smartphone buying guide

If you have seen some of the recent tech updates then you will know that Mobile Companies are launching two or three smartphones every month. Now, every single smartphone looks the same and even some the phones have the same specifications yet one is expensive while the second one you can buy at a budget price.

Choosing the best smartphone in 2021 is not going to be easy job. So if you’re confused whether you should invest 50k on phone or 20k then I think you will find your all the answer right here. So let’s take a look at some of the key points that you need you to remember when you buy a new smartphone.

Choose Operating System

You will meet two kinds of people when you ask about the smartphone, one who will say iOS is best while another one will say Android is way better than iOS.

Both the OS is best. Now, it depend which one you like. If you go with Android then you have hundreds of choice, you can buy smartphone under 1 lakh, 50k, 20k or even 10k but if you go with iOS then you have to spend more than 50k.

Android is an open-source that means anyone can use Android OS and they can also make Custom OS from Android. When it’s come to android, there are brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, RealMe, Nokia, Google and many more who has it’s own Custom OS which is based on Android but each OS will look different because each brand has made some changes.

While iOS is not open Source, so no one can use expect Apple. So if you buy iPhone then every single OS will look the same whether it’s 40k iPhone or 1 lakh iPhone. This is the reason why iPhones are more secured than Android because no one will mess with OS while Android is open source, so whoever uses Android, they can do anything they want.

If I wanted to buy new smartphone and if my budget is above 50k then there is no doubt, I will go with iPhone but if my budget is below 50k then Android is way to go.

Performance is Key Factor

Most people don’t buy a new smartphone every year and if you’re one of them then you will need the best processor in your next smartphone. As I said, if you buy a new iPhone then there is nothing to worry about because the newly launched iPhone has the best processors even if you buy last year’s launched iPhone then still, that will also last for three to four years.

Coming to Android, you can buy a smartphone at any price range. For example, if you want to buy a new smartphone under Rs 20,000 then you need to see what processor companies have used.

Right now, most of the phone under 20k comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, 720G and some has MediaTek G90T processors. So if you see any of the processors below 20k phone then just go for it, those phones will last longer. By the way, if your budget is above 40k then go with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or Plus.

RAM and Storage

If the smartphone has a good processor then you will get 4GB of Ram and 64GB storage option. Always remember, Most of the budget Android brands don’t focus on optimation, so always go with above 4GB Ram variant.

No matter what smartphone you buy or at what price you buy, always go with a good processor because the processor is what helps the phone to perform well in long terms.

Display Quality

These days higher screen refresh is on trading. Even 20k smartphone has a 120Hz screen refresh rate, so if you get a good deal on a phone that has a higher refresh rate then just go for it, you will get the best experience.

Also, you have choices from LCD, AMOLED, Super AMOLED, and OLED display. Each display type will cost a certain about of money. For example, if the phone has an LCD display then it will cost less, by the way, right now most of the mobile brand is providing AMOLED and LCD display below 20k.

Keep in mind, having AMOLED or OLED display is not good enough but having good quality AMOLED display is what you should look for. Right now, Samsung makes the best display for the smartphone.

Also, the 20k smartphone AMOLED display and 50K AMOLED display will have a huge difference, it’s not like both will have the same display type, in short display quality depends on the price of the smartphone.

Like the display, the phone also has a screen resolution. You can buy HD, FHD, QHD+ display but remember right now, under 50k you will only get FHD+ display while if you go above 50k then you can easily get QHD+ screen resolution phones.

Battery Performance

The battery is also a key factor because if the phone doesn’t last for a day then it’s not a smartphone. By the way, the battery life depends on your daily use, so every time you can’t complain about battery percentage too. These days, you can easily get 5,000 mAh battery on a smartphone with 18W fast charging support.

Always, look for higher battery on smartphone because it will make your day essay.

Cameras

Like every trend, having Quad cameras will give you best image quality but that’s not true.

If the phone has a Quad camera that doesn’t mean it will give you the best image quality, so whenever you buy a new smartphone then just search the phone you want to buy on YouTube or you can also search on MobileDrop to see how is the camera quality of that phone.

One more thing, if the phone has 48MP, 64MP, or even 108MP camera sensor then its not 100% granite that those sensors will provide better images. For example, you can see an iPhone or Google Pixel device, these phones have only 12MP sensor and yet they provide the best images as compared to the phone with 108MP sensors.

More megapixel doesn’t mean good quality images, so if you see 10k phone with 64MP or 48MP sensor then it’s not like, that will give you the best image quality.

Things to confirmed before you buy new smartphone

Things You can skip

5G Smartphone?

5G is not available in India and no one has any idea when it will be available. Even if we get 5G till 2021 in India then it won’t be cheap as what Reliance Jio had provided 4G in the beginning. In short, don’t spend more money to just get 5G smartphone but if you’re getting a good deal on 5G phone then just go for it.

Foldable Smartphones?

Foldable phones are expensive, I mean you need to spend more than 1 lakh to buy Foldable phone and I think, Foldable phones are very good but yet it’s not practical. This tech will take some time to get perfect and also wait for budget Foldable phones because the normal user won’t pay 1 lakh for phone.
