RealMe has launched two new phones under RealMe X7 Series. The RealMe X7 is a well-priced smartphone with good specifications but RealMe X7 Pro 5G is also good phone but it’s overpriced. So let’s review the Pro version and see, why RealMe is charging 30k for this Pro Version.

RealMe X7 Pro 5G is priced at Rs 29,999 for 8GB of Ram and 128GB storage and its available in Fantasy and Mystic Black colour options. The first sale will go live on 10th February 2021 at noon via Flipkart and RealMe India website.

Display and Build Quality
Display Size | 6.55 inches FHD+ AMOLED Display |
Display Protection | Corning Gorilla Glass 5 |
Resolutions | 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution |
Display Brightness | 1200 Nits |
Dimensions | 160.8 x 75.1 x 8.5 mm |
Screen Refresh Rate | 120Hz refresh rate |
Wide Vine L1 Support | Yes |
Camera2api | Yes |
After a long time, I can say, RealMe has done a good job with display because they have used 120Hz AMOLED display which is must-have on any smartphone. Back then, RealMe use to give 120Hz refresh rate but with LCD penal but thing are changing.
The phone comes with 6.55 inches FHD+ AMOLED Display and this is 120Hz refresh rate screen. Also, the screen brightness is 1,200 nits that means, there won’t be any kind of problem while using this phone under sunlight.
RealMe has also added support for Camera2api, so if you someone makes GCam then it will work on this phone without any problem. Now, if you’re someone who loves to watch movies on Netflix then it’s good news as this phone has Wide vine L1 support that means, it can stream content in FHD+.
To protect the phone, RealMe has Gorilla Glass 5 on both sides which is plus point but still, use tempered glass and cover for extra protection.
In short, RealMe has used good quality display and I don’t think you will have any kind of problem while watching movies or playing games. Everything will feel smooth as this is a 120Hz display.
Performance
Chipset | MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Plus Processor (7nm) |
GPU | ARM G77 MC9 |
CPU | 7nm, Octa-core, Up to 2.6GHz |
OS | RealMe UI 2.0-based on Android 10 |
5G | Yes |
5G Bands | N1/N3/N41/N78/N79 |
The RealMe X7 Pro 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1000 Plus SoC and the chipset can be compared with Snapdragon 855 Plus. To keep things easy for you, Dimensity 1000+ is not flagship processor, so don’t compare this chip with Snapdragon 865 or 888.
Like I said, this is better chipset then Snapdragon 855+. So if you have used Snapdragon 855+ smartphone then you won’t see huge performance difference but yes, Dimensity 1000 Plus supports 5G while Snapdragon 855 don’t.
There is no doubt that Dimensity 1000 Plus is a good processor. It can handle almost every single game without any problem. Still, I feel, this is not 30k chipset, RealMe should have launched this phone at 26k but they didn’t.
That doesn’t mean, RealMe X7 Pro 5G is not worth buying a smartphone. As I said, this is an overpriced smartphone. RealMe is charging extra money for that 120Hz AMOLED display and 65W charging speed and that’s it.
Back to performance, RealMe X7 Pro is running on RealMe UI 2.0 based on Android 10. Here I feel, they should have launched this phone with Android 11. There is no update when RealMe X7 Pro will get Android 11.
I have played COD Mobile and even Asphalt 9, I haven’t face any problem. Even while watching movies or switching between apps, everything worked best.
Cameras
Camera (Rear) | 64 MP Primary Sensor 8 MP Ultra-Wide 2 MP Macro 2 MP Depth |
Video Recording (Rear) | [email protected] |
Camera (Front) | 32MP Selfie Shooter |
Video Recording (Front) | [email protected] |
The RealMe X7 Pro 5G comes with 64MP Quad camera setup featuring 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro lens and 2MP B&W Portrait Lens while there is 32MP front camera which is placed on punch hole.
Now, let’s do that again, I’m gonna ignore the 2MP+2MP sensor. Those two extra added sensors are there to say, we have launched Quad camera smartphone and that’s it, that two sensors won’t make any difference in image quality.
This is 30k smartphone and yet, RealMe didn’t add telephoto lens instant of that, they feel, 2MP+2MP sensors make more sense. What I’m saying is, the phone has a decent camera setup and don’t expect too much from camera department.
The 64 MP Primary (Sony IMX 686 Sensor) does take good images. You will able to see, minor details when you use 64MP mode but by default, the phone will take 16MP images. So to get best out cameras, you have to use 64MP mode.
One thing I like about the camera is dynamic range, RealMe has done a good job here. The images will turn out good and there won’t be any problem in focus. Still, like every single RealMe Smartphone, the photo won’t be as real as you.
So you will see, bit whites images when you take selfie or normal photo. This is all because, people don’t like thair Real face, jokes aside. RealMe has done good job with primary sensor.
Talking about 8MP Ultra-Wide lens. This feels like budget camera sensor as I don’t see huge different, so don’t expect much from ultra-wide lens.
For those who don’t know, Ultra-Wide lens captured more area that means, companies should use more megapixel lens. That 8MP sensor is also added on, it’s not that great.
Coming to the Selfie camera, the phone has 32MP front camera and here, I don’t have to say much, RealMe has done a great job with the selfie camera. So if you’re someone who loves to take a selfie then this could be the phone you’re looking for.
Overall, RealMe X7 Pro 5G has decent camera setup and it’s doesn’t justify the Rs 29,999 price tag. Don’t go by the numbers, go by the quality of the cameras which is lacking on RealMe X7 Pro 5G.
Audio Quality
The phone has stereo speaker. So yes, if you don’t use earphone much and just love to use mobile speakers then this would great option for you.
Even at outdoors, you will able to watch YouTube videos without any problems. The RealMe X7 Pro also has a second noise-cancelling microphone.
The call quality is also great and here, that second microphone comes in place. It will give the best possible audio quality even if you’re in a crowded place, another person on call will able to hear your voice without any problem.
Battery Life
Battery Size | 4,500 battery (non-removable) |
Charging Port | Type-C Port |
Charging Speed | 65Wfast charging support (65W charger will be included in the box) |
The RealMe X7 Pro 5G comes with 4,500 mAh battery which is not huge as most of the phones at 30k, now comes with 6000 mAh battery, also those phones doesn’t have 65W fast charging support.
So here, I feel, RealMe has made things balanced. For those people who travels a lot, the battery will last for a day, you have to charge this phone at around 6 PM every day and if you use that 120Hz option then the battery could last even less.
Now, if you carry that 65W charger with you everywhere then there is nothing to worry about because the phone can be charged 100% in 35 minutes. By the way, the phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm Audio jack, so you have to use dondle.
“the battery life depends on your phone use if you every day play games for 6 hours then you need to charge a phone in every 6 hours but if you’re like me and don’t use the phone very often then it will last for a day or so”
Conclusion
RealMe X7 Pro 5G is an all-rounder smartphone. It has a powerful processor, great cameras, solid build quality, 65W massive fast charging support but the phone is priced at Rs 29,999. So yes, this is an overpriced smartphone. It should have launched at around 25k-26K but it didn’t.
Do I Recommend RealMe X7 Pro 5G?
No, I don’t recommend RealMe X7 Pro 5G because this is an overpriced smartphone. Now, if you don’t change smartphone very often then I would say, just add 5k more and go with MI 10T.
