Redmi Note 7s In-depth Review with Pros & Cons

Redmi Note 7s Launched

Last Week Redmi Launched their new device in India with the name of Redmi Note7s and that is basically Re-branded version of a Chinese version of Redmi Note 7. The device has all the specification that we have seen in Chinese Redmi Note 7, but still let’s see what’s new you may see in Redmi Note 7s. Before we jump into the review, here is quick technical specifications of this device.

Redmi Note 7s In-depth Review

The smartphone comes with 6.3-inches Full HD+ display with the resolution of 1080 pixels by 2340 and yes it has dew drop notch. It is available in 4 GB of Ram & 64 GB internal storage, and 3 GB of Ram & 32 GB internal storage, there is also Onyx Black, Sapphire Blue and Rube Red color option is available and personally Sapphire Blue looks awesome.

The Redmi Note 7s is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 soc which is built on 14 nm technology with Adreno 512 GPU and Octa-core 4×2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 CPU.

It runs on the latest MiUi 10 based on Android Pie (9.0) that has UI ads, so cheers for that. The device is packed with 4,000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W Quick Charge 4.0 support and Fun fact, Redmi doesn’t supply that Quick charge 4.0 charger in the box that means you need to purchase it from the market separately.

Coming to the camera department, it has dual rear camera setup featuring Samsung gm1 48-megapixel primary sensor with F/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with F/2.2 aperture. The Rear camera can shoot only video up to 1080p@30 fps. On the front, it has single 13-megapixel selfie shooter with F/2.2 aperture. Now let’s jump into the Redmi Note 7s In-depth Review.

Design & Built Quality

There is nothing new in design as well as in built quality but still, let’s talk more about built. On the front side, you will see 6.30-inches Full HD+ display that is protected by Gorilla glass 5 and yes it will help the Note 7s a lot when you drop this device in road.

On the rear side, there is glass unibody and that is also protected by Gorilla glass 5 and that doesn’t mean you can drop this device on the floor, in-short when you get glass unibody on device , you need to be very careful because if in case you drop the device and if your device doesn’t have case then you may see little little pieces lying on the ground.

The smartphone priced at Rs 10,999 that means don’t expect too much from built quality. But Overall I think under this price point you are getting much better then what you are getting from other brands.

Built Quality, as well as Design, is quite similar to what we have seen in Redmi Note 7 and Note 7 Pro. There is nothing more to say because you have seen this kind of design in previous Redmi devices.

Performance

Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660. Now I don’t think I need to say too much about this chipset because we have seen 660 soc in Zenfone Max Pro M2, Mi A2 and recently on Redmi Note 7 and all these devices does work quite fine.

So yes Redmi Note 7s will also perform really well when it’s come with day to day tasks, we have also played games like PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), asphalt 9 and newly launched Call Of Duty as well and we haven’t found any problem regarding performance but yes when you play these high graphical for 1 hr then we notice some heating issue and I think it’s because of that glass unibody.

So yes if you are buying Redmi Note 7s just because of gaming then I think you can add three thousand more and go with Realme 3 Pro. But overall in day to day task, the device fo perform really well and you will not gonna see any heating problem but when it’s come to gaming then the device does heat a little bit.

The Smartphone runs on MiUi 10 based on Android Pie (9.0) which has inbuilt UI ads, so if you are okay ads and little bit heating during gaming then you can totally open Flipkart and buy Redmi Note 7s right now.

Camera

It has Samsung gm1 48-megapixel primary sensor with F/1.8 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with F/2.2 aperture. I am not gonna lie, the smartphone has a better camera setup then what we have seen in Redmi Note 7 and it’s all because of Samsung gm1 sensor and I know this sensor doesn’t have the actual 48-megapixel capability but it will trick the software and give you a 48 MP shot.

On the front, it has 13-megapixel selfie shooter with F/2.2 aperture and you will see little bit improvement then Redmi Note 7 in the selfie camera. Overall I think a selfie camera did improve a little bit and via a software update, it can be improved more but of course, it all depends on compnay how they work on the camera department.

So yes you are planning to buy a device and if your budget is about Rs 10,999 and you are looking for a camera phone then you can buy this device. But keep in mind you will get a result that you get in a budget phone.

Overall the smartphone has much better camera implementation than what other brands are proving in this price range. So yes if you like Redmi brand and you can deal with Ads then Redmi Note 7s has good camera setup.

Battery

This phone has 4,000 mAh battery but you will only get one-day battery life and yes battery life always depend on user uses but when a smartphone has 4,000 mAh battery then it must last for one & half day and as you know MiUi mostly focus on battery but still the battery is not good as what I have expected.

For a normal user, Redmi Note 7s will last for 1 & half or two days but if you love to play games then you may need to charge this device twice a day. The phone also supports Quick charge 4.0 but compnay didn’t supply fast charger in the box.

And as I said All the problem can be solved via a software update, so let’s see what Redmi will do in software sides of the thing. If anything improved incoming software update then it will be updated here.

Price

The Redmi Note 7s is available in ONYX Black, Sapphire Blue, and Rube Red color option and as I said Sapphire Blue looks way better than other color options.

3 GB / 32 GB: Rs 10,999 ($ 158, Yuan 1,086)

4 GB/ 64 GB: Rs 12,999 ($ 186, Yuan 1,284)
