OnePlus 8 Launched: A 699 dollar phone, will you buy

OnePlus 8

OnePlus 8 series here, yes it’s officially launched in a global market that means it will be available in your country very soon. As of now, we don’t have India pricing but will get soon and once we get the Indian pricing, we will update you.

OnePlus 8 is not a cheap smartphone because it starts from $699 for 8GB and 128GB storage which is around ₹53,157 Indian rupee. This is US pricing and I think the Indian pricing will also be similar to US pricing.

OnePlus 8 Specifications

The OnePlus 8 comes with 6.55 inches display and still, its FULL HD+ display with the resolution of 1080*2400 Pixels 402PPI. The one thing you will notice is, front side, this time OnePlus went with a punch-hole display that means no pop-up selfie camera or IP rating for OnePlus 8. Altho, OnePlus 8 Pro does have IP rating and wireless charging support.

The phone also has the same 90Hz screen refresh rate which we have seen in OnePlus 7 Pro, 7T Pro, and 7T.

Performance

It has all-new and powerful Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 Soc which is the best chipset available for the Android platform. The phone is also 5G ready that said, OnePlus has used Snapdragon X55 modem to give you 5G. Fun fact, 5G is not available in India and I don’t think we will see 5G till 2022 and yes we have 5G support in every single flagship phone.

The OnePlus 8 is running on OxygenOS on top of Android 10 which is the best custom UI you can get in the Android platform.

Cameras

We have the same rear design from OnePlus 7 Pro and 7T Pro and also the same triple rear camera setup. An instant of a telephoto lens OnePlus went with a macro lens that no one uses, the telephoto lens would have a great choice.

On the rear side, we have 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 2-megapixel macro lens, and 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The rear cameras can shoot videos up to [email protected] and have Super Slow Motion 1080p video at 240 fps, 720p video at 480 fps.

That triple rear camera has, CINE aspect ratio video recording, UltraShot HDR, Nightscape, Micro, Portrait, Pro Mode, Panorama, Cat&dog face detection&focus, AI Scene Detection, RAW Image

One the front side, it has a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 selfie shooter with f/2.45 aperture and this can shoot videos up to [email protected]

Battery

The OnePlus 8 is packed with a 4,300 mAh non-removable battery with Warp Charge 30T Fast Wired Charging support and doesn’t have wireless charging support.

Other Features

The OnePlus 8 comes with Bluetooth 5.1 certification, HDR 10/10+ support, optical in-display fingerprint sensor, also has the NFC support.
