Display Quality & Design of RealMe 5 Pro

The RealMe 5 Pro features 6.30-inches Full HD+ display and yes it’s LCD panel, not an AMOLED panel. It also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, on the rear side as always Realme has used polycarbonate plastic back.

It has huge display which will help you a lot while playing games or watching movies. It also has waterdrop notch, I know it’s no big deal but right now most of the smartphone companies are providing pop-up selfie camera setup under 15k, but of course, it’s designed perspective and it goes person by a person.

So if you are okay with waterdrop notch then there is nothing to worry about, it has wonderfull display panel.

Talking about the design, as always Realme has used polycarbonate plastic built and that said Realme hasn’t used Glass built, metal built, or even aluminum built on any realme devices. Plastic built is not that bad but if you are paying around 14k or 15k for a phone in 2019 then it’s not acceptable, now as I have said I can’t say too much about design or built because it’s a personal choice.

By the way, the RealMe 5 Pro is available in Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple color options.

Performance and Price of Realme 5 Pro

Let’s take look at the price first and then we gonna jump in the performance,

Price for RealMe 5 pro is great and I think you are getting almost everything at this price point, I said almost because no compnay will give everything in a single smartphone.

As I have said RealMe 5 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 AIE chipset which is built on 10 nm technology with Adreno 616 GPU. It’s running on Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 (Pie), and yes RealMe hasn’t announced RealMe OS, so we need to wait for a new OS.

You all know what I about to say, only one thing is not good about performance is OS, believe it or not, Color OS is not built for everyone. There are some people who love Color OS but the majority of the people don’t like the color OS, now let me know what is your favorite feature of Color OS.

If you want to play games like PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds), Asphalt 9 legends, Modern Combat 5, Garena Free Fire, so yes that Snapdragon 712 AIE can handle all those games, and you won’t get any kind of problem while playing those games.

Overall, if we forget about color OS then RealMe 5 pro will give the best possible result.

Cameras

Talking about cameras, the Realme 5 Pro comes with quad rear camera setup featuring 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with F/2.25 aperture, a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with F/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with F/2.4 aperture, and 2-megapixel ultra macro lens with F/2.4 aperture.

Yes, it has Quad camera setup but that doesn’t mean it will give the best camera quality, in the testing I haven’t seen a big difference from 48 MP lens to 64 MP lens. So personally I feel like it’s a good strategy for promotion right, just imagine you are getting 64 MP camera + four-camera below 14k.

It’s obvious if anyone show Quad camera then people go with four cameras, no matter how good dual camera setup is.

I’m not saying RealMe 5 Pro has bad cameras but it’s good as I have expected. So yes if you are using RealMe X, OPPO K3, Vivo Z1 pro, Huawei Y9 Prime or even Redmi K20 then don’t buy RealMe 5 pro, only for that 64 MP sensor or for Quad camera setup.

Now if you compare 64 MP sensor with 48 MP sensor, then it’s a clear win for 64 MP lens because it has more pixels and because of that, it will give sharp and clean images.

So If you are buying RealMe 5 Pro only for 64 MP sensor than don’t expect too much form that camera setup.

In a closing note, Realme 5 Pro has wonderful camera setup below 14k. Now if you haven’t purchased RealMe 5 pro then just wait for Redmi Note 8 Series and see what price they come with.

Battery

The phone is packed with 4,035 mAh non-removable battery wich VOOC Charge 3.0 support and it also has Type-C port.

Note Battery life will depend on your daily uses like what kind of games you are playing, how much time you spend on mobile phone etc.

OS & UI

The RealMe 5 Pro is running on color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 (Pie). As I have said in my previous article, color OS is not one of my favorite UI because it’s complicated and frankly I don’t like it…

OS, UI or even design, depends on the person who is buying a smartphone. RealMe is also working on their new OS which will come very soon but yes there is no official confirmation yet.

Conclusion

Realme 5 Pro has Quad cameras, VOOC charge 3.0 which lets you charge your device up to 20W, a powerful chipset. Now if you are planning to buy this device then don’t buy this one now, because Redmi Note 8 series is also coming in September 2019, so just wait for Redmi Note 8 & Note 8 Pro and see what price they come in…

By the way, there is nothing wrong in RealMe 5 pro, it’s wonderful device. I have already mentioned the Pro and cons of RealMe 5 Pro, now it’s your decision whether you want to buy this device of not…
