RealMe Fitness Band Review with Pros and Cons

Is it Worth buying RealMe Fitness Band

Realme will be launching tons of IoT products in India this year and they started 2020 with Realme fitness band. The all-new Realme band is priced at Rs 1,499 in India and it has some amazing features which you won’t find in any fitness band. So let’s find out whether you should buy this smart band or not?

Design & Build Quality

Realme’s fitness band kind of looks like Lenovo HW01 smart band. This Realme fitness band weight is around 20 grams which means you won’t even notice this band in your daily life. Talking about the strap, it doesn’t have strap-like Mi band 4, it has what we have seen in honor band 4 or 5.

If you ask me, I love what Xiaomi has done with strap because simple and it won’t come out very easily. Now, it depends on you whether you want Mi band 4 like a strap or what realme has provided.

By the way, this is a fitness band, so you got plastic built quality and used plastic also very good, so no problem in build quality. I would say, it’s comfortable, so nothing worry about grip or even for a weight.

Realme Link app for Realme fitness band

Its an easy and simple app, nothing complicated about the realme link app. You just need to install a realme link app and sign in into your realme account and link the Realme band into the app and you good to go.

This Realme link app will let you access your band, for example, you can adjust the band brightness, change the screen saver and much more.

Features

Realme fitness band has 9 workouts options including – Yoga, Run, Spinning, Cricket, Walk, Fitness, Hiking, Climbing, and Bike. By the way, the band is IP68 certified and yet, the band doesn’t have a swimming option. So, if you do regular swimming and want to buy a new smart band then this is not for you, take a look at Honor 5, 5i or Mi band 4.

Things I don’t Like…

The one thing I don’t like about this band is, you can only choose three workout options which you want to display on the band. For example, you have selected Cricket, Walk, and bike, so you can only use these three at the one time.

Now if you want to add Hiking, Climbing then you need to use the Realme link app and then replace Hiking, Climbing with any of these Cricket, Walk, and bike modes.

I hope this thing can be changed via update and if not then it’s not worth buying at all because if you want to use Walk and if you have selected Hiking, Climbing, and cricket then you need to open Realme link app.

One more thing, you know in Mi band 4 when you want to adjust the band brightness then you can do it in Mi band 4 itself but this is not the case with realme band because you need to use Realme link app to adjust the band brightness, you can’t do it in the band itself.

You also got a screen saver which is limited as of now.

You’re paying Rs 1,499 for this smart band and that’s why the company didn’t provide everything, for example, the Realme Fitness band doesn’t have a touch screen display, you need to navigate the screen by using a touch-capacitive button.

So if you want to use that touch-capacitive button and if you’re okay with that then yes you can buy this one but if not then add some money to your budget and buy Honor band 5 or Mi band 4.

Of course, this fitness band also has heart rate monitoring, Sleep monitoring, SMS feature and all the normal feature which is present on Mi band 4 & honor band 5.

Battery Life

I will make this part easy for you, if you enable all the features, for example, heart rate monitoring, Sleep monitoring, SMS feature and all the other then this band will give you around 7 days battery backup.

Now if you don’t use any of those feature then it will give you around 10 days+ battery life. By the way, battery life will depend on how you use this band in your daily life.

One thing to note, the smart band has an inbuilt USB port for charging and to do that you need to pull out the strap. So here I don’t know, how will be the durability of the strap, if you pull out the strap every day and if that strap becomes lose then you need to buy a new one.

So to test that, I need to use this fitness band for a month or more and then I will able to tell, whether strap will become lose or not?. I will update after two months, so do check out this part later…

Price and Availability

If you still want to buy this Realme fitness band, it will go for sale on 9th March 2020 via the realme website and Flipkart. It’s available in Black, Yellow, and Green color variant.

Conclusion

The Realme fitness band doesn’t have a touch screen display, you can’t control most of the features from the band itself, the display is LCD, so if you’re okay with these things then its worth buying at Rs 1,499.

If you ask me, whether I would buy this band for personal use?

NO, I won’t buy this fitness band because I want a touch screen and I don’t want to use the Realme link to do most of the work. I would rather add some money and buy Honor band 5 or Mi band 4.
