Infinix Note 12 5G Review with Pros and Cons – Only 1 Problem
Infinix has launched quite of few smartphones in India and all the phones are good for what they offer but the only problem with Infnix is its software, I can even say that they have the worst Android skin.
The new Infinix Note 12 5G is priced at Rs 14,999 for 6GB of Ram & 64GB storage and it’s available in Snowfall White and Force Black color options while it will go for sale on 15th July 2022 at noon via Flipkart.

Infinix Note 12 5G Review
Yes, the Infinix Note 12 5G is worth buying if you’re okay with XOS otherwise you will be disappointed with its performance, the phone only has two good things which are a powerful processor and 5G connectivity other than that, it’s an average smartphone that can be ignored.

Infinix is laughing good phone but they need to work on their Android Skin, the XOS is even worst than MIUI. I feel, that if they go with Stock Android then Infinix can sell more smartphones because they’re offering good specs at the right price.
So yes, if you wanted to buy a 5G smartphone with a powerful performance at Rs 14999 then go with Inifnix Note 12 5G, don’t expect the cameras to be good, OS to be good, or the design to be good.

Display
The Infinix Note 12 5G comes with 6.70-inches 60Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 Pixels and 700 nits pick the brightness. The front is protected with the corning gorilla glass 3 while the frame and back are made out of plastic.
The phone does have support for Widevine L1 which means, you will be able to watch FHD+ content on OTT platforms like Netflix and Prime Video.
Now, we have seen that Infinix loves waterdrop notch and the same love can be seen in the Infinix Note 12 5G.
By the way, for those who don’t know, Infinix has recently launched the Infinix Note 12 4G and this phone too had the same 6.70-inches waterdrop notch, so yes, Infinix has used the same display and body as Infinix Note 12 5G.

For those who are wondering, the waterdrop notch is not that big but the bottom chin is quite big which is not a good look for Rs 15000 smartphone.
Overall, for the price of Rs 14999, Infinix should have provided the 90Hz AMOLED panel but didn’t because they wanted to save cost. Still, the display quality is good, there won’t be any issues while using the smartphone outdoors.
Performance
We have seen the MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor in quite of few smartphones and it’s well an optimized processor from MediaTek. The phone runs on XOS 10.6 based on Android 12, Infinix didn’t say anything about future updates.
We have seen Android Skins from OPPO, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and even Samsung but Infinix’s implementation is not that great.
You will see the lag or frame drop here and there. By the way, the phone does well in gaming but in day-to-day life, while scrolling through social media or doing any kind of other work, sometimes, you will see the frame drops.
Now that’s not the Processor issue, it’s the OS issue that can be fixed but yet, but Indinix didn’t do anything.

The device also comes with tons of pre-installed apps which can be uninstalled but you have to do that one by one which is not the best user experience. Infinix has also added ads in the UI which will appear time from to time in the notification bar.
All in all, XOS needs to be fixed or Infinix can change the OS, entirely.
Mobile games like BGMI, Apex Legends, and even COD Mobile will work fine, with no issues with gaming.
While the Infinix Note 12 5G comes with 12 5G bands which include n38, n40, n41, n77, n78, n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, and n28.
Overall, the MediaTek Dimensity 810 is a great processor, the only thing that needs to be fixed is the XOS.
Cameras
The Infinix Note 12 5G comes with a 50MP primary sensor, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP AI sensor while there is a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. Both the rear & front cameras can shoot videos at 2k resolution which is great on paper but doesn’t look great in real life.
The phone relies on EIS which doesn’t work at all, most of the time videos come out shaky even at [email protected], the thing doesn’t change.
Still, under good lighting, the video comes good but when it comes to low light, the video footage is not even useable.
By the way, we all know that Infinix loves oversaturation and the same can be seen on the Infinix Note 12 5G. Most of the images and video comes with extra painted colors, the red will be more redies and the same goes for all the colors.
The phone also has a dedicated night mode that doesn’t do anything, it needs to be optimized otherwise, it’s there.
I don’t know whether you have noticed or not but the phone doesn’t have an ultra-wide lens, so what you can do is, ignore those 2MP+2MP sensors for your own good.
The 50MP sensor is decent, but it doesn’t provide good images under low light. Again, as I have said, under good lighting, the images will be useable but these camera doesn’t justify the Rs 15000 price tag.
Coming to a 16MP front camera, here, you will get beauty mode by default because most of the images will make you white. It also has some dynamic range issues which are nothing new because we have seen the same in many Infinix smartphones.
Overall, for the price of Rs 14999, don’t expect anything from the camera department, be happy with what you have, and don’t ask for more. This is the smartphone for those who wanted to buy a 5G gaming smartphone for Rs 15000.

Audio Quality
Just like any other Infinix smartphone, this too doesn’t have a secondary noise cancellation microphone which is not good for calling.
Also, there is no carrier aggregation too.
The Infinix Note 12 5G does have stereo speakers but they can’t be called stereo because the upper side of the speaker is not that loud, you will only hear sound from the bottom speaker.
Technically, the phone has stereo speakers but in reality, it’s just one good speaker.
Battery Life
The Infinix Note 12 5G has a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W fast charging support.
The device will last for a day and a half but it also depends on how you use the smartphone.
If you will play games for five to six hours then you will have to charge the device two times but if you’re a casual user then the device can also last for more than a day.

Verdict
Do I recommend the Infinix Note 12 5G? the answer is NO.
Just like how important a processor is for smartphones, the software is also as impotent as that. What are you gonna do if the phone has a powerful processor and yet, you’re not getting good results?
Still, if you’re that person who wanted to buy a gaming smartphone and you don’t care about the UI, cameras, design, and build quality then you can consider the Infinix Note 12 5G.
Reasons to Buy Infinix Note 12 5G?
There are only two reasons to buy Infinix Note 12 5G which are MediaTek Dimensity 810 processor and 12 5G bands other than that, there is not even a single reason why you should spend Rs 14999 to buy Infinix Note 12 5G.
Reasons to Not Buy Infinix Note 12 5G?
There are many reasons to skip the Infinix Note 12 5G which are, that the phone doesn’t have a secondary noise-cancellation microphone, no carrier aggregation, the old waterdrop notch, plastic build, tons of Bloatware, ads in the UI, Only 60Hz Screen Refresh Rate, average cameras and not ultra-wide lens at even Rs 14999 price tag which doesn’t make any sense.

Very good information. But can you tell if camera 2 api is enabled does the gcam works. This is my only concern.
Yes, it does have Camera2api but as of now, there is no official Gcam available for Infinix Note 12 5G, if you want you can unofficial ones…
Thank you for reply . Can you please check if any version works .
Wow great article Sir. Can you please tell me is it worth @11,999 ?
I want this themes
Yaa…. absolutely clean and neat observation….infinix has to rethink about its OS…he is given everything..good processor..good display…12 5g bands…its bulky OS makes its slow…camera sensor is good f1.6 aperture but camera optimization not good…. speakers are powerful but no Dolby no dedicated audio chipset make them useless…too much of options no one even wanted these options…no problem even they give 2cameras back side but they should have good image processing… hardware is good but infinix fails to integrate those
