Vivo Z1 Pro review with pros and cons

Vivo Z1 Pro launched

Vivo uses to launch smartphones above Rs 20,000 with decent specifications but now it seems like the company learns a lot from Xiaomi & RealMe, and finally, they launched a good smartphone below Rs 15,000 in India. About Five days ago the company launched Vivo Z1 pro in the Indian market with great specification.

I used this device for a while and for the first time I feel Vivo launched its smartphone at a good price tag because as you all know Vivo always launches its budget smartphone above 20k. So here is our review of Vivo Z1 Pro with pros and cons, so let’s dive into this…

Display Quality – Vivo Z1 Review

The smartphone comes with a 6.53-inches Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2340. Vivo Z1 Pro has a punch-hole display which means there is no in-display fingerprint sensor because for now, LCD panel doesn’t support the in-display fingerprint sensor technology.

For now, I haven’t found any issue regarding display and it’s working fine. I even used this device in outdoor condition and the display seems to visible under the sunlight. All tho it has an LCD panel but still, the viewing angles are great.

By the way, it has a 90.77% screen to body ratio which means you will get more screen space as compared to the waterdrop display. Overall the display quality is great on this device and considering the price tag Vivo did a good job on the display.

Storage & Ram Mangement

The company launched three variants of Vivo Z1 Pro,

  1. 4 GB Ram + 64 GB Storage
  2. 4 GB Ram + 128 GB Storage
  3. 6 GB Ram + 128 GB Storage

As you all know Vivo uses Funtouch OS on their devices and personally Ram management on this OS is worth the ever.  So in short for now, the Vivo Z1 Pro is not that great when it’s come to Ram management, but let’s see if the company solves this problem in the coming OTA update.

If anything changes in the upcoming OTA update then it will be updated here.

Cameras Performance

The smartphone comes with a triple rear camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, it has 32-megapixel selfie shooter and that is placed on tiny pouch-hole.

As we all know Vivo is all about selfie cameras right which means the front camera will be great on this device. I think this device has the best front-facing camera setup, so if you want a great selfie shooter then Vivo Z1 Pro is the phone you are looking for.

Now coming to the rear camera setup, frankly speaking, it has a good rear camera setup. All tho it has a triple camera setup but still, it doesn’t feel like triple cameras setup because some times it takes really good photos and sometimes it likes what the… you know…

If you are looking for an average rear camera setup then Vivo Z1 Pro is the phone you are looking for.

One thing I need to add here when you get great specification in the budget price range that means the company will cut down some area because if they put all the good things in one single phone then what they gonna launch next right.

Overall, considering the price point, it has a good camera setup and it might improve in the upcoming OTA update.

Overall Performance & Gaming

Under the hood, it has Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 soc which is built on 10 nm technology with Adreno 616 GPU inside and 2×2.3 GHz Kryo 360 Gold & 6×1.7 GHz Kryo 360 CPU. It runs on Funtouch OS 9 based on Android Pie (9.0).

As I said Ram Management on Funtouch OS but yes it has Adreno 616 GPU inside which means you will get the best gaming performance. I have played Modern Combat 5, Asphalt Legends, PUBG (LAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS), and Fortnite.

All the games have performed well and In hasn’t faced any issue while playing any of those games. The Adreno 616 GPU will help a lot when you are playing games and it can handle all most every single game.

Talking about day to day tasks, the smartphone performed well even tho Ram management is not that great but the Snapdragon 712 did hangle quite well.

Overall, the Vivo Z1 Pro has great chipset inside and it can handle everything. So yes if you want a smartphone for gaming then this might be your next smartphone.

Battery

The smartphone is packed with a huge 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W charging support but yes it doesn’t have Type-C port.

As I said in many articles, battery performance will depend on your daily uses, what you are doing on your smartphone, which application used most, and how much time you played games.

Overall, the 5,000 mAh battery will last for the whole day or maybe tow days, if you are a casual user.

Vivo Z1 Pro Price

For the first time I feel that Vivo launched a smartphone under a good price tag, and here is the price of this device. The smartphone is available on Flipkart IN and it will hit the offline market very soon…

Conclusion

If you are looking for a gaming smartphone below Rs 15,000 than Vivo Z1 Pro could be the best choice for you because it has Snapdragon 712 soc which is 20% faster then 710 Soc. The cameras are also great on this device.

The only downside is, it has the worst Ram management but it could be solved via OTA update. But it all depends on the company whether they do it or not. Final word, you can buy this device because it has everything that you are looking for in a budget smartphone – Vivo Z1 Review
