Motorola One Fusion Plus Review with Pros and Cons

motorola one fusion review

After a long time, Motorola has launched a good smartphone. The Motorola One Fusion Plus is priced at Rs 16,999 Rs 17,499 Rs 19,999 Rs 16,999 which is a very good price for what Motorola is offering. It has a powerful Snapdragon 730G processor, 64MP quad-camera setup, whopping 5,000 mAh battery with 18W turbo-charging support.

Update 16th August 2020: Motorola One Fusion+ is priced at Rs 19,999, now I don’t recommend this smartphone because it’s overpriced and at 20k Motorola One Fusion+ is not worth it.

Update 24th October 2020: Motorola One Fusion+ is back to launch price, now the phone is priced at Rs 16,999 for the same 6GB and 128GB storage and now, if you want that pure stock UI and you can work with average cameras then this could be a good option.

Now, the question is, will you buy Motorola One Fusion Plus over POCO X2? This is what we’re about to find out. So let’s see, what new Motorola has to offer with the new Motorola One Fusion Plus.

Motorola One Fusion Plus Price in India

Motorola has only launched one variant in India and its 6GB of Ram and 128GB of internal storage which is priced at Rs 16,999 Rs 19,999 Rs 16,999. The first sale is going to happen on 24th June 2020 via Flipkart IN website at noon.

Now, let’s jump into the review…

Display Quality

The Motorola One Fusion Plus comes with 6.50 inches FHD+ display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolutions. Motorola has provided LCD which comes with HRD10 support, AMOLED would have been a great option but I guess, Motorola has done cost-cutting.

The display is not that bad, the only thing is, Motorola hasn’t said anything about display protection that said, we or no buddy knows what kind of glass Motorola has used to protect the display.

Also, the phone comes with a pop-up selfie camera setup which could be a deal-breaker for some people but now, I think technology has come so far. So I think, you won’t get any kind of problem in the long term. Still, its moving mechanism that means you need to be a little bit careful.

In short, at 17k, display quality is very good. No complaints here.

Build Quality

The phone comes with polycarbonate, I’m gonna call it plastic. As I have said, Motorola hasn’t said, what kind of glass they have used to protect the front side, so I can’t say, how durable the phone will be.

Also, the phone has the plastic build and that’s cost-cutting too because we have POCO X2 at the same price and that phone has a glass build with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Here, Motorola has provided some good specifications but they have also cut down some corners.

I’m not happy with build quality because the phone has a plastic build and the company didn’t mention what kind of glass they have used to protect the front display.

Cameras

Update: I have written this review when the phone was priced at 17k but now Motorola has increased the Rs 17,499. Now, I would say, if you want the best camera quality at this price range then go with POCO X2.

If you’re confused between Motorola One Fusion Plus and POCO X2 then I would, if you want that stock UI then buy Fusion Plus either POCO X2 is a way better option then Motorola One Fusion Plus.

Motorola has just launched this smartphone, so I think the company needs to do some camera optimization because right now, Motorola One Fusion Plus won’t give you better camera result. I hope Motorola fix camera problem with OTA update.

Whenever you take a photo with Motorola One Fusion Plus, it turns out more white and that’s why it loses out in natural colours. Here, some people do like the over-saturated image or white image but some people want detailed images. So there are some issues with camera that needs to fix.

Overall, it’s not like, the phone has the worst camera setup but at Rs 17,499, I think Motorola should have optimized the cameras before the launch. In the end, I can’t say, you can buy this phone and the company will fix the problem with OTA update because what if they didn’t?

Performance

The Motorola One Fusion Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G which is built on 8nm technology and also build for gaming, you see that ‘G’, yes that means ‘gaming’.

You will get the best gaming experience and the phone runs on stock Android 10 which will give you better user experience. Overall, you don’t have to worry about performance or even about UI.

Of course, if you don’t like simple UI then this one is not for you because its pure stock UI that means no heavy customization like what POCO X2 is offering with MIUI. I can tell you that, you won’t get any problem while playing games but I can’t tell you that whether you like Stock UI or MIUI, you have to decide by your self.

Battery Life

The phone has a whopping 5,000 mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support. What I can tell you, the battery will last for 1 and a half-day but in the end, it depends on your daily uses.

Here we go “the battery life depends on your phone use if you every day play games for 6 hours then you need to charge a phone in every 6 hours but if you’re like me and don’t use the phone very often then it will last for a day.”

Conclusion: Complicated

Yes, the Motorola One Fusion Plus is worth buying but yes there is some area were Motorola One Fusion Plus fails. For example, the phone has plastic build quality, no mention of the front glass, average cameras. So if you want stock UI then you can go with Motorola One Fusion Plus or if you don’t care about OS then POCO X2 is a better choice.

Do I recommend Motorola One Fusion Plus?

I do recommend this phone to those people who are looking for Stock UI at budget price range but if you want value for money smartphone then POCO X2 is the best choice.
