 MP (IST). It can be purchased from Amazon India or Xiaomi’s official website. For now, Xiaomi has launched Not Just Blue Kind Of Grey More Than White color variant, pricing for Mi A3 will be given down below…
