Amazfit GTR Mini Review
No, The Amazfit GTR Mini is not worth buying because this is Rs 10,999 smartwatch and yet it doesn’t have Bluetooth calling feature while it’s too pricey for what Amazfit is offering. However, if you wanted a rounded smartwatch with a premium build and if you can pay a bit premium then do consider it otherwise, skip it.
Amazfit has recently launched the Amazfit GTS 4 Mini at Rs 7,999 price tag with the same features as Amazfit GTR Mini. The only difference is, the Amazfit GTR Mini has a rounded design, and Amazfit GTS 4 Mini has a square design.
I get it, Amazfit has used Stainless Steel but still, it’s not worth the Rs 10,999 price tag in India, however, it’s fairly priced in the USA at $120.
Amazfit GTR Mini Pros and Cons

Display
The Amazfit GTR Mini comes with a 1.28-inch rounded HD+ AMOLED Display with a resolution of 416×416 Pixel and 326PPI Density.
The screen brightness is fairly visible under the sunlight, although, the screen brightness could have been a bit better. For example, if you’re out at around 2 PM then sometimes, it might get hard to read text messages.
The bezels are also not big, it more feels like Google Pixel Watch.
Also, the touch response is solid too, so you won’t face any kind of problems while using the watch in day-to-day usage.
The Zepp App has around 80+ watch faces along with that, if you want, you can set any custom images as well, ex; your face or anything else.
Overall, other than the display brightness, there is nothing to complain about.
Design, Comfort, and Build
The watch ring is made out of Stainless Steel which looks and feels great in hands. When you hold the watch, you will realize that this is a premium smartwatch.
On the back, the watch has plastic where all the sensors are placed.
The watch has 24 grams of weight without the strap and 37 grams of weight with the strap. So yes, this sort of lightweight smartwatch.
In short, sometime, you won’t even know that you’re wearing the Amazfit GTR Mini on your wrist.
The watch has a 20mm strap which means if you don’t like the default strap then you can always use 20mm third-party straps and those will work as good as the default one.
Amazfit offers three colors; Midnight Black, Misty Pink, and Ocean Blue. Now, if you ask me, I loved Ocean Blue, however, you can choose the one you like.
Talking about comfort or even build, here, Amazfit has done a spectacular job, so yes, you will be more than happy and yes, it does justify the Rs 10,999 price when it comes to the build and comfort.
Accuracy
The Amazfit GTR Mini has all the sensors from BioTracker™ PPG biometric, Acceleration, Geomagnetic, Ambient light, and even 5 satellite positioning systems.
Again, the watch does have built-in GPS which means, if you want to go for a run then there is no need to carry your smartphone with you.
By the way, Amazfit is using their patented circularly polarised GPS antenna technology, so the accuracy of your live location will be on point.
Amazfit is also using the PPG biometric sensor which is kind of normal, there is nothing new to talk about. Most of the smartwatches under Rs 5,000 uses this same Sensor to measure the heart rate and Amazfit is also doing the same but at an 11k price tag.
This is an optical heart rate sensor, so don’t rely 100% on it, if you have some serious health issue.
Also, the watch can measure the SpO2 which is kind of accurate but take whatever number you get with a grain of salt.
Under the hood, the watch has a Dual-core Huangshan 2S chip which will take care of everything. This is another reason why the watch feels smooth.
Talking about sports mode, Amazfit has added a whopping 126 Sports Modes but you can’t use all of them at once. You will have to pick your favorite 7 sports modes from the Zepp App, again, you can change the modes any time you want.
It also has sleep tracking too and it works like charm, it’s even more accurate than before. I have used quite of few Amazfit watches and by far, I don’t have any sort of complaints about the sleep tracking.
Also, yes, you can track all the sleep stages whether it’s Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, or even REM sleep.
Overall, I feel, there is nothing new when it comes to health tracking, it’s the same as all the other smartwatches, the only difference is Zepp OS. So if you own Amazfit GTS 4 Mini then there is no need to upgrade at all.
The Software
I have said many times that after WearOS and WatchOS, the Zepp OS has the has smooth watch UI, it feels and looks amazing. Now, Amazfit has been working on their OS for while and it does reflect well in real-life usage.
By the way, the Zepp App is available on iOS as well as Android, so you will able to use Amazfit GTR Mini on both of these platforms without any problems.
Do note, the watch will only work on Android 7.0 and above & iOS 12.0 and above.
The app shows all the data from sleep monitoring, heart rate monitoring, calorie burn, and even GPS data. The app is user-friendly too, so it won’t be difficult to use for new users too.
Overall, the Zepp OS is well optimized and well-made watch UI.
Battery Life
Amazfit has promised 15 days of battery life which is kind of close to what I got. I got about 12 days of battery backup with normal usage, the normal usage is turning off 24/7 heart rate tracking whereas when I was using all the features from sleep tracking to heart rate tracking, I got about 5 days of battery backup.
By the way, the Amazfit GTR Mini has a 270mAh battery and it will take about 2 hours to charge from 0% to 100%.
In short, I’m happy with the battery life I got, it’s any day battery than the Apple Watch or even Galaxy Watches.
Verdict
Amazfit GTR Mini
Summary
Concluding everything from Price to features, the Amazfit GTR Mini is a solid smartwatch but it’s not fairly priced in India, the watch should have been priced the same as Amazfit GTS 4 Mini. In short, the watch is pricey and it’s better to skip it and look for a better smartwatch if you gonna spend 11k.
